and i'm NOT saying we should be focusing on this.. why can't we have a prosecution of a slimy Senator without it being badgered by the mainstream media!!?
kick the man out, try him.. whatever! just stop with the distractions! let's focus on the important things!
Like when the Republicans impeached Bill Clinton for getting a blowjob... that kind of distraction?
The 'sex' part of this scandal isn't what's bothersome (who really cares)... the problem is that he pulled strings to get rid of the husband of the woman he had an affair with, and the guy ended up in a lobbying firm.
According to ethics laws, you cannot immediately go from assisting a congressman to becoming a lobbyist (huge conflict of interest). That's the problem, not sex.
You are absolutely right. I'm just upset about living in a police state, really ethics are the root of the problem. If only we had some representatives to vote to stop corruption and lobbying. love and peaceful resistance.
thanks for the thoughtful reply phnixlady... though I replied to your post (and may have sounded a bit hostile), my comment was made in general. :)
Unfortunately politics is too political to ever be rid of lobbyists, especially since giving money has been equated to 'free speech'... although I think giving money directly to congressmen should be considered bribery.
I really hope the Republicans get it together... the GOP is fizzling out fast. We need balance in our government.
