@turneynicholas Wait how does saying Winchester is a better rifle than remington (which is true, better quality) make me a pussy? I would bet a thousand dollars and my left nut that you have never shot a firearm in your life and just looked at this video after seeing it on some shitty videogame
@APhelps91 Buy a Winchester model 70. Free floated barrel and the action is worth more than a whole Remington rifle. Much more reliable. All of our rifles are model 70s except for a remington 700 I bought last year when I turned 15 and I hate it. The groups arnt tight and the gun goes shoots when I take the safety off every once in a while. It's not safe and I Am gonna get rid of it. Pick up a model 70 between $700 and $1000
@foxhunter3211 Remington 700 is a nice rifle but for $600-$1,500 ?.People hate the fact that a $100.00 WWII rifle( Mosin Nagant) can accurately shoot as far as their $1000 rifles..:)
@APhelps91 the Remington 700's are listed around $700 and up (street is lower) just go to there site if you havent already prices and models are all there
I loved the M24 rifle,Im surprised that it was a tack driver at 600,800,and at 1200 meters with the Leouplod Mk 4 scope.I had mounted the ART2 on it and had almost the same results with 1 1/2 inch elevation at 625 meters with no wind.I own one now a Remington 700 Police and shoot it with 168 gr Nosler Match Kings using 45.5 gr Winchester 748 powder.
@sierra190MK I'm better that guy is one of your well trained You Tube liars who spends hours cruzing You Tube video's colleting gun inforamtion to try to be a better liar !
How can anyone who loads their own ammo miss such an importaint point as what brand of bullet you are using .
The idiot is most likely an AK fanboy their the worst liars on You tube.
so... i should set my gun on train track and see if it works afterwords? if in a war your gun is a life line... why would you leave it on the train tracks? did the snipper get hit by a train or did he forget it at the tracks????
Who cares if your rifle got superficial mud on it? You can bet your ass if the mud had gotten into the trigger it wouldn't have fired. . .lets stick to facts and leave all this emotional tear jerking shit to the liberals please.
I own many, many rem 700 rifles but have to say I am disappointed in remington to post such a tear jerking puss video about all this emotional hoopla with sad music in the background. PURE RHETORIC.
@K3nnyg22 Yes and no. Both the M40 and the M24 are equipped with a Remington 700 action. The M24 is a long action that originally was chambered in 30 - 06. It has since changed for the '06 and is now chambered in the 7.62x51 NATO. I have heard that the M24 also is chambered in the 300 Win Mag and the 338 Lapua. The stock on the M24 is HS Precision. The M40 is a short action and chambered in the 7.62x51 NATO. The M40 has a McMillan stock.
@TheRubberDuck139 I have heard that the USMC is allowed to choose and buy their own weapon system. According to the reports I have heard, the Marines are given a credit card. They are supposedly not allowed to buy a rifle per say, but they are allowed to attend training, such as McMillan's training. Once the training is completed the Marine leaves with a weapon of their choice. Not sure is this is accurate or not.
@Mattypphillip How much is Corbon a box? I just bought 1000 round of 140 amax for $1063. I reload when I can at friends house, but an off the shelf match grade cartridge is what I need. I know southwest sells .260, but at a cost of almost $30 a box. Nothing wrong w/ the .260, I have friends that shoot it. Most people I shoot with shoot, 6.5 CM, 6XC, .243,.260 or 6.5x47 lapua.
Well sorry sir but you might be a bit of a hypocrite, judging from your first comment. Seems like you fell for another one of Hornady's marketing rounds - check them out, there's no shortage. The Creedmoor does what the .260 has done since 1997. There are plenty of factory rounds for the .260, Corbon offers a few different long range loads. You might want to consider investing in some reloading equipment as well...
It will take many more years for novice shooters to realize the benefits of 6.5mm bullets and the .260. It is a shame though since the .260 is the most efficient cartridge in the .308 case family. The 6.5 Creedmore upsets me as well since it really offers no advantage over a .260 but yet it's being marketed like the next best thing.
It is an amazing rifle... however when they start bull-shitting about it's God-like reliability it makes the video seem a little less about the rifle and more a promotional piece. It's a mechanical system, and no matter how well it's designed it will fail.
@BonhommeHero That weapon has earned that ''God Like Reliability '' You speak of... All mechanical systems will fail at some point in time...But the Rem 700, Is a Battle Tested Workhorse... It is God Like
@BonhommeHero Im sure you have notice but the video was produced by remington so they produced the video like this to persuade you to purchase the rifle. No company would say things about a product to make you not want to buy it
@BonhommeHero though their extractors are questionable and the two front lugs could be improved as 90 degree lift is a lot and tends to take your knuckles ouch if you arent careful
Somethings wrong with the description. Since when did the USMC call their M40 system the M24? The M40 SWS has evolved extensively since its introduction in '66, its currently undergoing a revamp now but whats with the erroneous video description? Good job RemingtonArmsCompay, you really screwed that up.
They strayed from the facts-history and started getting all emotional. I hate testimonials about “it was full of mud and it still worked” or “you never have to clean it or worry about it”. We all know this to be false. A weapon is a precision piece of machinery and even an AK (the emotional crowd’s fav weapon) can be stopped cold with a single well placed grain of sand.
@7x57mmMauser Never heard of an AK jamming because of a single grain of sand. If anything the design is so that the first shot shakes loose any foreign debris stuck in the action.
