  • I was lucky enough to play and hang out with Don and Blackwell many times. They were both very beautiful and gentle cats- no posturing involved. Sidewalk, there is still music out there- maybe it's harder to find. Keep looking and listening. Peace be with you all.

  • Although never together as Old and New Dreams, I can count myself among the fortunate of having seen every one of these guys in performance. Certainly has made my life a better thing.

  • Get 'em, Haden.

  • First rate Avant-Garde! Light years still ahead from what so many "young lions" claim to be "discovering" nowadays.

  • @MusicLessonsComp So true, although I don't think there are any young lions out there anymore, just little kittens with no teeth at all, Jazz in it's current state is in such bad shape.

  • Please check out Ed Blackwell's daughter at FREE NEARIN BLACKWELL on Facebook.

  • Thanks for putting this up. Blackwell is amazing... one of my all time favorite drummers. Wish I could have seen him play live.

  • I love these guys man free flowing, fun, beautiful creative music

  • jazzyjoe82, I definitely agree. This band is pure genius.

  • wow... thank you for the title, sonor1. Yeah, I been getting this tune stuck in my head for years now, but had forgotten the title...

As a former drummer, I am so moved by Ed Blackwell.. He's lyrical, and his tunes actually get played over and over in my head when I'm spacing out... heh heh...

  • The song is "Happy House" by Ornette Coleman.

  • One of the greatest bands of all time. Ed Blackwell is the man!

  • def not helias.. its charlie!!!!!!!!!
