thank you! Nowhere else has anyone explained how to start and reverse the knot. They all seem to assume the viewer has picked up a tatting shuttle before.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have been trying to learn shuttle tatting from books and other videos, but yours is the first to go slowly enough for me to see what is happening. It was a great idea to use the thick, red thread against the black background; it made it very easy for me to see and understand where the thread was going on each pass. Now, I can really begin to learn.