I don't like this mopey emotional crap either, but knowing guys who are currently or have been in the sandbox shooting a weapon system built off a Remington 700 (or with a genuine M40A3), guys who will place their lives in the hands of their rifle and coming home in one piece... thats good enough for me.
@Sup3rF1uid Having never heard of something dosent make it not so. I have had broken firing pins with the AK system as well as failure to feed. I have had brass flow into the ejector hole and bind the ejector (R700)so that the empties just sat on the bolt and if you didnt pull each one off before trying to cycle the bolt you would get an empty and a live round wedged in the action. Simple fix was to pull the bolt and push the tip of the ejector in with my knife and spin the knife...shit happens.
@7x57mmMauser How did you get brass into the ejector? It'd have to be a bloody small sliver of brass to get into the ejector hole, what were you doing, running super high pressure loads? What brand of brass? I've never had such problems, and never heard of such problems. Between myself and two maybe three of my mates we must put over 10 000 rounds of .308 down range per year, never had a problem occur in any of our systems.
But, if its mechanical, shit can happen so its a possibility.
@7x57mmMauser We've performed hot ammo testing as well, pressure will increase and muzzle velocity increases proportional to whatever powder we're using, and what temperature. What you Americans call Varget is AR2208 here in Australia, on average we see about 1.5 ft/s increase per degree Celsius. Going from zero degrees (ammo on ice) to 50 degrees (placed in warm water for 30 minutes) we saw about 70-80ft/s variation.
Those were safe loads however, I imagine very high pressure loads under the sun for an extended period of time would produce pressure signs, which it did in your case. Still, its proof the design works and works well. Thats what counts at the end of the day.
@WhiteKnight3989 I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, and go out on a limb and guess that you are an expert marksman with many long years of hard won field experience.
I honestly don't know where you get the impression from, generally speaking in my experience COD fansbois are a bunch of teenagers with a face like an acne minefield. I don't suppose you fall into that category?
Now here's a challenge: point out to me where I went wrong in any comment.
@7x57mmMauser hahah you must not know anything about guns barely any gun will jam with a grain of sand you're just mentally retarded if it has been under a decaying body for months with all the internals of that person all over it and still be able to fire it a single grain of sand is not going to do anything
@MrDip02 Oh, you little fag retards are so amusing. 1 grain of sand in the chamber will create excessive headspace and prevent the rifle from going into battery. Now run along you little gay troll and see if you can find your dad in the blue oyster bar.
@7x57mmMauser if there is mud in the chamber and still fires one grain of sand wont even do shit hell over Afghanistan there sand all over the fucking place and sand gets everywhere inside the gun nothing fucking happens and when it does it's not because someone picked up a grain a sand and took there time to insert it into the chamber
@MrDip02 Thats just it. An AK has NEVER FIRED WITH MUD IN THE CHAMBER you dipshit. You keep spouting off these urban legends like you know something. Let me put a spoonful of mud in your AK chamber and see you fire it you ignorant douchebag. Save your little dumbass sandbox stories for milk and cookies time. Take a gunsmith course before you post any more tales your big brother told you at the playground and learn about headspace and chamber dimensions.
@7x57mmMauser if i have fire my mosin with dirt and mud in it im pretty sure an ak-47 as a change to fire dirt it in i know a bolt action is a complete different system than assault rifle
@7x57mmMauser /watch?v=X7IGHWIMNE0&feature=related /watch?v=X7IGHWIMNE0&feature=related you fucking think they would use firearm that can't stand just a little of fucking sand no you stupid little cunt guns used in the fucking military for a god damn fucking reason durability and reliability they would not use any gun if it can not stand any environment yeah if you stick a god damn rock in that with do but a grain of fucking sand no you stupid little shit you tell me to learn how about you
@7x57mmMauser besides the ak-47 or another fire arm would just crush the sand as it's cambering a fucking round or move it out of the way /watch?v=X7IGHWIMNE0&feature=related head space is important but it would have to be a pretty huge fucking grain of sand to it effect it alot
@7x57mmMauser and even if there was dirt it will still fucking fire it just wont be chambered correctly but will still fire and it wont erupt or anything oh but i guess your airsoft gun can't handle
@7x57mmMauser oh and again if the headspace is fucking up because your super mega sand grain it's easy just to take it out it's not like it's going toe explode and stay in there for fucking ever it takes seconds just to get a malfunctioning cartridge out no big deal and like i said why would you take your time placing a piece of sand in the chamber? im not saying its impossible for a gun to jam just for it to jam because one grain of sand it's going to move out of the way when clambering
@7x57mmMauser holy hell im blabbering but you have to keep it in place sand wont stick to the bolt so you really wont have a problem with the damn head space if the hammer can't reach to it's primer correctly it would not jam the gun it would just have a miss fire
@7x57mmMauser it takes alot more than sand and dirt to screw up a gun let alone ak-47 i know what you mean but its going to take way more than one grain of sand it most likely wont even be stable to sit in that spot until another cartridge is chambered

