  • "The UFC is now becoming one of the worlds most popular sports" ...Watch National Geographic. Because fact-checking is important!

  • WOW LOOKS LIKE IM THE ONLY GIRL THAT

    WATCHES MMA.

  • @joha531 ,,, no you are not,, i have en of of them in my fb group.. :P

  • @YyJoBb

there isnt one. its all relative to you. theres no general rule.

  • 1 they didnt tell that its acting and 2 i like this program but they take to loooooooong to get to the point! But even thought they act it i bet they could beat me UP!!!!!!!

  • 1 they didnt tell that its acting and 2 i like this program but they take to loooooooong to get to the point!

  • Just for the reccord, real, well trained, well applied and well landed techniques cannot be withstanded no matter what body they are up against :). As someone else already said its not a matter of how much u can take but how good u are in avoiding and not getting hit. If u are not conivinced try to lightly smack your jaw in an angle that if there was a str8 line it would pass through your opposite ear and u will see :)

  • lol

  • a fuck all the other videos are blocked f... national geographic

  • wtf. I can watch Part1 but when I click on Part2 it's saying that it contains material that I am not allowed to watch in my country... man, that blows big time

  • huh... i always thought elbows were derived from muay boran.

  • Either Dana had WAY too much input into this, or NG didnt do enough or proper research. Since when is the UFC a Sport?? MMA, Yes, UFC, NO. Its a League, plain and simple. Also they say only 5min rounds, wrong 3min and 5mins. Also they leave out the fact there is 4 ways fights can go, Too the Judges. Few other things that are kinda messed up but still entertaining nonetheless an cool to see. Almost as cool as Fedor on the other Sports Sciene show. Rampage too.

  • @chiggz

there working under unified rules. 5 minute rounds. not 3.

I am perfectly open to being corrected on this but i think the 3 minute rounds are only in k1 rules. thats not mma.

and theres no point commenting on the judges for two reasons 1) mma judges are usless 2) theres no way to test athletes for a judges decision.

  • ufc isnt a sport mma is ufc is a company

  • @roganrocker damn right

  • WOW LOLOLOL 1:27

"UFC is becoming one of the most popular sports"

    FAIL

  • @ThePintoAce I fail to see the fail O.o

  • @Lundix

    lol

ufc is not a sport its an organization

    MMA is the sport

  • @ThePintoAce Ah, so it would be like saying that FIFA or the NBA is a popular sport. Kk, tyvm=)

  • no show is complete without Bas Rutten...

  • when was this made? it's funny they consider dean lister the world greatest grappler. Demian Maia and Jacare would outgrapple Dean Lister, hell Thales Leites did it already.

  • This stuff we've never seen in a lab before.. Seems they say that in every show.

  • what is the point of lettint me watch part 1 but not being able to watch the rest. STUPID. SOME 1 NEEDS TO SORT IT OUT

  • damn national geo and damn there stupid pointless copyrights

  • I know it pissed me off aswell. But I found out that you can watch the whole 1hr 31mins one veohDOTcom

  • @mj19580 yeah you are right thanks alot mate .

  • tito suck

  • Bas Still is the king! As you can see he hits the hardest to this day! He didn't participate in fight science years ago...he did it now and he could do the same in 15 years!

  • Randy Couture trains with my Sensie at Legends and he actually has a glass jaw and most his fights were set up under a cartell as with the Sylvia fight were he was obviously led to win before he retired as a old pussy.

  • shut up

  • margarito eats power shots all day

  • yeah, and we'll see how 'used' to it his brain is when he is in his late forties early fifties and he shakes like Muhamad Ali

  • the brain never 'gets used' to moving. THat is why they still get concussions. They just work their defense. The mark of a good fighter is not how much punishment he can take, but how much he can avoid and dish. they all eventually get hit, and you see anyone can go out.

This isn't Rocky here. No one is eating power shots like Rocky did in the MOVIES

  • well said

  • THanks!

  • "This isn't Rocky here. No one is eating power shots like Rocky did in the MOVIES ."

    LOLZ!

