I agree with his position on terminally ill patients, but his position on law is absurd, he talk's like he is in favor of anarchy, anyone can do anything, what the hell is this ?
@Woutchitsou No, I think the larger point he was trying to make was that we are too too bound by laws and social systems. Could you imagine living anymore without a job? There is no real freedom anymore. Our choices are in effect restricted. But yes, he is an old timer. And doesn't believe too much in excessive law that seems to me atleast, ludicrous.
@Woutchitsou I will preface this with letting you know that I am a minarchist. I disagree with Dr. Death when it comes to killing folks. However, he hits the nail on the head when it comes to his position on law. Anarchy is the only true way to freedom. There can't be any dispute with that claim, because it is the 100% accurate.
I agree with his position on religion and right to death during suffering, but his statement about laws makes no sense to me. So is he against traffic lights?
@Blingy98 There is a difference between law and legislation (though today they are indistinct in culture)—law is fundamentally what is just; legislation are the edicts of some men.
@Blingy98 He is saying that rights, human rights, natural rights, are not created by laws. You are born with them. If a law is passed that is immoral, inhumane, it is the citizens duty to disobey that law. For example, a law that interferes with a humans right to end his life painlessly, humanely, and with dignity is a law that should be disobeyed. The right to die cannot be obstructed by law, its a human right.
@Blingy98@Woutchitsou No, I think the larger point he was trying to make was that we are too too bound by laws and social systems. Could you imagine living anymore without a job? FOX is sooo hypocritical cuz they use the fascist card all the time on democrats peddling laws, Dr Kevorkian was ran down because he spoke his mind when all these corrupt people were too scared of straying from the status quo and will hastily pin anyone down who does stray
Talking-heads like Cavuto here are obsessed with minutia. All their god and country claptrap is unenlightened , anti intellectual nonsense w/no practical application. The interview reflects how much this country is in denial about mortality, the only certainty in life. The great Frank Zappa had almost the same response as Kevorkian when some insipid interviewer asked him about his epitaph. Only egotists who can't imagine a world without them it are worried about things like posthumous 'legacies'
For example, are you gonna talk crap about and judge every single person from the Middle East just because a few radical morons, who misrepresent their religion, take things into their own hands in excess and commit haneous acts in the name of Islam? Oh, wait, you probably did shortly after 9/11, I bet you anything you did.....but, anyway, I'm sure that by now, you see how idiotic that line of reasoning is.....don't repeat it with the subject of God's existence, cuz ur being a fool
dude, I share your support of Kevorkian and I agree with his arguments regarding his work, but what does the question of the validity of Christianity have anything to do with all this? Sure, there were dogmatic, religious nuts and politicians who said a lot of dumb stuff, but those idiots neither represent nor accurately convey the teachings of the Bible. Don't look for excuses to reject God's existence just because a few irrational morons say dumb crap and misrepresent the bible
The USA's Pledge of Allegiance (& the military salute) was the origin of Adolf Hitler's "Nazi" salute under the National Socialist German Workers Party (Nazis). Edward Bellamy, author of the American socialist utopian novels and the Pledge of Allegiance.
the only problem with Dr Kevorkian is that he was borned in USA. He would have been able to do such great things in a more evolved country. Not in a land full of tea baggers, corruption, facism and capitalism.
I can't believe he got thrown in jail. If the government has the right to choose when you die, it's like them saying that we are FORCED to live as long as they want. Living is a government-enforced law now, it's no longer a right. We treat our fucking pets better than this.
Forbidding someone to end their own life on the basis of YOUR religion (and let's not act like this isn't the problem please) is immoral and unconstitutional. When the government passes a law that limits your rights based on a religious argument, that is unconstitutional. The image of the flag is irrelevant to the bigger picture. How is he sick for granting the wishes of others? Starving yourself to death is irrational, so what makes it more rational as a means of going with peace?
he is a sick bastard not to explain the difference btween humans and animales what time of medical condiesion is he and the news host i am not surprized as both are american
lets not make too much of the flag antics, it was just to make a point. what is important here is that we must make a decision about our faith. each person has to decide what is sacred, or what holds sanctity. never put your brain to rest, and let other people decide what is good for you. Should it be your right to say, "doctor, please end my suffering"
@ja1doyle I think an even better question would be is it less or more humane to allow someone to starve to death as opposed to euthanasia? Since both are done under anesthesia, are they not the same in the end game? The only difference is time. The body suffers for days or moments; both end in the same result.
They are quite the rarity these days, it seems. Maybe there are a lot of potentially free minds out there that need to know they aren't the only one they know that thinks that way...
Anyway, thanks for posting this. I wouldn't have seen it otherwise.
The truth hurts! Kevorkian is done but who isnt once they start speaking the truth? I often wondered what we would look like if we didnt bath, shave, shower or manicure our toes and fingers for only 30 days. What would we look, smell or even feel like? Anyone care to try?

I think technically the government owes him money. They've been taking it out of his paycheck since he started working and said they'd give it back to him when he gets old. He's just getting his money back when it was on loan.
