  • this looks like a jet engine from an r/c airplane. Wonder if that works if attach these on r/c planes...lol

  • so it uses a brushless motor?

the rc world has had them for years

  • I got myself a Dyson digital motor from the new handhelds and the Airblade! It is the beauty that lies within the machine

  • faster than a f1 engine but like .50 lb of tourq

  • So i can plug this into my car and speed off?

  • NIce 3D demo

  • To be fair, DC fan motors do have a bit less load and torque output than an F1 engine

  • just about any electric motor spins faster then a car engine lmao

  • @JesusBerd r u kidding?

  • formula 1 engine can reach 20,000 rpm...so this little engine can reach 100,000 rpm ?!

  • @exclusivecarter massive lol !! Probably the 2006 cossie V8 revs even higher than that !

  • I would expect to have seen solid-state capacitors with it being Dyson , but that's just me .

  • so i put this in my car and il win every race??

  • i would buy the vacuum. take the motor out, and then put it in an rc car. that would go so fast

  • are geare any 1? :D

  • Wait, if it has more power than a Formula 1 Engine, does it have more noise?

  • @DillandShaj, try to find a vid of a dyson in operation, or get one i guess, they sound like a leaf blower in your house.

  • The average turbo can spin at 100,000 rpm under boost.

  • @619426 200,000

  • Haha, "digital" electric motor. Neodymium magnet motors are used in many applications where compact size is more important than cost. They've been around for 29 years.

The smaller the motor, the faster it spins. That doesn't mean much.

  • you mean that it rotates at about...let's see...if a formula one engine rotates at about 18 000 rpm, does this thing go at 90 000??? quite unlikely, but just what i think.

  • @tolisdrums yes it even says at dyson's website that it spins at 98 000 RPM. if you ever get the chance to, you should listen to one of these things, they are loud but they suck up a ton.

  • @tolisdrums

90,000 rpm is no problem for a small electric motor. If you did magnetic bearings, you could do 1 million rpm.

  • thanks i really needed to suck the carpet off my floor

  • Can't wait to take this one apart!!!

  • Well, I think that thing is a brushless motor!

I have Modelcars, and they run with that kind of motors, too! Like 60mp/h and a crazy power.

  • Five times faster than a Formula 1 engine but to really impress build it out of carbon fiber!

  • Ok, so all of that is to neodymium magnets ?

  • @lucasbudega YEs , because the ordinary rotor coil (wich wastes a lot of power) has a weaker field than a N-42 magnet , and you can redirect the power you'd need in the stator coil to pulse the rotor and spin it fast !

  • Dyson machines ARE good quality, but the price is nowhere near right. you can get vacuums that are all around better (although they may have less raw suction power) for less than what these run.

  • for comparison on how the F! engine isn't a big deal, the average RPM is 18000, while a cheapo 24X CD rom drive will get you 10000. it takes a top of the line machine to outdo a cheap CD rom drive. suction is to vacuum cleaners as megapixels are to digital cameras. if it's got mediocre rollers and air return systems, then the end result will still be pretty mediocre. Whats more, high suction vacuums can damage certain common types of upholstery and carpet materials.

    (concludiing)

  • neodynium magnets... like... every other electric motor that is worth using these days? nobody uses ceramic magnets in those anymore. and comparing the RPM capability of an electric motor to that of an internal combustion engine? that's apples and oranges right there. electric motors have by nature much less torque than an internal combustion engine, and much fewer moving and meshing parts, so naturally it will have higher RPM, (continued)

  • What 100,000 RPM plus?

  • does your vaccuum cleaner have the PROPER AMOUNT OF SUCTION?

  • You are the awesomest Dyson!

  • Apple, bose and dyson are my faveroite companies.

  • Dyson is like the Apple of vacuums, and I like it like that. An emphasis on high quality is always preferable to cheaply made junk from other sellers. I really like the effect they have on competition, to innovate that which needs a little innovation after decades of stagnation.

  • @hughtub "I really like the effect they have on competition" Dyson uses to many parts inside their vacuums which makes it prone to failure. I've used the Dyson ball. Wasn't impressed. If there is anything these companies REALLY sell you. It's just the brand name. Same with German luxury cars now adays.

  • @hughtub Apple? Haha why do you think Apple is such high quality? They're only good for making Ipods which crap out on people and their computers can have just as many problems as a PC. They're only good for movie editing, music and all that jazz. People always say "Oh PCs get so many viruses" well that's because idiots allow them to get viruses. It's not hard to prevent your PC from getting a virus, none of my computers have ever had one and they've lasted much longer than any Mac.

  • @hughtub Oh and don't even get me started on the iphone cause droid and the windows phone showed it up big time.

  • @hughtub Apple is good quality?

  • @hughtub

Yeah, but Apple uses hardware that came out three years ago in their "newest" models of laptops and computers, while other manufacturers strive to provide the newest and best specs possible for an even lower price than Apple's "new" shit.

  • @hughtub Of course if you wanted to customize your vacuum you'd be screwed.

  • @hughtub Yeah but PC's are still better.

  • @hughtub

There's a massive hole in your logic. Apple isn't a quality manufacturer.

  • @MachiiUnin How so? They use high quality materials in everything I've seen, not cheapo plastic. I'm just curious, if you know something I don't.

  • @hughtub So if Dyson are the Apple of vacuums, what are Kirby?

  • @hughtub hehe is this is like an apple-dyson fanboy comment

  • @hughtub Dude...the studd inside all the computers are practically the same. The Mac just as a more durable "shell" and sleek design. The Dyson's internals are more high tech than cheaper vaccums. It's a totally different animal.
