  • great dog, she was not the best person to interview for that though

  • i love the mustach they have so cute:)

  • airdales are the cutest dogs in the world

  • LONDON ENGLAND?!?! WHAT AN IDIOT. From Yorkshire... silly Yanks, only knowing the capital

  • @AkitaInu6 Not all of us from the US are Yankees (aka from new england) nor do we believe that London is the only place in England. I have been all over England including Yorkshire.

  • I have a Airedale, he is a great dog. Full of FUN.

  • Are there any breeders out here that have Airedale puppies available for under $1000?

  • @kraeness

Try breeder is Betty Hopper and she is wonderful. I have been to her home and the puppies and dogs are all great. My female was 550. I know she has shipped all over the us and canada. She sends pictures and updates as the puppies get older. Her puppies go quickly and she does not over breed so they are spaced out.

  • @kraeness

sorry web site for Betty is happytailsok net

  • sorry Bettys website is happytailsoknet Should be a period between ok and net it will not let me do that. She also sends updates after you pick your puppy so you can see it as it grows before you pick it up. She is wonderful

  • @kraeness

Where are you? Try Debbie Cross in MO near the capital Jefferson City. I got my dog form her 71/2 yrs. ago. If she still breeds them, you will get a great dog at a reasonable price.

  • @kraeness In Serbia there is breeder "Fildale", they have fantastic dogs and price is probably much less than that. They export all around the world, visit their webpage.

  • The best dog out there! My Airedale is so goofy! esp. with the cats!

  • bahahahah @ the london england quote hahaha apart from that mostly true but their fine with little kids cause i grew up with one since i was a baby

  • Dont get just 1 aredale, get at least 2, they need companion dog, the play 24x7...i have had 5, ....and pls gang....please dont feed your dog human greasy food, hard dog biscuits are what they should have. otherwise pancreatitus will kill them

  • My favorite breed of dog. It's nice to hear he is protective, and brave. Hauser will be here when my life permits.

  • In the United States Airedales tend to be on the large size. I had a male that was 80lbs and now a female that weighs 85lbs. They LOVE children, but the females are very protective and can be agressive when protecting their family. These are incredible, smart, loving dogs though a little head strong. Not blindly obedient.

  • @cargirl50 Noooo, they are very obedient, specially if there is nothing more interesting in their site at the moment :).

  • Airedales are not a medium sized dog either. They are a large breed, weighing 70 to 105 lbs. Thats a big doggie. They're great!

  • nice lady but certainly thePG version of the Airedale. They are incredible fighters, and also did duty protecting the flocks from any predators, they LOVE babies and can be trusted 100% with children of any age. They are very protective and woe betide any thing that attacks another member animal or human, of the family. Funny, affectionate , wonderful dogs!

  • Dude! I'm going to get one in May!! Expensive ($650), but it's worth it.

  • Nice video. They look a lot different to my great grandfather's time though. Look better perhaps but bet they don't work as well as they used to work. They were great hunting dogs and I don't mean retrieving I mean hunting. They were among the best fighting dogs as well (unfortunately)

  • me muero q preciosooooo!

  • Originated in London.... lol!

  • My Airedale puppy's dad was 108 LBS. and 24 in tall.

  • I APPECRECIATE THAT!!!! How much is 200 Euros in american dollars?

  • How much do Aierdale Terriers cost?

  • I bought mine with 200 Euros:).

Has pedigree and all that shit.

  • @sumerianelohim I bought my Airedale puppy for $500.00 dollars in McIntosh, New Mexico and they have an AKC and World Airedale Terrier Club registry. Southern Roc Airedales is the breeders business .

  • 3 years old and matuor?

  • @Ulstergunner Haha, made me laugh also.

  • Adorable but I would trim his beard.

  • airdales are from yorkshire you muppet. I have a pedigree female and its much larger than that.

  • NO YOUR THINKIN OF OTTERHOUNDS!

they were used as police dogs untill the end of WWII when alot had been killed as war dogs so german dogs took over the police force

  • They were used as police dogs but they were also used to keeps rodent off farms and other animals such as otters.

  • There not from london. You don't know anything.

