In vista or xp the average user needs to spend worthy time searching for the preference menu as it is located at a different location for every program. Also a mac has most printer (and other) drivers already pre installed. on windows you again waste time in searching for drivers.

today you can get a gateway fx 7811, that is twice as fast in crysis as the fastest macbook pro that you can cutomize on there sight for $1300 bucks vs the $3500 premium if you max out everything, then you can get a macbook for $999, which will come to $2300, vs the $2500 if you dont get upgrades at all, if you want to have a gaming system and a mac, do what I did, get both, ofcourse if you want one laptop to do both then get a mac(but the mac will still suck at gaming!!!!!!!!!)

Well, Macbook can run Counter Strike Source and COD4 decently. Macbook Pro will run almost any game maxed out. I had the same dilemma as well and I bought the Pro simply because my last laptop had an integrated graphics card and it only lasted a couple years because it couldn't handle games like Counter Strike.

You can install mac os x leopard on most pc's you want with Leo4Allv2 (just google it). Works on both intel and AMD cpu's.
Even make it run dual boot so you can select what you want to do, run windows xp/vista for games or run mac os x for its design and sensible simplicity.

I actually use Mac OS 10.4.8 on my Sony Vaio Laptop. It works fine. expecually when it's virtualalized. I Love it. And plus if i do need full system resources. I just restart and load up mac. Or you can put Windows on your mac via boot camp.

macs cost double due to their high quality construction and parts that laugh in the face of wear and tear. thats great if you mostly do video editing. but us gamers need to upgrade every few years. so we don't need parts that last forever. not to mention we spend much less money (especially if you build your own) alienware is quite expensive, i would rather run "bootcamp" on a mac before i get alienware

I actually use Mac OS 10.4.8 on my Sony Vaio Laptop. It works fine. expecually when it's virtualalized. I Love it. And plus if i do need full system resources. I just restart and load up mac. Or you can put Windows on your mac via boot camp.

I agree completely, however, I made this video as a response to other Mac users on YouTube showing off their MacBook Pros as gaming machines. Laptops (PC or Mac) are not a solid gaming platform at all in comparison to what you can do on a desktop.

macs cost double due to their high quality construction and parts that laugh in the face of wear and tear. thats great if you mostly do video editing. but us gamers need to upgrade every few years. so we don't need parts that last forever. not to mention we spend much less money (especially if you build your own) alienware is quite expensive, i would rather run "bootcamp" on a mac before i get alienware

dont u think u rely too much on specs rather than put it into practice? coz i that same graphics card performance may differ due to the fact that they are put in two different machines; mac and dell. For instance, i had a Pentium 2 pc with very low specs and according to requirements and other people's experience, XP could never run on my pc. But then i took a challenge and installed it and surprisingly it ran perfect although other people couldnt do it.
