pick or fingers is personal preferance, i play with both, but for this song i use a pick because thats what paul grey uses and i get better tone from a pick
in MOST metal, the bassists use picks, not so much because of speed, but for the harsher sound. Fingers produce a mellower sound, which isnt as fit for metal songs.
I am a bassist, and as much as I like to use fingers, some songs just sound better with a pick.
I can name plenty of metal bassists (myself included) who use fingers. I was just saying that most of them chose to use picks, and that is perfectly fine.
i know picks made it sound harsher...and i am a bassist too...i used to use picks in the beginning cuz i got huge ass chalices...and those hurt...then i got a pumice stone and sanded down my chalices and makes me play insanely fast