  • @BrotherBoresIsBest They train their skull quite a bit, actually. Look at Nog vs. Fedor 3. If you think there's any man alive that could take hits like him without training it.

  • @BrotherBoresIsBest Fedor Emelianenko has never benn knocked out and he took alot of damage when comparing to other MMA elite fighters.

  • fuck an overstuffed al bundy fedor

  • Well lots of stuff man, like kill nurve endings in shins and forarms and you need to understand these guys do this as a job aswell so they put in like 8hrs a day and shit after a while your bones get stronger nurvs die so u cant feel as much stuff, your brain gets more use to it being moved, tbh man these guys are not born this way but it TAKES time and balls to do it.

  • why no cro cop, or guys like that? they could show the power, i mean I know Randy was brought for grappling, but he isn't known for power.

  • Bas Rutten is one of the hardest hitters ever. He's fucking vicious.

  • I know, that dude was bad back in the day. He'd run through anyone today, if he were like five years younger

  • a thumb down from some moron who thinks watching ufc makes them a master does not alter the fact that Randy is not a power figher. Anyone with a basic understanding of the game and has seen Randy can tell you that. Randy knows he is not a power fighter. He is strong, as all of them are, but he does not rely on muscling his opponent. Brock is a power fighter with some technique. Randy is a technique fighter with some power.

    GET IT?

  • How do they condition themselves to take hits of such brute force

  • pride is better than ufc. but ufc gives you that hollywood feeling that famous. pride is know for their fighters, havent you notice that pride fighters own in ufc.

and believe wut you practice is the most important a muay thai fighter would kill any karate or boxer... the best fighter will ever be the MMA cause you take the best of each and cut the crap... stop being stupid. just train

  • @paul0coronado0 Haha, pride is better then ufc? You're funny man hahahahahahaha.. oh god... hahahaha

  • should of got a gracie 4 the grappling

  • they do in the "deadliest martial arts" series

  • @westbrookfan2 Dean Lister Jr is more than qualified

  • Self Defense, Krav Maga, Silat and Kick boxing could beat all of wat u just said 3 times over. Taek Won Do can be just as powerful as Thai boxing and Karate can be just as well.

  • It's not really meant for how u fight or wat u know it's more based on experience by the way...

  • it would be better if they had

    bj penn

    gsp

    anderson silva

    chuck liddel

    cro cop

    and brock lesnar

  • Fedors not on this show because he dosen't speak english very well not because any one thinks he sucks.

  • where the fuck is fedooooooooooooooor emelianenkoooooooooooooooooooooooo

    the last fucking emperoooooooooor?!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • where is fedor?!

  • Fedor is not on here because he doesn't matter. If a guy is scared to fight in UFC he doesn't deserve to be on a video like this.

  • i would love to use one of those cameras

  • zerodead1119 ur a fukin homo..ur probably one of those faggots who goes out and kicks a punching bag for like 30 seconds and then u call yourself an MMA badass..wat a dumbass "...and act like he smacked your mom you'll hit hard that my fight science." wtf...ur so fukin dumb

  • i agree dude i hate those fags who punch the air 30 seconds and call them self mma fighters.

  • True. in order to call yourself one you need to be mentally strong, physically and you need the training.

  • @GermanValhalla dont talk so much yourself

  • lets go to the gay bar

  • You think because someone added some moves to a 1000 + year old art you name it after your race or even worse last name. Gracie? Very disrespectful to the Japanese.

  • Be logical, what do you want them to call it? "Jiu Jitsu with some extra moves"? What fighting and martial arts are about is the constant improvement of technique and skill, to bitch and moan about calling it gracie jiu jitsu is such a trivial thing. In fact the Japanese acknowledged how good gracie jiu jitsu was, masahiko kimura actually invited helio gracie to teach in japan

  • I have studied martial arts for approx 30 years. If adding or improving gives the right to re-name the art then so be it.

I am aware of what you mentioned regarding Helio. I can respect your opinion too. Fred's Wushu or just eliminate Shotokan or Go jo ru with somones name. I have only studied Jiu jitsu for about 4 years and have reviewed "Brazillian modifications" I find them to be very minimal is all.

It just seems very arrogant is all.

