Anything not made in America must be non-existent. I think that the real meaning behind the "debate" about this pitch. America is the biggest thief and parasite in the entire world. The Romans were the same. Get a few American assholes together and they hit a ball around with a stick and they think they "invented" it. Hell, the fucking wheel must have been invented in America. Let the Japanese have their gyroball and shut the fuck up about it already.
@bullshit3118 how can you have something that doesn't exist. If it did how come daisuke doesn't use it and has a 4.25 career ERA in the MLB. The gyro would surely dominate the majors, I remember when I first saw a curveball, it threw me off for so long
An actual STARGATE/PORTAL-THING was caught on film in New Mexico. The footage can be found within the short-film entitled "SUDDEN PORTHOLE", which is parked at the PROJECT CAMELOT YouTube page (it's under the George Noory video).
I'm not selling anything…I'm just trying to spread the word about the unseen-dimensions we find ourselves embedded in.
My BLOG @ samzurick*dot*com contains peripheral data regarding the movie and is where I reply to the "debunkers". THANKS!!
At first i actually thought it was just a changeup, since many changeups along with many pitchers fastballs has that natural 2 seam sink or "run" to it, but seeing the grip on the replay in the video, definetely a gyroball or some japanese shit, they always making up some new shit.
I thought the Gyro ball is supposed to look like it's breaking but, actually is rising??? I'm pretty sure that ball broke, and never rose.... Gyro ball is a myth.
@kahkahtbodo um, there is no possible way to throw a baseball with a spin that causes it to rise...the only pitch that appears to rise is the 4-seam fastball but even that doesn't rise...the only way to throw a pitch that rises is to release it early but it has nothing to do with the spin you put on the pitch.
I see a true slider. My understanding of a gyro, after a little research, is a pitch spinning along an axis parallel to its trajectory. That's what they call a gyro ball, that's what Clemens threw for a slider. This doesn't look like a new pitch to me.
Doesn't look much different from many guys' changeups. See Detroit's setup guy vs. the Yankees in Game 5? He was throwing a pitch that looked the same.
please stop the discussion of cricket..its the worst sports of all...any MLB player can crush anything easily against cricket pitchers...the two cannot compare...cricket is for countries like india where they just dont have the athletic ability to compete in baseball...and need their tea breaks..
The pitch is really not supposed to have a defined movement, it is basically an illusion the ball appears to the batter that it is coming straight like a fastball and but is actually dropping off... Like a sinker, but with illusion!
There isn't a fucking pitch thrown today that hasn't been thrown before. The only thing new is stupid fans. Come to think of it, there has always been those as well.
its a slider XD a sinker would have the fingers more apart, a splitter would have the fingers really wide, and its not a curve beause it doesnt break down, and whoever said it was a screwball...how the f*** is that a screwball? nobody throws a screwball anyway. gah.
That was an overhand slider. Big whup, anybody can throw that. As far as "throwing it like a football," lots of pitchers throw their slider like that. It goes faster than a curve, then breaks down and left (from a rightie) as it nears the plate.
It's not a sinker because he didn't pronate, it's not a change-up because there are a lot of ways to throw a change-up and that's not one. It moved like a splitter but it's not a splitter because of the grip. If you throw the gyroball correctly it has NO MOVEMENT at all. It's because if your spin is tight enough it will stay on the same plane. It was designed to take stress off the arm because of your hips and it looks faster than it is. That's it.
The pitch does exist, but it is of no use in baseball. The gyroball is spinning like a football along the axis where the ball is mocing. This does almost nothing to a baseball. It's a nothing pitch. However, the pitch is effective after it bounces off the ground, known as "googely" in cricket. The only reason this pitch would get a batter out is if the rotation of the ball were to fool the batter to believing it was going to curve. Hence, pitchers can get outs with this 'nothing pitch'
@CincyWiffler27 Yeah, when I saw it in slow motion I was waiting for it to break, but it never did. It has the look of a curveball and acts like a change-up.
has anyone watched the guy who invented it explain it? He said they used this virtual thing to prove how it actually doesn't sink its just an illusion.
That isnt a really good screwball or it would be called a really good screwball not a gyro ball. And all the people talking crap about Matsuzaka he dominated pitching when he first came to the Red Sox just because he do great this year doesn't mean it was a mistake. Once you get to the major leagues and win a world series then you can talk crap but until then shut up and stop looking up stuff just to talk trash about it thanks.
@The617GUNNER how can it be a fork if his fingers worent spit around the ball? Did you not see the grip... but it could of been a sinker lit you said..
i can throw the same pitch its a two seam :p you need good spin thats all im 14 and i can do it coz ive got long fingers which make for great spin on the ball
Whatever you call this pitch we can all agree that it is dirty nonetheless. I wouldn't want it thrown to me, I'd probably strike out a bunch. So stop arguing folks.
This is a cutter! It was clocked at 145. That's around 90mph.
That is the usual cutter grip. Two fingers, close together, loaded up on the side of the horseshoe and you release with little wrist action and cut through the side of the ball.
It's amazing how people comment on stuff they clearly know nothing about. This is NOT a hard pitch to throw, it's one of the most basic grips and motions to understand and you learn this before you learn the slider.
It doesn´t count how many seams he is gripping, the thing is that he is moving his wrist in the oposite way of the arm movement so that it creates a throw similar to a sinker ball using a rare change due mixing two different throws and moves :)
The seams not only help you throw a pitch due to their grip, but they also create air pressure around the ball and help the ball get the extra movement on pitches.
@omgpwndintheA55 That's not a two seam fastball. On a two seam you push with your index finger and pronate your arm on the follow through. This is how you throw a cutter.
@cujobaseball22 whhhat? do you know what a sinker is? do you know that a two seem and a sinker are the same exact pitch? that is obviously sinker movement
@DaveSomething1 Yeah I know what a sinker is, I catch a damn good one from the kid on my high school team with scholarship offers, they are the same grip with different positioning during realse. His fingers are not on top of the ball during the release which would mean he isnt throwing a sinker
@DaveSomething1 Exactly thank you! It's either a sinker or a modified slider or change-up! Mariano Rivera's sinker has more bite than that! I'm leaning towards sinker or change-up!
look guys if it was a screwball his fingers would go in a counterclockwise direction when he released the ball. so this is either a gyroball or a 2 seam fastball that got away and tailed on him.
@ajlepisto Yeah, you're right, it's either a cutter that didn't cut, or a shuuto that didn't break. The Gyroball is a real pitch, but the gyroball doesn't break downward.
@zubinmadon I don't know how to throw a Shuuto, but Dice-K has admitted before that he's thrown a slider/cutter that didn't work right and peopel though it was a Gyroball. He's admitted he actually is still trying to learn to throw the Gyro.
In reality, there is no point to the Gyro because a pitch without movement means a home run in the Majors. The Gyro is so overhyped. Now, the Shuuto, works similar to a Split Change or so it seems so I could see that being really effective.
IT's nothing special...just not a common pitch so it SEEMS special. I can throw some retarded looking illusion pitches too, but they just aren't as optimal as the normal arsenal of breaking balls and fast or slow pitches.
The Gyroball is probably just natural movement. Like the description says, this is probably a 2-seam with an accidental flick of the wrist. If he does have a Gyroball pitch, it sure isn't working in the MLB.
@MrJakester1999 Thanks for telling me it's a real pitch. So, since you throw it, can you please explain to me how you throw it? Thanks, I really appreciate it.
@mrtommyboi72 okay 1st u hold it in a 4 seam fastball grip when u go to trow it u move ur legs and body at the same time right b4 u release it u turn ur wrist and throw hard! paint 1 of the sides of the ball black if u dont c it from the time u throw it till the time it hits the catchers glove its a gyroball
@MegaAstrodude I think you're right.. It's hard to tell when you pause it because YouTube blurs the hell out of it, but if you watch it a few times it sure looks like it.
LOL... look at all these Baseball couch experts. LMAO... STFU & stop acting like y'all know what you're talking about. Get off the fucking couch, go learn how to pitch, THEN your opinions will be valid. Until then, you're nothing but abunch of lazy ass couch experts.
@TheMusikalGenius So if you aren't a pro-athlete your opinion is invalid. I played pretty good college ball, and I'm sure a lot of the people on here know something about how to pitch. Just because we may not have enough velocity or movement on our pitches doesn't mean we know nothing about pitching, dick.
@JDBlessin Are you so vein & insecure that you felt as if I was talking directly to you? If you're confident about your abilities & skills, then you wouldn't respond to my statement. If you were a good college pitcher, that's great; good for you... but why respond to my comment unless you feel as if I were talking directly to you? I was talking about the "couch experts" who have NEVER played or pitched a game in their life. Get it, dick?
@TheMusikalGenius You're comment made the implied that most of the people in the comments were just couch experts, which wouldn't matter anyway. I responded to you because you were logically wrong, just because someone doesn't have the arm strength or the determination to go out and pitch doesn't mean they can't be a scholar of the sport. I screwed up in the wording of my comment and didn't mean to seem like it was a personal thing. You sound so arrogant shit talking the "couch experts."
@JDBlessin I'm just keeping it real & speaking the truth. I wasn't aware calling people out for lying or pretending to be Baseball experts was arrogant.
that was just a sinker, you saw the two seam fastball grip, pitchers use that for sliders as well as sinkers, it all about where you release it. If your fingers go down and to the right the ball is going to sink, if you follow through with your fingers around the ball to the left its going to slide. That was just a sinker with good late movement.
Off topic, but needs to be said as a wake up medicine to those who still discuss war crap. In times of war, both sides are at fault (or something along those lines). In times of trolling on the internet, one side is at fault. In this case, it was mybaldmom who represented his country in a negative way and he got what he deserved. Now, let there be peace to the innocent. *just in case prepares for someone who wants to disagree and waste time*.
I suppose thats true. we did kill allot of people in all the bombing that took place. that is sad when I think about that. I dont blame the people but their government. you are right it is more than even. you have to wonder what the hell were they thinking when they bombed pearl harbor. I am biased because my dad fought in the pacific war and told me many things the Japaneese did that was pretty terrible.
whenever I see a jap I think of the death march in battan. and what they did to our american soldiers. no one ever prosicuted their warcrimes like they did on the nazi's . I guess our boys shoulda been Jews then they might have huh? I wouldnt give 2 cents for any Jap player. Im glad the tigers dont have any
@gregjay11 We basically bombed the shit out of them. There are still people dying thanks to the effects of the radiation from those nukes. I think it's safe to call it even and move on now after, what, 65+ years? Unless you also think all white people are evil because a lot of them owned slaves a couple hundred years ago?
So a sinker doesn't have illusion? Thanks Mr Wizard!

