Definitely. People just don't have patience in music anymore. They want instant resolution. I like things that keep me guessing or music that takes a while to get there. Jazz, death metal, and post-rock experimental are the three genres that really accomplish that in my opinion, obviously classical as well but it's not as listenable on a day to day basis.
