  • 10 people must have 12:00 flashing throughout their house LOL

  • As someone who works in IT it's completely like this. Sometimes it's easier to just talk to an 8 year old

  • Very true

    itsupportprices.co.uk

  • What does he say just after he says 'buy an iMac'?

  • @tinyliney123 It's a computer built especially for idi- mommies and daddies.

  • Now i know what Tech Support does when you called them for help. The "HOLD" button is there best friend, sounds stupid isn't it. They always put the customer on hold, sometimes they annoy us with a bunch of questions, that doesn't help our queries.

  • so next time you call tech support and think you're angry because you cant get something to work think about how they feel trying to teach your dumb ass. how would you feel if i couldn't get my silent movie to play on my 8mm projector and called you every two seconds about it

  • i worked tech support for a software company whos policy was to help with annnnny problems the caller had with their computer even if it wasnt remotely related to the software(which was aimed mostly toward the elderly and incompetent apparently). so im on a one hour training call session which they offered to new buyers and 2 hours later we had to connect to his computer to install and open the software. seriously if you are that incompetent DO NOT EVEN BUY A FUCKING COMPUTER.

  • i work for a banking call center , its the same across the board !

  • It's funny because its true.

  • i can relate to this!

  • Omgz, effing classic.

  • 10 "Users" have seen this video!

  • Does anyone know how to make the htc touch pro 2 sprint work for att?? any ideas or websites?

  • hhahahaha tell him to get an imac

  • Lovely video...very well described

  • i work as an internet support technician you have no idea how many times this happens

  • Macs are built for mummies, daddies and hipsters.

  • Try this one with the transcribe function

  • LOL at 2:39 the guy on the far right isn't liking it AT ALL!

  • Yeah try explaining VOIP to a retiree.>>>>>> WOW or even better why they don't want AOL anymore! Install DSL and the customer wants me to reinstall their dial up!!!

  • "Is there a child in the house?" hahahahaha

  • @int3rl0per You moron, it is about mommys and daddys. The kid Beth understands it, so she has learnt it somewhere. Mommys and daddys can't go to Highschool now. Get the joke...

  • @ramsay11111 I got the joke, I was suggesting a long-term solution against ignorance of computers. Try asking the average teenager what 'downloading' means, what a browser is (surprisingly many would answer 'google'), what a hard drive looks like, what a processor is, what's the difference between RAM and disk space or (for really blank stares) ask them how a computer program is executed.

Most random people, regardless of age, will not know the answers. Better education is needed.

  • I must say it's 100% truth, :) Feeling so sorry for the ISP's and just help desk operators, because they can be in the following situation nearly every single day of their stressful-job, :)

  • Do to budget cuts and outsourcing to India Wes had no option but to become a comedian.

  • Keep worming Asian girls # lushfmlk.info #

  • PEBCAK DILLIGAF BABY!!! Gawd I remember this crap!

  • technology today is so simple that even the most non technical oriented person can use them only if they are reading they're manuals. otherwise technology can only get easier by paying somebody to read their manuals for them...and TAKE NOTE: you just have to pay...thank lord for the dumbos i have a job

  • My dad used to have his own ISP company, he had people who didn't even have their computers plugged in wondering why it wouldn't turn on.

  • @vargulf19 That is just sad

  • @AK1337H It really is, that's why he ended up selling it. He couldn't deal and quite frankly I can't blame him. The worst part is these people would end up pissed at him because they couldn't figure out the step by step instructions. The only way I would work tech support is if I put a warning label "Warning, by calling this number you agree to STFU and get yelled at and made fun of"

  • The Dead Troll guys are awesome. Just wish they updated their site or at least keep up with the videos. This is funny nonetheless.

  • awesome .. lol

  • just got a job doing tech support and WOW he captured this perfectly.

  • i love it. watching while i am taking a call for wifi support.