  • My friend's airedale lucy is so great she's a silly dog that NEVER bites and I cuddle with her like she's a life sized teddy bear. <33

  • I've had Airedales literally my whole life and I love them, but I wouldn't necessarily say that the Airedale is "great" for obedience training because they've got a strong independent streak and a quirky sense of humor; I'm convinced that they would rather frustrate you by playing tag or hide-and-seek than act perfectly. If you're wanting a dog for obedience training, get a Doberman or GSD; something with less personality to prevent overriding your commands.

  • Airedales are wonderful, we've had three. Our dog Maddy is 4 right now, he's from Yorkshire where the original dogs were bred.

  • My friends family breeds them

They are so sweet, gentle and they will chase anything that moves .. cats, mouses, they have a very strong hunting instinct and they are alert. but they are GREAT with family and people they know

  • best family dog you can get

  • they did not originate in London.

Airedale is a geographic area in Yorkshire, England, corresponding to the river valley of the River Aire (pronounced air). The valley stretches from the river's origin in Malham which is in the Yorkshire Dales, down past Bradford, through Leeds and Wakefield and on to join the Humber.

  • Grat dog. Brave fast really inteligent and full of love!!!

  • Airedale Terriers were developed to hunt other animals. Many Airedales are dominant or aggressive toward other dogs of the same sex. Many have strong instincts to chase and seize cats and other fleeing creatures. If anything goes wrong in the breeding, socializing, training, handling, or management of this breed, it is capable of seriously injuring or killing other animals.

  • THATS WHAT IM COUNTING ON!!!

  • @aleashacasaretto every word is right. Enzo is my third Airedale, he is 5 and extremely athletic. He is a weapon and really not a dog for beginners. I really must take care. He is not a devil.. but his instincts. To peoples he is very friendly when they are friendly to me. He is a fantastic dog when you work with him. This is what they need not these degenarated pussy-dog-shows.

    Greetings !

  • very nice show dog

  • il pastore tedesco deve essere tedesco lo spinone italiano italiano e via dicendo.....quindi ad ognuno la sua razza

  • best bread ever :)

  • Bread? I'm sorry, are you referring the dog breed to a loaf of bread? :p

  • The Airedale Terrier was not created in London England. It was created in the river Aire area near Yorkshire.

  • I was just about to comment then but you beat me too it!

  • Dogs arn't "created" sorry lol I had to correct you

  • Individual dog breeds are created by man, by crossing other breeds created by man. If you cross 2 trees together is the new tree created by man? God did not make that creation man did.

  • BOUVIERS ARE THE BEST DOG EVER~~

  • good one...but not the best:)

  • Anyone know what happens if you DO clip, instead of strip the coat? I heard, but do not know if it is true, that if you clip, a different kind of coat comes in--and that this is not the breed standard. But if you are not interested in show, are there any advantages to the coat that grows in after clipping, instead of stripping? Any disadvantages besides not being in standard?

  • The coat when clipped is very soft when it comes in. You can strip them later on, but after a long time of clipping, the coat never gets the same as if stripped sooner. You can not own a better breed of dog.

  • Do you know if you can start hand stripping an airedale after having had him clipped? My dog is just over two years old. thanks!!!

  • Lot of people pretending the know about these dogs...for the record... Airedales ( from the valley of the River Aire in Yorkshire- there's a clue in the name)were bred to hunt all types of larger game - particularly otters and badgers. They've got overdeveloped forelegs for digging and almost webbed feet for swimming. they would dig out quarry. They should stand 23 inches in the male and can be trained to do anything - they're limited only by the skill if the trainer.

  • A great all-round dog. Airedales can be trained to do anything a dog can do. Healthy, fun-loving friends of the whole family.

  • + FFs airdales where not bred for hunting otters they wernt a threat to the farmers feilds how the h##l they did hunt them but not for that reason and and thats not what they were bred for they went along with the hunt with other breeds of terrier to hunt fox bagers and rabbits mostly they where to big to go down into the holes so the smaller dogs would go in chase the quary out and then the airdales would do there work.

  • anyone noticed america has none of there own breeds really they just try to inbreed and perfect breeds what already excist and usually make a mess out of it like the airdale the airdales bred in america are no where near as nice as the thourough breds in england there much larger and should be kept the way they were, + where do they get this information from is america like a sepperate planet or something,

  • Actually America DOES have a few native breeds Like the: Chesapeake Bay Retriever American Water Spaniel American Foxhound American Cocker Alaskan Malamute Alaskan Husky Alaskan Klee Kai Boston Terrier Australian Shepherd Boykin Spaniel Carolina Dog ...cont
  • Bluetick Coonhound Redbone Coonhound Treeing Walker Coonhound Black and Tan Coonhound Native American Indian Dog American Farmcollie Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog Mountain Feist Black Mouth Cur American Eskimo Catahoula Leopard Dog
  • Sure in Englan you think YOURS are better, but in the US, we think OURS are better, everyone has their own opinion.

