i am one of those guys that hate to hear safety stuff but #1 rule!!!! never forge with the cut off hardy in the anvil, that is unless you dont want all your fingers. Yes I have not had that happen to me but dammit it very well could happen. Not like the guys saying hey "wear safety glasses" or what ever. Take out the hot cut man.
Seriously never forge with the cut-off hardy on the anvil. It could mess up the diameter of the circle and can backfire to
Your hand causing a vast amount of pressure which will cut off circulation and can result in massive pain.

Take the cut-off tool out of the hardy hole when your not using it! A few seconds to take it out could save you hand a lot of damage.
