  • For people who are saying it could be either Luke or Asch, notice how the sword on his back is carried, that's how Luke always carried his sword.

  • Luke's voice is the same as sasuke.......

  • @jevonian It's the same VA that plays both.

  • @jevonian never heard of Yuri Lowenthal?

  • Just a stab at this: Luke received asche's "Spirit" when asche died, and then when luke was dissappearing, his spirit returned to asche's body, which was healed? In other words, they were split, lived separate lives and then, in the end, became one again. Though Luke is still luke because asche already became a part of him? :/

  • @MetalSmith You got it

  • Why is Jade so pale?

  • First time I see tear cry😃

  • im confused O_O who was there at the end ? Asch or Luke ? if both can someone tell me how @_@ ? im SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CONFUSED !

  • @FaeezTheAnimeLover Luke , look at his goddamn hair =='' .

  • @ResidentDemon00 owh right i forgot , Asch's real name is Luke , he changed it so Real Luke and Replica Luke are one again o.o ?

  • @FaeezTheAnimeLover your not alone i dont get it ether im so confused it feels like my head eat itself

  • @FaeezTheAnimeLover Asch real name was Luke, but he don't like it changed to Asch, and Asch is the real Luke, the Replika of Luke joined with the Real Luke Spirit, turned into a perfect form Of Luke, Now they/he is the real Luke Now

  • @TheNeroDaniel got it

  • anyone noticed Tear's lips was so pink that she looked like she wored lipsticks XD ? lol

  • I love this anime so much mostly the ending was so sad/happy but i think the voice at the end is Asch's voice not Luke's

  • I just beat this game last night.... even though I knew exactly what was going to happen, (because I watched the anime first), I began crying. In my opinion this ending was way more emotional than the anime ending. :3

  • what's the name of the song that's playing during the credits and pics??

  • i really wanna know what's the content of yulia's seventh score. anybody would like to help?i already knew that the seventh score content was about the destruction of the world. but i wanna know the messages written on that seventh score

  • I read all kinds of interpretations about the ending and it's really just how you interpret everything.

    Here's how I see it.

Asch passed the torch to Luke when he died, that's why he said "The rest is up to you". When they freed Lorelei, Lorelei wanted to reward Luke and Asch. Since Luke's body was dying (seperation of Fonons) and Asch was done (He already recognized Luke as the "reak" Luke); Luke was given Asch's body.

  • @enzo2123 I know the contamination side quests said that Asch will live no matter what, and also the evidence with Star and his replica. But I just have to point out, and everyone seems to forget. Luke and Asch's situation is not really the same as Star and his replica. Their situation includes this nigga Lorelei. So...you can't really use the others as examples.

  • there is only one thing that irritates me in TOTA, it is that when you have watched the ending you see the most awesome costume for luke but knowing you will never get it thats what really sucks. but it was one off the most awesome games ive ever played, i really enjoyed it.

  • I played Symphonia, I gave it a 10/10 and the title of Best Game Ever. Then I played Vesperia, and surprise! It was as good as Symphonia. Then I heard about Abyss, I even considered buying a 2nd hand american PS2 to play this. But then it came out on the 3DS and I have to say... if ToS and ToV have a 10/10, this gets a 11/10. Absolutely EPIC game!

  • And jade only smile for about 3 seconds for the whole game

  • @feckno1 I think he smiled a lot....... except this is the only one that's sincere. XD

  • Everyone goes on and on about it being a merge between Luke and Asch.. But the whole appearance makes me believe (at least a part of) Lorelei is a part of him (them?) too, if it is indeed a merge. If Lorelei were truely sent to the Fon belt, there would be no need to summon him any longer and the Key of Lorelei would disappear too. That's my guess, anyhow.

On a side note.. it wouldn't surprise me if Lorelei turns out to be the equivalent to the summon spirit Origin.

  • @TheLordDhaos Now that is a theory I haven't heard before. TBH I hate how ambiguous the ending is. I'm the type that likes to be certain about things and even though it pretty certain that it's Luke or at the very least a Luke-Asch merge (although if it's the latter Luke seems more in control) it still bothers me that we don't know for sure.

  • I took this game for 3DS.

Never played a Tales game, never informed about it. I just felt like I had to buy it.

Now I can say that this was the best game I have played in the past years.

Awesome storyline, characters, feelings... there is everything a gdr... no, a videogame should have.

    10/10

  • as much as I want a sequel, it doesn't need one.

the ending is perfect, and really couldn't be better. anything else added to it, would ruin it imo.

  • If they had a sequel with Asch/Luke, it could be pretty funny with Luke as the main personality and Asch chiming in to make fun of him.

  • i noticed that asch has sasuke uchiha's english dubbed voice

  • So then, Luke and Asch became one being then huh? If they make a sequel it has to be as well-executed as the first one. We don't need another Dawn of The New World.

  • So how come Luke-Asch, I'm just going to call him Lasch for now, doesn't look like that in Tales of The World: Radiant Mythology?

  • Anyone else weirded out by the fact that Tear has lipstick on in a few of the frames? Besides being unlike her, how did no one notice that?

  • I just beat this game, it took me ages to find the game, and it was worth the hunt... It was such a great game...

  • is there a name for the piano part in the beginning

  • Can someone tell me the name of the last song :D the pinao one thanks and this ending always makes me cry ;A;

  • @Icezwind It's called "Overflowing Emotions, Reunion"

  • am i the only one who pauses to see luke's new face? :3

  • I'VE WATCHED THIS ENDING A LOT OF TIMES ALREADY BUT, THIS SCENE NEVER REALLY FAILS TO MAKE ME CRY. It's so touching, y'know? :'( Oh how I love this Tales game! This is definitely the best Tales Game!

