Have I previously commented on this, can't remember. As a youth I was enchanted with Mantovani's singing strings sound...this was the first record I ever bought, I used to wind up the gramophone and place the needle on the grooves...wonderful, thank you for posting.
This song is in a book my mom has of classical piano music, and she would play this song when I was a child, and my brother and I would dance. When I was a teenager, I learned to play it, also (though not this fast)
One could really get hurt "dancing" to this in those mobile office chairs with the plastic wheels on marble floors...that is, if one were moved to do that, that is. :)
Went from listening to the Mah na Mah na song (classic) not the sesame street version and heard this being interplayed with it and woosh, off to wiki to find the name of it and here I am! Amazing freaking time we live in!!!
BEAUTIFUL MARVELLOUS. brilliantl music by Mantovani. Cant remember how many times keep hitting the repeat button. Thanks for posting. Greetings from Sri Lanka
about a year and a half ago i was in an asian buffet restaurant and i heard this song. i wanted to know the song's name, but there were no lyrics to facilitate a google search for the title. then i heard the opening bars cited in umiliani's "mah na mah na" and by way of wikipedia discovered that the name of the song is "swedish rhapsody." and now here i am. the end.
@wallofvideo -- Congratulations on your successful search. You were very resourceful ! It's hard to find the titles of instrumental tunes (as I well know from my own experience).

Dave here. For some reason I imagine some Englishman saying, "I say, this is great fun!" I love the fullness of the concert hall sound. So rich! You should hear Mantovani's rendition of Camptown Races on his "American Scene" LP!
I was much charmed by this light music played during a inter-house drama competition in my secondary school in the late 60s. Every piece of favorite music evokes a lasting memory, and this is it.
Back in the early 70's my parents had all the Motovani 8 tracks in the living room Panasonic player. I remember the wonderful "background" music Mom especially for house guests, would ask me to play. So sweet and relaxing. I was more into Alice Cooper then. God bless Mom.
I remember this tune being at the top of Jack Jackson's Hit Parade on Sunday evenings on Radio Luxembourg. It was there for months on end. A con really because the play list was at that time (mid-1950s) compiled from sales of sheet music!
This piece of music was frequently played on Irish radio in the fifties . It is wonderful to hear it again, it reminds me of long hot summer days ,during long summer holiday from school. We children often danced around the kitchen with my Mother when we heard it.
"...Eins zwo drei sechs sieben sieben acht..." Without that, the tune is too sweet.

From the land of the Midnight sun, comes this originally serious music of Hugo Alfvén, a great composer of the classic kind of swedish romanticism.
Alfvén hated one instrument, and that was the accordion, so it's reallt funny to hear his piece here actually played on accordion.