A SLIDER: If your right-handed and your facing a right-handed batter, you'd be throwing away from him. (Right to Right)
A SINKER: If your facing either Right or Left Handed Batter, you'd be throwing fast moving pitch that breaks down.
Either example listed doesn't account for spin.
The "Gyro" if true has a Propeller Spin like quality in the throw. No down or up Curve Spin.
Baltimoreman78 8 months ago
the reality of the gyro ball is a fastball. it just has bullet spin to it instead of the usual spin a fastball has
kingslegde 8 months ago
look guys if it was a screwball his fingers would go in a counterclockwise direction when he released the ball. so this is either a gyroball or a 2 seam fastball that got away and tailed on him.
keizzer4567 8 months ago
@keizzer4567 He's using a standard cutter grip, it just didn't cut.
ajlepisto 7 months ago
@ajlepisto Yeah, you're right, it's either a cutter that didn't cut, or a shuuto that didn't break. The Gyroball is a real pitch, but the gyroball doesn't break downward.
zubinmadon 7 months ago
@zubinmadon I don't know how to throw a Shuuto, but Dice-K has admitted before that he's thrown a slider/cutter that didn't work right and peopel though it was a Gyroball. He's admitted he actually is still trying to learn to throw the Gyro.
In reality, there is no point to the Gyro because a pitch without movement means a home run in the Majors. The Gyro is so overhyped. Now, the Shuuto, works similar to a Split Change or so it seems so I could see that being really effective.

