Seriously, you would rather face someone whose ONLY concerns are profit and stock holders - and their best way to increase profit and dividends to shareholders is to deny your coverage when you are sick?
Public option is a good start but eventually becomes a mess, look into what's happening in the other countries, specially in Israel which have both privates and the government plan.
There is a good reason most countries with government plan run a single payer system.
Snowe does support the public option. It's called trigger and it's not different. It will go into effect when Obama says so and you bet he will say so in a couple years. Snowe (a liberal) knows that and I LOVE HER for it. :)
You can't sue for malpractice at all in Florida, unless you're a kid and it's you parent. Similar situation in California, you can only use if the doc rapes you. Lawyers are lazy, they only want cases where someone dies, and that is not guaranteed. Kaiser has 'arbitration' so you can't sue, you have to use an arbitrator. So tort reform isn't needed, the big money is Federal Fines for Fraud, Pfizer 2.7 billion last week for fraud. People are greedy, you can't leave them to govern healthcare
Don't you people realize that neither the Gov't nor health insurance companies are on YOUR side? REMOVE PROFIT FROM HEALTHCARE!! Get rid of ridiculous lawsuits. Judges should be deciding what is right and wrong on a case by case basis. They are JUDGES. Let them Judge. Our court system has no Cajones anymore.
The is no solution that involves more government. Government already helped insurance costs skyrocket due to subsidies to insurance companies, just like in education. This has made insurance a middle man between the doctor and patient. Having a mandated Government middle man will not solve the problem. Again the solution is the problem. Just like with the bailouts/stimulus. Too much money spent creating a bubble, so spend more money to get out of it. This is why Americans are pissed.
The democrats blame the republicans for a disagreement in thier OWN party. They cannot agree, public option, no public option, taxes, fines etc., the republicans have no say. The dems do not need the reps, they have the votes, thier real problem is the American people, most do not want the bills that have been proposed, the politicians who vote for it will have to face the voters next year.
Incorrect, and ignorant as are so many in the youtube'o'shpere. The blue dogs have no backbone, their more concerned with getting reelected than to do right by the people. Your right about the house, but not the people, most Americans want what's in the bill, just not the lies that's been spread about what's in it.
The republicans are strategically stupid if you ask me. They think that being against "socialism" is the way to win, but they underestimate the power of the young electorate.
microbrain; You say I am incorrect and ignorant, and then go on to explain that I am correct, that the democrats are fighting within thier own party. If most Americans want the bill, as you say, then why are 85% of Americans satisfied with thier health insurance, and no one has lied more than Obama about the bill, Rep. Wilson was correct, it is the law, all ER's must accept ALL patients regardless of ability to pay. If anyone is stupid, it is you, and you underestimate the elderly electorate.
Health Insurance is very different from other insurance products:
- High cost of setting up a network
- Higher paperwork cost compared to other types of insurance
- Unknown risk factors (you can get lung cancer even if you dont smoke)
- Unknown max payout and number of payouts
- Increase risk with age
Health care and insurance has never worked. It's no wonder that every country that looked at our system rejected it. We cannot as a nation stay competitive with such a system. It has to change
Being SELF-employed, I have to buy health insurance on my own - OUTRAGEOUS deductible just to keep premiums "reasonable" - which they certainly are NOT! I have to say, the concept of "health" insurance (if you really STOP & THINK about it) is insane. It makes NO sense - "health" insurance companies. Keeping this antiquated system just so we can keep (millions of) people "employed" doing make-work is NOT rational, regardless of how painful ANY transition may be in the short term.
It is a shame that such a terrible tragedy had to happen to this woman before she realized that the Republican Party is only interested in protecting the wealth of the rich and do not care at all if poor or working class families live or die.
The public option will damage our healthcare system even more. It's simply the first step toward a single-payer system, which Obama has wanted all along (see his speech to the AFL-CIO in 2003). It is the height of irony when the proponents of the public option argue that it will "increase competition" by forcing private insurers to lower their premiums--this is an example of using capitalist rhetoric to support an agenda which is inherently anti-market.
What has the private insurers add to health care, add to the health and well being of Americans?
NOTHING!
Private insurance corporate thieves ONLY TAKE from the health care system!
Political prostitutes are paid off by private insurance thieves to support the legalizing of this conspicuous crookedness of corporate thieves!
Progressive Dems, like Clinton, help to build wealth for the nation. And the republicon crooks abscond with the nation's wealth, by way of thieves in the private sector
nerd; Clinton was the second biggest liar, only Obama beats him, but, Clinton did nothing that did not benefit himself first. What do you think it cost Mark Rich for his pardon, he owed the IRS $100 million, Clinton had to get a nice piece of change for that, and the present A. G., also worked for Clinton at the time, and he confessed to looking the other way, do you think he did not get paid. Both partys are liars and thieves, wake up.

Removing profit from the health care system will also remove the health care from the system. Make sense!
You don't like insurance companies? DON'T BUY INSURANCE!
Activist judges have already far overstepped their bounds.
The solution is to get government out of the equation, ALL government, and let the people choose their way with their hard earned dollars.

We Need A Public Option included in whatever plan we end up with.
In the comment section of my profile you will find ways in which you can get more involved including phone numbers petitions and so much more.
