  • If feel Blizzard got enough on it's plate, as is. Blizzcon would just be needless junk-food spoiling the meal. With a lot to work on, I'm glad to see that they're taking some time to get their priorities straight.

They see the competition & it's not something to snub their noses at. I just hope the time & resources they use on their titles will live up to, or better yet, exceed the expectations of their fans.

We can only wait and see the end result of Blizzard's decision & if it'll payoff...

  • @capper187 i agree with you in that all we can do is wait and see if it pays off for them, for better or for worse =)

  • I know this isn't related to this video however Sambonz what do you think the Pandaren mount will be, I personally think it will either be a Yak or a Rickshaw, Thanks alot.

  • @Greejal good question! i hadn't thought of that - a rickshaw would be cool =)

  • I thought it wasn't time for the quarterly update until Feb...Guess the sub loss is still on a downward trend. This is a major stab in back to fans tbh - they make billions...no excuse for this... Their statement is complete BS...

  • @HwarangXia i have to agree that the official statement clearly seems like some PR and nothing more. i'm betting that it's Activision driving this change - aka the evil Bobby Kotick *shudder

  • No blizzcon is a horrible move, blizzcon helped really make blizzard such a beloved company.

  • :(

  • No Blizzcon? But what will all the cosplayers do?

  • Blizzard is losing money or not making as much as they once was. So this is a means to making back some of that money. I dont go to Blizzcom but my and my family rent Blizzcom, It has become a yearly gathering for us all. I believe this is a slap in the face to the fans. Why cause there working on there 3 games they own, 1 that is not even released yet and 2 that already is. Also 2 other secret games one with the name Project Titan. Why to spit on the fans Blizz.

  • I was really looking forward to the unveiling of Project Titan...oh well, back to playing swtor...I mean, uh...killing Deathwing...

  • as always, i'm reading each and every comment. some really great responses in here!

personally i do think there's something going on over at the BlizzHQ. rumors are flying about a couple of key staff leaving, and i've only ever trusted Bobby Kotick (Activision) as far as i could kick him.. all very interesting =)

  • Blizzard took an arrow to the knee.

  • Blizzard!!!!! Fix this bug NOW!

  • i dont know what i think about this really.. but i dont think they cancel it because they need to work on D3 and the wow expansion and so on.. something is up ;) people leaving blizz, no blizzcon.. i really start to wounder whats going on over at blizzard :P

  • Well looks like all the angry blizzard fans are the reason that the world will end, they are going to kill everyone.

  • I don't think it's that big of a deal,well maybe because I never went/planned on going :D

  • Well, I wasnt going to go. Cant aford it :/ But its kind of a let down. But If its going to make fan ( including me :) ) happy in the long term, Hey why not. Have a good Day :).

  • AND I WAS GOING TO GO THI YEAR R-A-G-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • so THIS is why the world will end in 2012

  • I was actually not surprised for the cancellation of Blizzcon. If we look into it, for how long players been waiting for Diablo 3? Take Starcraft for example, we waited god know how long to have SC2 released and yet expansions to follow... Then in WOW after the "failure" of Lich King, we had to wait for some time for Cataclysm which then there were patches to address bugs etc. Now with new WOW expansion to follow + anticipated Diablo 3 and C2 expansion, they would need all the resources.

  • not to mention the competition and I am not just referring to GW2. other games that are highly anticipated are being released this year.

  • Possibly protest to SOPA and PIPA? Even though public announcement for the reasoning behind the cancel hasn't been released, it would be interesting to see if this is the case.

  • I suppose this is what the Mayans meant when they said 2012 would be the end of the world.

    Oh well...

  • /kneel, /cry, /quit

  • there is no blizzcon because there is gonna be a world esports championships in asia at least thats one of the reasons

  • at least they can't reveal another stupid addon for WOW then. Think they will unveil their new MMO on the next Blizzcon.

  • They canceled it because they are hopfully spending all there money on starcraft wow and diablo 3! If i am right then this is a good thing!

  • END OF THE WORLD

  • Blizzard knows its the end of the world. They are preparing

  • I can never afford to fly out there to see BlizzCon, so to me it's meh - one way or the other. BUT - I think I understand why they are doing this... they have alot on their plate atm, plus there are other games coming out also this year. One way or the other, I hope this helps Blizzard with their upcoming expansions to make them great for us to play!! :)

BTW - HI Samboz and Happy 2012 to you and yours Hun!!!

  • I reckon it's because they won't have anything new to announce by then. So they'll save things up, such as another SC2 expansion and the new MMO and announce them at blizzcon '13.

  • With up to 3 games launching this year there wouldn't be much to talk about for next year. Before this year there was usually something always waiting on the horizon, something that was in the works to be announced and would be playable or released the following year. The most they could say this year is "Titan is still underway, and we'll start on the Protoss campaign now that Heart of the Swarm is out... and now for the WoW Arena and SC2 tournaments!"

  • their probly waiting till 2013 to finally release information on titan and they are probly jam packed with work from mists of pandaria, diablo III, titan and star craft that planning and executing an event like blizzcon would be worse for blizzard than good

  • I have a suspicious feeling that they've done this in order to put more work and effort into Mists Of Pandaria. I think they're intimidated by Guild Wars 2 and the anticipation for it!

  • Its good dej can do better games next year! :)

  • I've never played a Blizzard game in my life so this news means very little to me. But it sounds like they are going with priorities and spending the time and money on actually working on developing and improving their product. So sounds like a good decision to me!

  • It makes sense based on their plans for the year and how Blizzcon would be pretty ho-hum without much to announce. Look at it this way, this year you may not be getting Blizzcon but you're getting a bunch of Blizzard releases for each of their major franchises. That's something to look forward to.

  • This is like not having Christmas!! @_@

  • @LaughterRift /blizzconquit =(

  • @sambonz What is this I don't even... this.. I actually was going to go for the first time this year. LOL

  • @LaughterRift aw what! not any more =(

    BLIZZARD Y U NO BLIZZCON?!

  • I think we have to honest and say that many people have lost interest in WoW. The whole Panda thing killed it for me.

It's disappointing though, because I'm a big Starcraft fan.

  • i Would have no idea but i went to blizzcon every year before this, this is schocking

    i i i i .......... its a real shame...

  • That can't be....... :O

  • Darn that sucks :/
