The grundig350 has excellent AM/ FM/ SW reception and it is worth the $99.99 I paid for it. But the Amp. in it is weak for getting a decent volume on the weak stations. The CCrane-EP cost me $69.99. It has AM/ FM only, but that's ok with me because there is nothing good on SW anyhow. The CCrane-EP tunes in AM slightly better than the grundig350 and AM is what I usually listen to.
I was looking to get a good price on this radio and I finally had a $65 great deal! on a sale after Black Friday....Thanks to my wife that took me to Radio Shack.....
i just picked up one of these (350dl) from the shack for 106 all in found it might be a return when i pulled it out of the box it had batteries in it and stuff..they have no more at store here. i really love it and its a keeper but, i notice (on rod antenna) that at 20 megs and into 27 megs (cb band,) sensitivity drops out to almost no air noise at all...is this same thing on yours?
estos radios grunding, son alemanes, y son muy precisos, YO TENGO UNO que compre en la triendas radioshack, en 1,800 pesos, mexicanos, salen muy buenos para el que le gusta la onda corta esto es lo maximo
i used to have a radio like this one but silver till some jurk decided to push it off the counter and broke it. it was a great radio. it pulled in weak station from other cities on fm and am
I've been thinking about getting this radio (as my first SW) and was wondering if you had any trouble with drift. I read that this radio can have some problematic drift, mainly in SW.
@Shalashaska0192 I never knew exactly what drift referred to, but this radio pulls in the frequencies alright, However, the tuning is almost impossible to get dead on frequency and the tuning know will move slightly after you let go of it. I hate the tuning. Besides, as with all shortwave the constantly changing atmospheric conditions will cause even the strong SW stations to fade. I would not recommend it to anyone. Grundig makes good radios, but this isn't one of them.
Thanks for the video. It's always nice to see what other people are using for shortwave radios. I have been a shortwave listener for 25 years and you know it's as exciting as it was when I began 25 years ago. There's nothing like listening to the world. The receiver I use is a Yaesu FRG-8800 communications receiver which covers all the shortwave and amateur radio as well. The antenna is an alpha Delta DX slope 60ft. long wire raised about 25 feet in the air.
I bought this radio and I like it. The only problem is I am in a basement suite and the landlords dont seem happ about an antenna on the fence. Theres no big trees here either. I pretty much have to take it somewhere else to get good reception.
Thanks for the video. I have been eyeing this in the store. $100 right now. My only concern is what I could be missing below 3000khz. This radio goes from 3mhz and up right?
I'm on my second one going on my third. Yep 2 broke! The first was due to power surge and the second one, well, the amp died. I'm going to purchase my third tomorrow as the sound is just incredible. I've never heard AM / SW sound so good! FM sounds good too.
*found your video searching for grundig s350dl problems lol!
thanks for the comments it is a great little radio, i also have a ccradio sw that i bought about 3 months ago, works excellent also. i'll have a video up here of that little radio in the future also.
That's a nice little radio. Have you tried adding some sort of long wire antenna to it? You'd be amazed how much stronger stations come in. I love the "Retro" look of this unit.
Alot of resources on the internet of Shortwave Schedules out there. Take Care
yes i have a longwire antenna i use it all the time, i have about 50 feet or so and it runs from my table out to through the door, and runs to a tree out to the back of the house. works great i was hearing very long distance stations with the longwire, thanks for the comments