  • You are telling me the Australian Shepard originated in the U.S.? GET OUTA HERE!

  • Yeah it did. It was developed in the western US.

  • Same again ive comented on the other video because the information they are telling us is fulse for example the airdale terrier did not originate in london it was actually yorkshire the north of england idiots they should do some sort of research

  • Very nice clip !! 5 stars

  • Like many here, I couldn't get past the "London" bit. I've known since I was a kid that Airedales came from Yorkshire over in England.

Airedales are brilliant dogs, but only if you want a challenging companion and not a mindlessly obedient dog. Remember that trainable is not the same thing as intelligent. Airedales are intelligent.

  • Please can someone help me find out what breed mix my dog is? I think she got some Airedale, video is on my profile. Would be very appreciated, Thank you very much for your time.

  • I dont see an airedale in your dog, im sorry.. maybe, cos of the colours, a smaller terrier with a retrieving dog (duck tolling retr)

You dog is way to 'wide', to massive in his chest and way too short.

    For as far Ive seen..

Its a very nice dog you got, it shouldnt matter what breed it is, its a smart and cute dog!

    Haller!!!

  • Thanks for that, checked out duck tolling retriever and there is a resemblance specially the ears, u might be right, thanks !

  • also would explain the white patches on the top of her head and elsewhere

  • Love fosgrove comment... very funny. :-) Have added you to our playlist... thanks.

  • Neat video, but she needs to get a different collar for her dog. That chain keeps yanking up against the poor airedale's throat. :-/

  • My female - 'bout the same size, no beard though! Her name is Lucy, indeed, "I Love Lucy" or should read, "We Love Lucy". A Yorkshire bred dog you say, what a pitty, I would've suggested England's West Midlands. In absolute contrast to the Airedale Terrier, Yorkshire is such a bore!

  • Yes,London was absolutely infested with rabid otters in the late nineteenth century. Thank god for the airedales! It was almost as bad as the llama plague in Paris which was stopped by the poodles.

  • and .. is that REALLY an Airedale? It's WAY too small to be breed standard per the British Kennel Club. Per the amount of tan vs black, it's not a puppy, and therefore is most likely a Welsh Terrier or even a Lakeland Terrier. All have generally the same black and tan colour but Airedales are the King of Terriers for a reason.

  • Airdales are from the county of York great swimmers and orignally bred to hunt big game we used them in WW 11 one drug his master through enemy lines with both front feet shot off How's that for loyal I've been fortunate to have had Two in my life, both of the Orang line (the orignal large bred Airdale)Funey great companion and He Has a Mind of his own!

    LOve those guys.

  • Oh, please, what a clueless, typical American. Airedales didn't originate in 'London England', they're from Yorkshire (Airedale being one of the Yorkshire Dales). That is such an obviously stupid error that I find it hard to say that most of the rest of what this cretin says is actually true.

  • whose got a 3 year old child that is "mature"? That was kinda silly.

I think she should've said "good with kids, but you have to be careful with very young children, as with any dog". That said I do think they are good with kids, and can be very gentle with young kids and babies.

The best dogs in the world EVER

  • Love'em :-)

  • my female airedale is that small

  • mine too !

  • best bread ever :)

  • indeed pretty good bread...

  • hahah... yeah, pretty fleshy bread...

  • The dog shown at :20 is a Welsh terrier, not an Airedale. It's way too short. Adult Airedales measure at least 20" at the shoulder.

  • A nice video with only one obvious issue: Airedales are NOT from London, England. They originate from the the county of Yorkshire which is almost the northern most part of the country. They were bred to hunt Otter as the lady says but in and around the river "Aire". All of this said with the utmost kindness and appreciation.

  • @mcoombe thank you. i nearly spilled my drink when i heard london. lol

  • @mcoombe Dude shut the hell up, really...who cares? London is basically the same as Yorkshire they are both filled with wankers.