    Thanks for your response.

  • Actually, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, or Gracie Jiu Jitsu, is based off of Judo, and was misidentified in the Brazilian papers when the originally brought to prominence. Judo is not thousands of years old, and was first created in the 19th century.

BJJ did not add moves, it recreated the entire art; it made is possible to be weaker, slower, and lighter than your opponent, and still disable them. Helio Gracie, the founder, routinely beat Jiu Jitsu and Judo masters.

  • exactly, and royce gracie was just a big fish in a small pond. He was fighting men who were brawlers. And once Royce gracie fought a true MMA artist like Matt hughes he got raped.

  • i fuckin hate the gracie family !!!!

  • cool show

  • BJJ = Brazillian Jiu Jitsu

  • brazillian jiu jitsu =bjj

  • hmm.. ive started doing Muay Thai and BJJ, I believe the combo of the two is very usefull.. with BJJ it helps alot as you learn about floor fighting and to be able to defend well!.. And Muay thai, you become powerfull in your hands, shins, elbows, and knees. Muay thai and BJJ works well for me.. Others it may not! Try your own variations!

  • how long have you been training already?

  • a few months now.. Whyd you ask?

  • I like kickboxing more

but muay thai is good for conditioning the body

  • your right. elbows from karate and kung fu, i don't think so... knees from kick boxing, thats bs too, all muay thai...

  • Take downs aren't from BJJ

  • no problem, keep it up with the good work!:D

  • aaa and yes you must rest a lot too 2 days a week i'd say,if you will burn your muscles they wont grow a lot...

  • Dude you like doing 2 martial arts, just do what you thin is gonna be usefull and what you like the most and enjoy it,if you enjoy it results will come and you will prevail, good luck!

  • naw man thats great if u do more than one classes...jst dont use one class as an exuse if u slack in the other.,,,,if u do it jst do it and give it ur all and when u in one class forget everything u know about that other class and do what u gotta do in that class....its always good to have a varity in martial arts..and that one of the best combos bro...kickboxing and BJJ great dude go for it

  • whats bjj stand for?

  • No its not a bad idea just make sure your able to get as much rest as possible.

  • i love bruce lee because mixed martial artist say bruce lee is the father of mixed martial arts during the 70's his the first mixed most of the martial arts even the famous mixed martial artist say bruce lee the father'' he and his jeet kune do

  • Look up "Pankration" It was around since the ancient Greece. It looks almost EXACTLY like MMA. Sorry, I like Bruce Lee and all, but Pankration is the true father of MMA.

  • truth...however, the worlds most complete fighting system came out of Mascedonia in ancient times...it involved chariot fighting, sword and staff techniques, wrestling, grappling empty hand, archery and horseback fighting...pretty interesting stuff...earliest recording of a complete martial art style

  • thanks for the post

  • 'UFC is becoming one of the worlds most popular sports'...the writers should check their facts..UFC isn't a sport, its a promoter and venue for Mixed Martial Arts...and whats with saying an MMA kick is stronger than a muay thai kick...? they're the exact same thing I mean MMA isn't a martial art, its an umbrella term for a fusion of styles

  • Bravo, sir.

  • sarcasm...??

  • No. Not at all. I agree with you completely.

  • I KNOW IT BOTHERS ME SO MUCH! its like saying lets go play some NHL or lets go play NBA rawr

  • haha I feel your pain man

  • Yea, when I tell people I practice MMA, they're like "Huh?" then I say, I practice UFC, then they're like "OHHH"

  • haha yeah, same thing..then I try to explain MMA is the actual term for the group or arts used and UFC is just the most well known venue for promoting the sport of MMA...falls on deaf ears most times lol

  • my favorite are the people who think MMA is a seperate art, they amuse the crap out of me lol. It's a colaberation of several martial arts used in conjunction with each other, taking the best techniques from those respective styles. But honestly it could be any group of styles that compliment each other, not just the standard most are used to seeing.

  • mhmm, it astounds me everytime somebody refers to MMA or cross training in martial arts on a general level...Muay Thai and BJJ are the only arts that pop into people's minds...hopefully fighters like Lyoto Machida, Cung Le and GSP and their uses of 'hybrid MMA', taking the traditional and adapting it in a modern setting will change the 2 art stereotype...

