That audience is terrible. Probably one of the worst I've seen yet. I know some countires think it's not neccessary to go overboard with applause but a SMALL applause is just ridiculous.

degeorgetitanic you are talking a load of crap. A small applause is NOT like a standing ovation! Can't you tell the difference?? And what you're saying is not true. Other times I've seen Willemijn belting her LUNGS out the audience went insane!!

German's aren't typically crazy with applause. It's still respectful when they clap slowly.

@Julia96ilu nah, it's actually kind of sad but most Germans I know (and of course not everyone) are hesitant with applause. Must be something cultural, but when I was in America, I was surprised at how loud people clap and so I noticed a difference. Maybe some of them did not enjoy it as much. :)

About the small applause, people from America forget that other countries dont believe its tastful to go fully insane after a number. A small applause typically in theater means a standing O to us.

Having a small amount of applause to us would sound like they didn't enjoy it or were just being rude.

I understand not going overly insane but a fair amount of applause is good.

I think the reason for the applause varietes are:

Last shows of performers: fans come and sometimes even give standing ovations right after EVERY song.

Normal shows: Fans AND 'first-viewers' come and applaud hardly but not with standing Os apart from the end.

Stuff like this: Ppl who HATE musicals may watch this.

and THAT may be the reason for that small applause. But there's one thing I don't understand: After a performance like this of WILLEMIJN VERKAIK (!!) and such a freakin AWESOME end-tone even musical-haters should give more applause. This was the applause for somebody saying 'And now you'll see the band (name no one knows) with their new song (which no one knows as well)! But never ever a standing O !!!!!

Sorry but I really hate when ppl tell lies about Germany...

The camera position and the lighting reveal the whole lift apparatus! Loot at 6:21 and you can totally see Willemijn getting into the lift and making sure it's secured!

as far as i know, all casts from the Shows in Germany have to bring pre-recorded Tracks! It would take too long to rehearse such Galas with 20 different acts, and equipment...

Als ichs im TV gesehen habe fand ichs nicht so toll, ich war ehrlich gesagt etwas schockiert, ich war schon sehr oft in der Show und fand diesen Auftritt im TV schrecklich...
