@hope11ification It doesn't what crime or how innocent you are. If you are responsive and compliance, you will be treated with dignity. If you are intoxicated, shouting, and pushy, you will be going down hard.
@propmk You did hear the part where they said he had a weapons marker didn't you? That means he's been caught carrying offensive weapons before. And that he was wandering round an area full of shops and restaurants. And that he was drunk. Besides, he was hardly helpful! There wasn't any reason I could see for him to kick off like that, and if he hadn't, he would have been treated very differently. As for his "I have broken no law", I think at least one is broken by his obnoxious behavior...
Why are people saying the police were wrong to arrest the man? Seriously, he was intoxicated with a Chainsaw - that is a dangerous combination. if you have a chainsaw with its guard on or better yet being held in some kind of container there isn't much to worry about. If there's alcohol involved and you're just carrying it around, you could easily be a danger to the public.
Policing may not make much sense at times but I'd prefer them seeming nonsensical to not having them at all.
"We are there to protect him and then everybody else, Im not a nazi" First of all, he wasnt threatening anybody. ITs not ilegal to carry a chainsaw. They couldve easily checked out his story to see he really was who he said he was.
Secondly...he had to justify himself as to not being a nazi? Well then.
I have a whole safe full of sporting and assault rifles. I am also a responsible gun owner. I suppose to a British LEO I might as well be J.W. Gacy. What was that one song from NWA? I think its appropriate for these pigs.
so in the UK, are chainsaw's shutoff devices disabled? or are they designed for throwing or rending flesh or something? im just trying to understand why a guy thought it would be necessary to taze a gentleman for carrying a chainsaw that was off, while "using the car as cover"...
im applying to be a special and this seems a bit excessive with the chainsaw. yes respond, yes talk to him but to arrest him and confiscate the chainsaw is a bit much.
UMM WTF with the chainsaw part lol. I have mad respect for the British Police but it seems to me that they are a bit tazer crazy here, which i can understand. You go from being armed with a baton going against knifes and whatnot, to a tazer you will feel more confident doing your job. In America most police departments require you to be tazed before you can use one. I love how they have no cage in the car and they can talk to arrested people calmly i think that is so cool.
the cops and laws are simply trying to keep the citizens safe

...at gunpoint."
Ironic, innit.

I agree with all the comments here, the man with the chainsaw is ridiculous!
These two woman coppers are so arrogant and dangerous!