  • i absolutely love Machida, and i LOVED watching him rape Tito ^_^ I've been telling people for years, that most UFC fighters have never taken a "real" punch, but Machida uses a very effective shotokan straight punch to end alot of his matches. Tito got to feel it first hand, as have many, it makes me happy because i also do shotokan :) Yup lets hope it does change things, but there will always be sheeple on the internet, so we'll never know.

  • never saw that fight...however, thiago silva vs machida before penn vs GSP 2 was awesome..2 of my favorite fighters won that night...love their unorthodox techniques and it apparently pays off. First time I've seen karate prove useful in anything more than forms or tournies

  • indeed. Which is why i always say "it's not the art, it's the practitioner", machida shows that even an art that's considered "purely for tournaments and forms" can be used to do some serious damage if you train properly :)

  • Couldn't agree more...there is a place for everything and everything has it's place..traditional arts were kept that way for a reason...they work..and it's awesome to see that. I'll admit, I badmouthed karate before but after seeing someone actually utilize it to do damage and not only win trophies for forms I've since shut my mouth lol..I train in ITF Taekwondo, Wing Chun, kali/escrima and some ground work as well as a couple other arts..wouldn't trade them for MMA at all

  • well honestly if you think about it, you technically do MMA, you do a mixed assortment of martial arts that complent each other, taking the kicks from TKD, the punches and techniques from Wing Chun, and the strengthening and hardening techniques from escrima, and some ground work as well, sounds like MMA to me ^_^

  • mhmmm you bring a valid point, and its differant than just cross training in muay thai and Bjj lol which is nice

  • that i do sir, that i do lol. Of course, the same people who say bruce lee is bullshit, and the ones who wear an MMA shirt so they automatically are proficient UFC fighters would probably disagree, but that's ok heh.

  • haha I couldn't agree more..Ironicly, I'm just looking at MMA shorts for my martial arts class...probably more comfortable..and would make for a nicer time of things than what I have now

  • i'm hoping to get back in my own shotokan class soon myself, i have alot of bad injuries now, mainly my elbows are the worst atm, so it's hard to punch like we normally do in shotokan, but i'm working up to it again :)

  • ahh unfortunate, hope you get better soon and keep training. How do you punch in shotokan? Is that the style that is commonly used in a kumite??

  • ya sometimes it is. Basically it's with a rotating fist (when in line drills anyways, you obviously don't take the time to do this in a fight but ya lol) starting from your hip and extending out to the front of you, it uses hip rotation and "rooting" as well. It's an extremely powerful punch, but unfortunately because of my elbow injuries, it feels like someone is stomping on my elbow right now when i do it -_-

  • ahh ok, we use the same punch in tkd forms and yup it sure does put strain on your elbow thats for sure

  • that tournament shit will get one killed in a real fight

  • truth, not to mention taking it to the ground is asking for your head to be used as a soccer ball but of course...BJJ practitioners never agree

  • Going to the ground on the street is not a good idea, especially when others can jump you and clobber you to death. Youtube Bas Rutten street fighting/bar fighting.

  • couldn't agree more but unfortunately Bjj practitioners rarely believe that...and I have the whole video..it's good but his accent and useage of comic book sound effects makes me lol

  • or decision

  • Should of got Rampage.

  • search for "fight science rampage" - he gets his bodyslam measured.

  • im Kinda disappointed they chose dean lister, Matt hughes, anderson silva or wanderleiui could do better

  • erm 'fight science' doesn't know anything about martial arts huh.... knees from kickboxing... UFC is a sports... weird.. well the last show they seriously believed a hammerfist to the chest can kill someone.... I remember reading that a high IQ and commen sense don't necessarily correlate, lol

  • it probally would, it's proven with the data

BUT in a fight to land such a hit is very near the impossible with your opponent moving etc...