  • awesome

  • big black nothing :D

  • nice ... every day life my friends

  • If a person doesn't know what operating system they have, or what browser they use to surf the Internet, it's like going into a car dealer and buying a car without knowing the model or how many horsepower the engine has. People really should educate themselves on the most basic of information. I love tech support though, you really do hear the funniest stories.

  • Simply one word.......U know a lot.... comp is not or u ....u can clap at ur self

  • This is so true... so painfully true...

  • honestly i tried to laugh but i couldnt. this just wasnt funny

  • LOL!

  • Holy shit, I've experienced similar issues with customers when I used to work for tech support.

  • OMG didnt seen this one yet but its just so freaking hilarious and so true xD

  • I'm in tech support right now with a customer on hold, lol.

  • lol and I am a supervisor at technical support and that is true .... I am also on hold :)

  • @rebdomine1 me too!!!!

  • Anyone know the name of this guy ?

  • Wes Borg ;)

  • Eight years later, this video is still hilarious, and still frighteningly accurate... I watch it at work, between phone calls :-)

  • I did that for 15 months now. yea that's right 15 months full time. and I'm still sane. and I never lost control.

  • Patience is the key :)

  • Why do not get have the sound only when I open youtube video's?

  • well, that sounds like a serious problem you have, you might just need to call your daughter to see if she can fix it, or just go to the store and buy yourself an iMac.

  • I work as an internet tech and I am just AMAZED at how *&%#@^&* these people are when it comes to internet. This video is SO dead on!!! There is NOT ONE part that is over done.....this is all pretty much right on the money!!! Thank you for making this video. I will watch it when Im having a bad day at work!

  • I blame Microsoft and the general trend of trying to make computers 'easy'. Non-technical people come to regard the machine as something unfathomably complex, even arcane, and the complex GUIs obfuscate the true operations of the computer even further. When the people can't see the logic, they can't understand the machine. People fear what they don't understand, it's a biological survival trait.

We'd need to teach computer science in primary and high school to get rid of the problem.

  • computing in primary? sounds like a good idea except young people usually aren't that bad with computers. teaching computer at school is off course a good long term solution but it doesn't help in short term. computing is a new technology. The computing illiteracy problem should weaken with time "just like normal illiteracy"

  • Not computer use, but computer science and in-depth look at the workings of computers. Go through the fundamentals of how computers work in primary school - stuff like what a program/algorithm is, how computers process data, what components make up a computer (cpu, memory, storage, i/o), what bugs are and how exploits and viruses work.

Sounds hard, but really isn't. This is stuff everybody can understand, and would work wonders for de-mystifying the magic box with the pretty moving pictures.

  • I don't really like the expression computer science sense it's more like a technologies than a science, but I see what you mean. Learning the general mechanism inside computers would be useful. they could even teach more technology in general.

be careful when you say it's not hard though. Not that I find it hard myself, but what's easy for someone can be impossible for someone else. those math courses were so easy at school!! Yet what about so many people failing?

  • Math has gotchas and pitfalls, and requires ability for abstract problem solving. An introduction to computer tech would only require basic logic and resoning and some memorisation.

Of course, programming and system design (and related disciplines) require both talent and continuous study and practice (I know, it's how I make a living), but simply knowing the difference between "download" and "upload" and knowing what a hard drive is only requires not having late-stage alzheimer's.

  • You're not talking about computer science, you're talking about IT. Very different.

  • @int3rl0per Um, I thought schools did that. They do in Canada, at least.

  • @int3rl0per It may seem like a good idea, but people do make profits out of people who are having computer issues. That's why we have IT departments.

  • @SkinnerIJA Teaching people abou

  • @int3rl0per

How about actually *making* computers simple instead of trying to cover up the complications?

Wouldn't it be nice to just plug one cable and you have internet right out of the box? Phones basically work that way. Why aren't we there yet?

Maybe 'cause a lot of IT elitists and money grubbers would be out of business...

