When I hear this song I am sadden by it. I feel a deep connection to my people from long time past. This song teleports me to a time when blacks where enslaved, and have very little possessions. One of the most valuable was song and this just makes me see into the past, in the Deep South. Waking to the sun rested and at peace with self. Just before the task of the long hard day befalls them.
