I met the guys a few years ago when they were playing at a festival. 'Saor Patrol' or (Freedom Patrol) I think is the translation. They are super guys.  I tried to book them for a conference a few years ago but they were in the USA playing at Dolly Parton's resort.

I hope in the 5 years this has been on the U-tube that, (dare I say) piper has found an instructor, because THAT was sheer CRAP, an INSULT, to the instrument. His proficiency equal to a novice violinist still learning to bow correctly, and we all know how that can sound. Unfortunately not everyone's ear is attuned to differences in the skill levels of pipers, but it's players like HIM that give John Q Public the wrong Idea.

Agreed he does a good job making it sound good and entertaining, and the drums also help. Some of the things the classical people are talking about is his fingering of the "C" note which is incorrect, and if played with others who have had that training will make it sound out of tune. Also classical people will tell you that his note transitions are muddled. Lastly towards the end, after 1:15 his read becomes squeaky showing either fatigue or that he hasn't warmed up.

This group is just another imitator of a band that calls itself "Clan an Drumma" and while they are mildly entertaining to the unskilled ear, they are not unique or expert at all.
