1976 was by far the worst year for the caddy 500. only 190 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of tourque compared to 400hp and 550 lb-ft of tourque when it first was introduced in 1970

true that but the engines had to be choked due to emmission standarts but the numbers given are only official numbers you easily find thme to be significantly higher in reality plus with a lil' minor mods these giant engines make way more power. greetings from germany.
