Every thing good came out of the south. Elvis from Tupelo Mississippi to Memphis Tennessee rock n roll was born from southern gospel and rhythm and blues. God be merciful because I am hard core south and please remember that General Lee was a gentleman. Thank God for Dixie Land and I agree with Hank Williams Jr. Dixie must be a lot like heaven……..
THIS WAS MY MOM FAVORITE SONG, AND I AM MISSING HER VERY MUCH RIGHT NOW, SHE PASSED AWAY FEB-13-2011 AND I DEDICATE THIS SONG TO MY MOM. I LOVE AND MISS YOU TO NO END, R.I.P
i always listen to this when me and my husband fought all the time! and till this day i will never understand life or wht i did to deserve this? or getting his anger tooken tooken out on me! but i always thought i was doing something wrong! sadly mistaken! and very confused!
LADY DOWN ON LOVE IS THE SONG THAT CAME OUT WHEN MY HUSBAND OF 29 YRS. TOLD ME HE DIDN'T LOVE OR WANT ME ANY MORE,,, HE NEVER TOLD ME WHY,,I AWAYS WORKED AND HE DONE WITHOUT NOTHING...I DID REMARRY TO THE LOVE OF MY LIFE AND WAS SO HAPPY ,THEN HE DIED IN MY ARMS IN 2008,,AND ITS VERY HARD TO JUST GO ON,BILL, NOW AND FOREVER YOU ARE AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE LOVE OF MY LIFE,,,ARKLADYAFTERNOONDELIGHT,,,,,,,
They still make music just like this in Nashville, (well maybe not AS GOOD) but we just don't get to hear it!! It's not pretty or poppy enough for country radio! I wish I could've seen them in concert before they retired.
I grew up on this stuff, left it for metal, but this band and this song I still love to this day. So pretty and makes me remember times when things were simple. I too was in Texas like some other posters...
Alabama is one of those amazing sounds that comes along once in a lifetime and seems like nothing else can come close to comparing.. and the sound for me is just as wonderful and touching now as the first time of hearing them
This song is so much like me and my girlfriend... I screwed up so this and Lady down on Love fit both things of our relationship. I love her and I wanna do whatever I can to win her back. Thanx so much for posting this song!
love all of us has had some one like this in life man or women it seem to be when your happy with some one now but the past the one that hurts you the most ever will always be there deep inside just like an old flame
I know the song writer and the story about the song. former drummer R. Scott. but he has the strings recording and it is just great listening to just the string arrangement.
BRAVO (WHISTLES CHEERS & CLAPS) BRAVO!!!!!!! FKN A!!!!! but it brings a tear, its as sad as it is beautiful and the solo is unlike ANYTHING in 2days country..
I remember the first time i heard this song it would be an instant classic for this band. Theie sound was unique for the time and their musicianship was perfect country hall of fame all the way
Good music doesn't have an expiration date or age limit/restriction. As long as you can recognize you're joy in it that's what counts. Whenever it came out or who grew up to it is irrelevant. If you would like music like this to stand time it has to be enjoyed for generations to come :)
@ravenkat7777 its all abut image now. men werent affraid to grow hair on their face's like today. i agree with u. their more concerd abut their looks than music
My ex's name is lady this song fits me perfect