@7x57mmMauser and even if there was dirt it will still fucking fire it just wont be chambered correctly but will still fire and it wont erupt or anything oh but i guess your airsoft gun can't handle

@MrDip02 you been sucking infected cock waaaaaayyyyy too long son and your brain is fucking fried with HIV.
7x57mmMauser 2 months ago
@7x57mmMauser oh and again if the headspace is fucking up because your super mega sand grain it's easy just to take it out it's not like it's going toe explode and stay in there for fucking ever it takes seconds just to get a malfunctioning cartridge out no big deal and like i said why would you take your time placing a piece of sand in the chamber? im not saying its impossible for a gun to jam just for it to jam because one grain of sand it's going to move out of the way when clambering
MrDip02 2 months ago
@7x57mmMauser holy hell im blabbering but you have to keep it in place sand wont stick to the bolt so you really wont have a problem with the damn head space if the hammer can't reach to it's primer correctly it would not jam the gun it would just have a miss fire
MrDip02 2 months ago
@7x57mmMauser it takes alot more than sand and dirt to screw up a gun let alone ak-47 i know what you mean but its going to take way more than one grain of sand it most likely wont even be stable to sit in that spot until another cartridge is chambered

@7x57mmMauser the main things to worry about is the muzzle and extractor (this allies to more than just assault rifles)

Proud owner of a Remington 870 12 gauge shotgun and a Remington 700 LTR in .308 Winchester. I've shot many rifles, and this by far is one of the best rifles in the world. I tell everyone I know in the gun community, I'm honored to have Remington firearms in my small, but proud arsenal of weapons.

did cnbc stretch the story of the safety not working on some rifles or was that the shooters mistake
aquosman99 11 months ago
@aquosman99 oh yeah, they flatout lied, search 'remington response to cnbc' on YT and you will see.
