THANK GOD I WAS THERE IN THE DAY AND WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE SEEN THE MIGHTY CLASH MANY TIMES!! IT SURE SHOWS THE PURE DROSS THE KIDS LISTEN TO NOW !! JUST WEAR YOUR JEANS ROUND YOUR ASS A BASEBALL CAP AND PRETEND YOUR SOME KIND OF SOME PLASTIC FUCKING GANGSTER U GOTTA RECORD DEAL EITHER THAT OR GO ON ONE OF THE ANTI CHRIST COWELLS REALITY SHOWS !! FUCK ME I PITY THE KIDS OF TODAY !!! RIP JOE STRUMMER !!!!!
@danielscissorhandsKool I remember the show when I was young The Clash did two songs !..do you have the other? Thanks for the post ..The Clash the only band hat matters..I rated faved
@danielscissorhands The Beer ?...in past Ron Howard played it straight and was always milk toast ..so on this show he grabs a beer opens and drinks it to prove that he was a man ..it was funny.. happy days yes and other shows ..I hope it ws this show
@nuwavegurl Yes, they also did Should I Stay or Should I go. Maybe I'll upload that one too. Have to be careful cuz i already have 1 copyright strike - which means I can no longer upload videos as "unlisted" (semi-private).
:-P
Did Ron drink a beer? Umm... not sure. Maybe a couple. But I think he's just naturally hyper like that. lol. Did u ever watch happy days?
Hello! Thanks so much for the upload. Do you happen to have the uncut version of the interview where Strummer is calling everything a con?? That is pure genius. Thanks!!
@tripodswordfish I wish! But that is how Much Music edited the interview when they originally aired it. So, you would have to somehow find the people at Much Music, in Canada, and see if anyone at the station has the entire interview. If you do, let me know!! Cheers. And you are welcome. :-) Ihave been thinking of re-doing this with a better quality version of the performance on SNL, but don't know if it will pass the copyrighters.
@danielscissorhands Thanks so much! I might just investigate.... I'll let you know if anything is promising. Yea, the quality isn't too bad though, all things considered, but never know what the copyrighters will catch :'/ But thanks again for the info!!
i know people have said it before but it's amazing how this particular variety show has gone from life-changing, amazing music like the clash to justin bieber
@goonchistaw Thanks! I kind of regret not ripping a higher quality version of the snl performance off a dvd I have (instead of using a version I found online) and remixing it with those interviews. Might redo it, but i am scared of getting copyright strikes. I already have one. And it means I am not allowed to post "unlisted" videos on this account.
ps: check out my joe strummer interview on my channel. :-D
@calboy64 Well technically not the "real Clash." I did my research, and that's Terry Chimes on drums. He replaced Topper in April of 1982, and the Clash appeared on SNL in October of 1982. Then Pete Howard replaced Terry Chimes in Feb/March of 1983. But then again, Terry was their original drummer. So I guess you could still call it the real Clash. :)
@grimmmm1 Well then you are talking to people who don't know very much about music, I guess. Or, good music that is. Yeah, I know the MIA song Paper Planes. It's ok.
@PBANDSNOW It ain't so rare these days mate, it has been circulating now for many years. They did 2 tracks during this SNL appearance, the other ttrack was Should I Stay Or Should I Go.
Wow! Thx 4 posting this live version of my best-fave Clash song! B-)

Such an amazing song, probably one of their best. It almost seems like a fitting end to the Clash, the only band that mattered.

Jones is a dancing machine.
Anyway, one of my favorite Clash songs. The other favorites are all the rest.