  • @int3rl0per I understand it just fine. it doesn't take years to learn computers, you can spend a few weeks browsing through the millions of youtube videos or do multiple google searches to learn. That is how I did it, and I don't see my self as some kind of genius, I am just an average guy.

  • @int3rl0per well said my friend

  • @int3rl0per

in what country they dont teach? man i was 14 and we had programming and photoshop and normal office program tutorials in Finnish public school

  • Comment removed

  • @int3rl0per

Most people that call technical support aren't afraid of their computer. They do expect it to work. Also, I've taken calls from people who are experts in computer science, and most of the type they are excellent at programming and development but really don't know much about the hardware of the computer, or much about networks, and its often harder to support them because they like to argue rather than doing one or two little steps troubleshooting steps that would fix their issue.

  • @int3rl0per they already ARE teachng IT in schools you moron, for over 10yrs. Don't blame microsoft for your stupidity. I mean take cars, they have existed for YEARS now its your own fault for not taking up a short course and learning about the existing technology. Don't blame anyone else for your car dying.

pcs ARE easy to use, people use the selling points apple is easy to use...wtf?? easy compared to what?? a rock and stick? If you're too dumb to learn give up.life is way harder

  • As a tech support rep., it cannot get closer to the real thing! EVER!

    This guy just nailed it!

  • AS TECH SUPPORT REP, I could NOT agree more, especially the throwing of the chair. I have almost launched one several times

  • Working for internet technical support, I am definitely the guy that throws his headset and kicks his chair. This is amazing. Hilarious. Perfect.

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • at work right now, this is awesome

  • It's funny because it's true. I have to go thru this everyday. you'd be amazed how long i spend with a person explaining what a power cord is...seriously

  • Beth FTW

  • Win

  • LOL awesome, how old is this video?

  • the ending was priceless

  • I work for AT&T Tech DSL Support, i feel you!

  • holy shit i laughed hard :D

  • His name is Wes Borg, he's a member of the Canadian comedy troupe called Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie. They're quite funny, look up their other stuff

  • man golden oldie

    you gotta love this

    genius

  • this an old video, like 9 years?

  • I am glad someone else understands the hell we techies go through.

    keep on postin man!

  • I don't think people get that this is pretty much spot on for every day calls.

  • you guys serious?

  • Dead serious. Tech support is a rough job.

  • The average turnover timeframe for tech support is somewhere around 6 months before you go insane and kill yourself or quit your job.

  • amen to that! :)

  • @raineysummer got that right!

  • @raineysummer

    got that right!

  • this is great. what is his name?

    dose he own a show?

  • Awesome...my day a day carbon copied

  • iMac especially made for idi... Mummies and Daddies! Priceless

  • One day I hit a combination of keys that rotated my screen 90 degrees. I spent 40 or so minutes on the help line to get it back to normal.

Then I checked on internet and found many people who had the same problem. It turns out that there is an absurd XP program "Graphic Options-Rotation". Why didn't the help line know that? I could've corrected the problem in five minutes.

  • they do know it, they just spend so much time with idiots, that by making it over complicated hope to drive us away.

  • Working a help desk for about 5 months at this point, I can safely say, you are right. This video is deadly accurate too.

  • I work at a call center and this video is right on the money.

  • It was that exact type of stress that made me leave "Tech Support"...

    Katalyzt

  • dont put ur name at the end of the comment, we can tell who wrote it its at the top of the comment. Idi....r u a mom or a dad?

  • LOL!

  • hah, nice!

  • Sad. I work at a call center and it's pretty much the same.. except i dont support internet and we dont get to lounge that much. ppl calling cuz they locked keys in the trunk of their car, pc smoking and left running for hours.. etc..

  • Funny...thanks for the laugh today.

    Holly Powell

  • Hilarious! Great Job! I love it.

    Debbie Galle

  • This is so funny!

  • out of sync :S