  • Anyone whose been punched in the chest knows that's highly unlikely. The problem is they don't realize how much punishment the human body can take.. granted they're better in this one... but in the other the seem to believe strikes that regular people take on a fight in a nightclub, etc, would leave a person in need of serious rehab or a mortician. They state that a heavy weight bas produced a more powerful strike than the lighter thai, common knowledge, that's why there's weight classes.

  • true, i said near the impossible

its plausible in theory but a lot of thing are

i agree with you, ah just see you post above but anyway.

you're right. and to validate you're point of wieght classes.

    force= mass x speed

meaning more mass = more force

    ya see

  • WWE? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • ur mum? hahhaha

  • 512309.....If you like watching big, greased up men pretend to hit each other...thats your choice. But don't even compare that garabge to a real sport like MMA. And the fact that you're listing of mom jokes just proves that you're a moron.

  • shuttup ad listen dracen malfoy

didnt wwe supertar brock lesnar DEMOLISHH ur gay superstar randy corter

  • kidding about?

  • never hearing of randy?

  • I was writing to someone else who said that (view all comments :-) Randy's the man... why I wanna do greco :-)

  • 512309...Lesnar out weighed Randy by about 80 pounds (because on fight night Lesnar weighed around 280lbs while Randy was closer to 230lbs) and Randy sitll managed to control Brock on serveral occassions. And i dobut that his experence in the WWE is what allowed him to win, it was his size, speed, and REAL wrestleing experence durring his all-american days, not when he was rubbing vasaline on himself and slapping men like so many other WWE "althletes". WWE the dumb man's MMA.

  • dntttt hypee ur mum is myth_buster123

  • The best MMArtists are wrestlers, meaning collegiate wrestlers. We all know WWE cannot really match up with MMA. Both Light-Heavyweight and Heavyweight champs in the UFC were BigTen collegiate wrestlers. Nuff said.

  • Comment removed

  • these fighters wudve made awesome soldiers.

  • You're a fucking moron.....

  • ur mum plays ps3 wwe it the besttt

  • your such a cunt i almost cried with laughter

  • ur mum is randy corter

  • WWE is choreographed and fake. MMA is the real deal. ur such an ignorant loser.

  • ur mum is choreographedd

  • true but some people do have unmoveable chins u are correct tho mate

  • somebody can tell me if there is any way to get a strongest chin? or some training to get a strongest fist??

  • there is no way that i know of to get a strongest chin you can get heavier and stronger hands. in ancient china kung fu masters used to punch trees for hours there bones would calcify and become thicker stronger and heavier allowing them to hit harder

  • Comment removed

  • repeatedly punch hard thinks and your bones rebuild themselves to endure the punishment

  • Comment removed

  • i don't know about the chin but to get hard fists/knucles do twenty knuckle push ups every day two times a day

  • tried drowning?

  • fuck you! maldito solo pregunte por curiosidad oyo hijueputa

  • Do Press ups on a hard floor using yourfists instead of your hands

  • i heard this by someone, not sure if it really works. the guy said to build up strong neck muscles to lessen the impact of a punch. although technically, it doesn't build a strong CHIN, it does help when it comes to takin punches.

  • imagine if they had fedor on these machines he would probably overload them and they would blow the fuck up.

  • lol those people who fight in UFC they using MMA

  • Nazi is not equal to hitler u noob

  • ... like GW.Bush is not equal to USA

  • fight science

  • i wanna see anderson silva on this

  • indeed.

i'd like to see hundreds of fighters on this, really.

  • what the hell is tito 'the bitch' ortiz doing here? he's shit-house.. what are they trying to make "the worlds best fighters and one shit one will be tested.."

  • go back to WWF.

  • You're a retard... Tito at one stage was considered the best pound for pound fighter in the world and was ufc light heavy weight champ for like 3 years! Learn your facts before you make an ass of yourself.

  • you put it well.. he's a has been, which doesn't make my comment any less true dipshit.. at one stage he was considered a good fighter, and yea had one of the longest reigns ever, i already know this.. but the sport evolved around him when he was at his peak, he IS shit, period, i dont give a fuck what he WAS.. my comment was relevant to todays sport.. quit living in the past dick-nipple!

  • discoverychannel thinks ufc is a sport:O