  • @ayameyokomi yeah no doubt. strictly gameplay/battle-wise, vesperia is better, but in every other facet abyss is win.

  • @jifjifji me too! i want to see Luke and Tear's love story unfold.. :'3

  • @jifjifji there's already an anime of this [not a sequel though]

  • thumbs up if you think guy looks like flynns twin brother

  • oh yeah, and jade is by far the coolest tales mage.

  • @LectricSheepz I couldn't agree more! Jade is so cool!

  • IMO it was Asch and Luke merged... But I can't help but think that it's just Luke since he promised Tear that he would come back =) Tear's tears didn't flow because of nothing.

  • @ayameyokomi true....although luke did make asch promise that he wouldn't die so there could be a reference there. but yeah I still can't imagine it not being luke. it just.....yeah.

  • @LectricSheepz true .. ^^ but tear crying and luke saying he promised someone in front of tear is.. yeah :)

  • @ayameyokomi yeah agreed. damn it now I want to get this out and play it again.......ahhhh stupid anthropology paper!!!

  • its obviously luke since he references his promise to return.....and i mean, come on. the entire scene would not make much sense if it was asch.

  • I think that the best clue is the posistion of the Key of Lorelei. He's Luke undoubtly

  • The person that returned was Luke Fon Fabre. (May look like an obvious comment but really, think about that). :P

  • I think Luke and Asch fused together. Maybe theyre personalitys fused together, so that Luke and Asch are one being again, with all the memories of them together. I don't like that ending. I (sorry) just want Asch to dissapear, he was stupid. XD

  • @ichigo4chan i think your kinda right or well what i think is that asch being dead and luke alive. luke was transfered to asch's body so he technically wouldnt be a replica anymore.... or his body wouldnt..... XD idk

  • @gokucrazy2 But Asch moved when Luke started to vanish. Oh well, I want Luke to be alive, Asch is dump. GTFO, ASCH! xD Oh, and Luke's long hair with the orange tips was way cooler then just Asch's dark red hair he has now.

  • @ichigo4chan hmm luke couldve moved asch O_O nah or maybe replica and original fused XD like you said who knows MAKE A SEQUEL NAMCO XD

  • @gokucrazy2 Yeah, it was the wind blowing! xD Oh, please! I'm totally in for a sequel! Or for another Tales of the Abyss The abridged series XD

  • @ichigo4chan If it makes you feel better, there's a scene between Jade and Dist saying that all that will remain of Luke is his memories, soooo it could be basically Luke in Asch's body. The main reason i think this is because Luke and Asch merging kinda goes against Luke's discovery that Asch and he were different people, a lot of the game was made up of Luke trying to figure himself out. It's definitely not just Asch due to mentioning the promise at the end. That's what i think anyway :)

  • @LadyLiquidConfidence Well, thanks for expressing your opinion. But this whole ending is against everything Luke tried to accomplisch. As you said, the whole game was about him figuring out his own personality and that he is a seperate being, too. Even his clothes resemeled that! And now, at the end, they merge, being one person again. Namco, that doesn't make ANY sense! But thanks for your concern :)

  • The ending is too shady. We need a sequel now... also, ain't Asch's story too sad? I mean, he lost his life to someone just like him, and in the end, he was just the remnants of Luke(or the leftovers). And seeing Luke having such low self-esteem must have been even more painful. Poor Asch, I feel so bad for laughing at his stupid armor... sorry, dood.

  • In my opinion, Tear could have done without the lipstick in that one moment but maybe that's just me. This was my second favorite scene in the game, after Asch's death.

  • so at the end was that Luke or Asch or both of them combined?

  • @GamerGirl427 It's up to the player to decide. The ending is deliberately ambiguous so everyone could decide on their own interpretation of the ending.

  • I still say that this game was the best Tales Game in terms of story-line, characters, and messages. It was a masterpiece.

  • @Makilore It was fantastic in every way. Characters with personality, great Music, great gameplay, powerful Story. I want more!

  • @SumireFlower Oh god, me too! You know what would be awesome? If they had an easter egg in another tales game, like a wedding cake or something, with characters that look like Luke and Tear on them and the caption read something like, "For the couple that reunited despite the interference of destiny." That would be SO kickass, I could die happy!

  • @Makilore what about Tales of Legendia? that was pretty good game lol

  • @adrian11011992 It wasn't a bad game, but the story was something I'd seen before and the presentation was a little...animeish at times. I enjoy Legendia, more for it's individual characters like Moses and Jay and Grune, rather then the whole of the story they're apart of.

  • @Makilore Ah, I see wat you mean. I've been viewing Tales of the Abyss for quite some time now, and I'm interested in to playing this game. it actually looks pretty cool

  • @adrian11011992 YOu should try it out. It's fantastic!

  • @Makilore Agreed. I'd go as far as to say "Best RPG ever."

  • @SeraphimSwordmaster Yeah, well, my favorite RPG of all time almost got beaten by this game, but what I can say, Lunar has major Nostalgia and feel good value for me. But Tales of the Abyss comes SUPER close.

  • @Makilore I'm in a similar position myself, although in kind of a hindsight one. I think that other RPG's have done technically -better- than Abyss (Xenoblade, for example, is one of the few games I'd ever give a perfect score to: I can't say the same for Abyss) yet they haven't replaced Abyss as the best in my heart.

There's just so much charm to it. It's such a wonderful story.

  • @SeraphimSwordmaster I will ALWAYS love Abyss. To me, it's one of the best RPGs I've played, and the best Tales game. To each his own. For me, this will always be tied with number one!

  • I can't believe I've forgotten how lovely the ending to Abyss was. Shame on me!