that was weird if you look at it close he snaps it off like a slider but it breaks out like a sinker/2 seam
fyockms 8 months ago
that's a slider. A really dirty slider. Wow that pitch has movement
WECarlisle 8 months ago
Screwball! you screwballs.
plowingzero 8 months ago
IT's nothing special...just not a common pitch so it SEEMS special. I can throw some retarded looking illusion pitches too, but they just aren't as optimal as the normal arsenal of breaking balls and fast or slow pitches.
dontmugurself 8 months ago
all it is, is a sinker. look how he grips the ball, all he's doing is putting extra pressure with th emiddle finger.

The rest of MLB thanks the Red Sox for signing and overpaying this craptastic pitcher.

he had a little cucumber sauce on that Gyroball.
Syre126 8 months ago
worst pitcher ever. good jaub saux lmao
wetnoodle666 8 months ago
The Gyroball is probably just natural movement. Like the description says, this is probably a 2-seam with an accidental flick of the wrist. If he does have a Gyroball pitch, it sure isn't working in the MLB.
mrtommyboi72 8 months ago
@mrtommyboi72 hey its real i pitch it its no 2 seam fastball its like pitching a bullet
MrJakester1999 8 months ago
@MrJakester1999 Thanks for telling me it's a real pitch. So, since you throw it, can you please explain to me how you throw it? Thanks, I really appreciate it.
mrtommyboi72 8 months ago
@mrtommyboi72 okay 1st u hold it in a 4 seam fastball grip when u go to trow it u move ur legs and body at the same time right b4 u release it u turn ur wrist and throw hard! paint 1 of the sides of the ball black if u dont c it from the time u throw it till the time it hits the catchers glove its a gyroball
MrJakester1999 8 months ago
@MrJakester1999 i meant throw
MrJakester1999 8 months ago
@MrJakester1999 Ummm, you're lying, that's just another way to throw a curve...

