this is probably terribly late, but if you ever need to take pills again it helps if you cut them in half then swallow each half separately. it might taste a little bitter because you broke the outer coating, but swallow it with juice and you won't taste it.

I had mono last year and had to take big pills and I had just gotten my tonsils out so it was ...erm...painful and difficult. What helped me was turning my head about 60 degrees or so, and turning your head to one side helps more than the other, but I forget which side. Hope that helps :).

Bro! Regarding the pill swallowing! Here's what you do: You take a bite from a cookie, then you chew it til it's soft enough to swallow. Then you take the pill and push it into the soft cookie in your mouth. Whalla! Pill goes down and you don't even notice it. Nor taste that gross aftertaste.

I know this is really late, but if it helps, crush the pills and put it in your favorite flavor frosting. Stir it in and eat the frosting. The pill still works perfectly and you can't taste the pill at all. I can't swallow pills and had my wisdom teeth out about a year ago, this was my solution.

This is best way:

Depending on how big they are, cut a piece of apple that size, and insert it in that piece. Then make some more similarly sized pieces of apples, and enjoy! Try to swallow the one that has the pill in it, WHILE munching the other pieces. Its a bit hard, but hey, its EASIER. I hope I helped! ( Even though this is a bit late :S)

I tend to put the pill under my tongue before taking a few big gulps of water quickly. Lift your tongue to swallow the water quickly, and the pill should just go with the water and into your system. That's if it's a capsule thing. If it is like a tablet, though, cut it in half and swallow each half at a time. Hope I helped. :)

take a biiiig drink of water or something first, then put the pill in take another big drink. and try to forget that the pill is there. convince yourself that you're only swallowing the beverage :)

I can't swallow pills either! My method, which works pretty well but is admittedly gross, is that I take a bite of something, usually bread, and when I get to the point of chewing where I would usually swallow, I then put the pill sort-of-kind-of in the chewed up food. This helps me get past the mental block I have against swallowing non-food/-beverage items.
