Very smoothly done and executed! I have a lot of time and instruction experience in the R-22 and other helicopters and it is apparent that you have done this before.
Take care and keep up the great work! If everyone could work toward achieving this level of performance, they would not have anything to worry about if and when the time actually comes to put it down safely without power. Best regards, Bob
Nice, what I notice about watching auto's is you get to realize how much of the sound a helicopter makes is from its rotors alone. A non pilot watching would not know that the helicopter is performing an unpowered landing.
well you control the speed with collective, pitch and bank - you bank too hard and you can actually overspeed the rotors - and when they fly off you are definitely dead - i never managed to land an R22 with autorotation at less than 20 knots - it was always a run on landing
@SPQRTempus Another cool thing is also how the "chopping" noise virtually disappears and the heli becomes silent with out a tail rotor. It's pretty cool if you've ever listened to a NOTAR heli.
well done!!!!!!!

Awesome touch down. Nose was a little low on entry. Probably chasing the speed/RPM in the beginning but nice finish and that's what's important.

@SPQRTempus Well I'm a non-pilot and I knew that it was making an unpowered landing because of the title.

I may be a non-pilot. But I'm still a person with feelings.

And not just a little scary! :-)

Beautiful. Especially in the R-22 with so little inertia and momentum in the blades!
