i see deer all the time in my school grounds. i live in a small village in Bergen County, NJ.

He is really cute. Baby deer are often left alone during the day so that they may learn to fend for themselves. Most likely the mother is nearby and not dead. Rare for mom to abandon their young! Just like humans! Spring is a common time to find baby deer wandering alone. Help only if it appears in danger, sick, or injured.
