That's part of the Sharp Shooters' uniform. They wore green for two reasons. One was a "camoflauge," but more importantly, the color has had a military history to denote soldiers who are trained specificly for the rifle and be exceptional shots.
Am I the only one that is really bothered by fat reenactors? I mean, it's not realistic at all that they would still be downright obese after marching and fighting for months or years. Don't reenactment units have some kind of build requirements at all?
I've never heard of a "build requirement" ever being had in a unit. As for fat reenactors, it does irk me at times. But I don't get too needled by it. After all, if there was a "requirement," there probably would be very few reenactors who could portray theese soldiers. And there are those on the other extreme I've heard about who starve themselves for this hobby to look the part. In closing, the "fat reenactor" in this vid has lost a lot of weight. since this footage was taken.
I look at this way at least those reenactors care enough about remember history and do it because of one reason. The love of the history.. Love the song by Dan Tymanski its one of my favorites. I also liked the 2nd banjo tune on the end what was it by the way?
The banjo tune at the end of the video is from my computer's imovie application. It's a stock song from the computer's library and its only referred to as "River Walk." Other then that, not sure how to help otherwise. But it is a pretty sweet diddy.
I think the name of the song is called "Waterbound" by Dirk Powell. I am sure many have done it though. THanks for helping and good video. I so would love to do this some day and be part of a reenactment of the civil war.
This is the 1rst USSS, Co. B. As far as I can recall, we have not been on Little Round Top, though I do know another company has been there, unfortuantely, I can't recall which company.

I would kind of like to know why they are showing Northern troops while playing a southern pride song.

No real reason other then I like the song. I was aware of the nature of the song, but I did not really care. It was just something fun to do.

Now is this the 1st US Sharpshooters? I think I've ran into them while they were camping on Little Round Top at Gettysburg.