It looks like a botched two-seamer.
MegaAstrodude 8 months ago 20
@MegaAstrodude No, he's releasing on the side like you would a cutter or a slider, but it just doesn't break across.
A two seamer he'd be pronated at release. The "Gyro" isn't really all that complicated.
ajlepisto 7 months ago
@MegaAstrodude I think you're right.. It's hard to tell when you pause it because YouTube blurs the hell out of it, but if you watch it a few times it sure looks like it.

Gyro doesn't break it creates an illusion

LOL... look at all these Baseball couch experts. LMAO... STFU & stop acting like y'all know what you're talking about. Get off the fucking couch, go learn how to pitch, THEN your opinions will be valid. Until then, you're nothing but abunch of lazy ass couch experts.
Point. Blank. Period.
TheMusikalGenius 8 months ago
@TheMusikalGenius So if you aren't a pro-athlete your opinion is invalid. I played pretty good college ball, and I'm sure a lot of the people on here know something about how to pitch. Just because we may not have enough velocity or movement on our pitches doesn't mean we know nothing about pitching, dick.
JDBlessin 8 months ago
@JDBlessin Are you so vein & insecure that you felt as if I was talking directly to you? If you're confident about your abilities & skills, then you wouldn't respond to my statement. If you were a good college pitcher, that's great; good for you... but why respond to my comment unless you feel as if I were talking directly to you? I was talking about the "couch experts" who have NEVER played or pitched a game in their life. Get it, dick?
TheMusikalGenius 8 months ago
@TheMusikalGenius You're comment made the implied that most of the people in the comments were just couch experts, which wouldn't matter anyway. I responded to you because you were logically wrong, just because someone doesn't have the arm strength or the determination to go out and pitch doesn't mean they can't be a scholar of the sport. I screwed up in the wording of my comment and didn't mean to seem like it was a personal thing. You sound so arrogant shit talking the "couch experts."
JDBlessin 8 months ago
@JDBlessin I'm just keeping it real & speaking the truth. I wasn't aware calling people out for lying or pretending to be Baseball experts was arrogant.
TheMusikalGenius 8 months ago
that was just a sinker, you saw the two seam fastball grip, pitchers use that for sliders as well as sinkers, it all about where you release it. If your fingers go down and to the right the ball is going to sink, if you follow through with your fingers around the ball to the left its going to slide. That was just a sinker with good late movement.
ak231510 9 months ago
@ak231510 sinkers sink down not down and away
wmorey99 9 months ago
@wmorey99 yes they do, sinkers always sink down and in to righties down and away to lefties, change-up sink straight down.
ak231510 9 months ago
this ball was moving 90MPH with about 10 inches of break...NASTY

Off topic, but needs to be said as a wake up medicine to those who still discuss war crap. In times of war, both sides are at fault (or something along those lines). In times of trolling on the internet, one side is at fault. In this case, it was mybaldmom who represented his country in a negative way and he got what he deserved. Now, let there be peace to the innocent. *just in case prepares for someone who wants to disagree and waste time*.

gyroballs dont rise it looks that way to a batter but it actually curves down and away
twizzzz123 9 months ago
it's just a two-seam fastball with some downward sink
deadhardy 9 months ago
I suppose thats true. we did kill allot of people in all the bombing that took place. that is sad when I think about that. I dont blame the people but their government. you are right it is more than even. you have to wonder what the hell were they thinking when they bombed pearl harbor. I am biased because my dad fought in the pacific war and told me many things the Japaneese did that was pretty terrible.
gregjay11 9 months ago
......so it's basically just a two-seam grip thrown with a screwball arm action?

I guess our boys shoulda been Jews then they might have huh? I wouldnt give 2 cents for any Jap player. Im glad the tigers dont have any

@gregjay11 You disgust me. But maybe you're trolling. In any case, as an American, you embarrass me.
dymchurch1 9 months ago
@gregjay11 We basically bombed the shit out of them. There are still people dying thanks to the effects of the radiation from those nukes. I think it's safe to call it even and move on now after, what, 65+ years? Unless you also think all white people are evil because a lot of them owned slaves a couple hundred years ago?
