You have an amazing home and a wonderful family. I want a tire packer, too. I wonder what earthship design is appropriate in the hot, humid tropics prone to flooding, typhoons, and volcanic eruption. The hut looks very stable, but it might get waterlogged and moldy in our climate.
@northriver1000 OH! if you put a "h t t p : / /" (delete spaces and quotation marks!!!) in front of that link of yours, it will make it clickable too ;-)
We built the tire press out of components we had available to us; it consists of a short steel hydraulic cylinder, an electric hydraulic power pack, two curved steel plates and some welding. I talked about it a few times on the website ... details can be found at wwwdarfieldearthshipcom. If you look under the construction->tires category there are a few posts on it ... I would post the actual link but youtube does not seem to allow url's in comments?
@northriver1000 Youtube lets you put the link in your video's description, if you'd still be willing to :) ... (your comment explains how to get there fine tho, but it might help others to put the link if not too much trouble for you)
Please tell us about the hydraulic packing system you used: where did you rent/buy/borrow it, what are its components, details about its use, amount of time it required per tire, etc.
