  • I love this song in every season!! ;)

  • Sheer brilliance,

43 years later and I still love it!

    florianska6

  • que bonita musica de los zombies gran banda musical

  • Pure magic. Anyone over 50 still believe in magic? Oh yeah!

  • This wasn't a UK hit?

  • @Desperada57 I don't think it was released over here. Though we did have 'She's Not There', which was also very good! My daughter saw this band recently at her university in Canterbury!

  • ROLLING STONE MAGAZINE NAMING THERE ''ODYSSEY''ALBUM AT ALL IS A BLESSING..BUT BY PUTTING THIS ''ZOMBIE''CLASSIC ALBUM IN NUMBER 80 IS TOO LOW.EVEN ''LOVE'S FOREVER CHANGES'',GET'S LITTLE NOTICE.THE FANS CREATE THE CLASSIC ALBUMS.

  • This recording is playing at too fast a speed.

  • @ChiTownStoner420- it's probly not 20 people who dislike this video/song/group. It's most likely one person being equal to their IQ which happens to be just that... 1. :D lol. These days, mainly "children" who THINK they know what music is have to dislike REAL music such as the Zombies, The Who, Hermans Hermits.. so on because they simply do not understand what music is. Let them believe that other "singers" are the new. As the rest of us sit back and enjoy what music really shaped this country

  • @jackedup861 awsome comment! it made my day!

  • @jackedup861 Now, our generation produced enough crap in its time. It's only the jewels like this song that survive and are still played today, just like a few of our parents' songs are timeless. Same with the "children" today.

  • I would KILL to find a new band with this sound nowadays.... KILL... EAT YOUR BRAINS LIKE A zombie...... There's a better chance of inventing a time machine and going back to watch this live... but for now Im going to stick to my youtube.

  • Loved it then and love it now. I got to see them once in concert. Small venue - great sound - wonderful memory

  • Rod and Colin continue to tour and remain very entertaining. And they sound exactly the same.

  • i want to know who the 20 assholes are who disliked this. This was real music. not like the crap that we have today. Unbelievable

  • I GIVE IT UP FOR THE ZOMBIES.I FEEL THEY ARE THE MOST ''UNDERATED ROCK BANDS OUT THERE.WE ALL ..WELL MOST ROCK FANS KNOW ''THE BEATLES'',THE STONES'',''THE KINKS'',AND EVEN ''THE WHO'',TO DEATH.THESE ROCK CRITICS NEED TO BRING NEW LIGHT TO MANY OF THESE ''UNDERATED BANDS,AND UNKNOWN OBSCURE THERE JUST DUE.''ROLLING STONE'',MAGAZINE IS CRAP.CHECK OUT ''MOJO'',SHINGDIG'',UNCUT AND ''UGLY THINGS'',TO DIG FOR THESE GREAT BANDS INCLUDING THE ZOMBIES.

  • @17234772918711255237 Rolling Stone magazine did put their Odyssey and Oracle album at number 80 on their list of the 500 greatest albums of all time, just sayin

  • Awesome song! Thanks for posting.

  • this is rock with style and taste, not a bunch of dirty looking bums screaming into a microphone, great song!

  • This is a very innovative song using the gasp as a rhythm instrument. I can't believe it failed to chart in the UK. It's reallly top notch songwriting. Great lyric.

  • Maaannnnn.....ilovethisshit

  • Is this stoner music?....No? NOT ANYMORE ITS NOT.

  • love it

  • "who's your Daddy now?"

  • Ok all you hip hoppers..... this is the song that originated "Who's Your Daddy?"

  • @daflyboys old skool hip hop is awesome

  • wait a sec... this is sped up isn't it?

  • @dalluc na

  • @zombieslayer9775 well I beg to differ

  • Oh, and "Time Has Come Today" by the Chambers Brothers, too... great drum riffs in all those songs.

  • This, along with "Itchykoo Park" and Alice Cooper's "Black Juju," made me want to learn how to play the drums when I was just a kid...

  • so much better than anything we hear on tv or radio today!!! l like -SOME- hip hop but there is no comparison!!! THIS IS REAL MUSIC!!!!

  • @thezachattack014 what's on the radio isn't real hip hop, idiot

  • @2pacthugzta.... i know that....thats why i said "SOME".....because if it does come off the radio or tv.... then its shit...

  • Does anyone remember Argent?

  • @plasma3211 Yes, just downloaded "Hold Your Head Up" off iTunes.

  • i had this in 45 rpm vinyl when i was a kid :o) ~ sounds better on the internet thingy !! ~

  • priceless song ..

  • Saw Rod Argent on a tour with Ringo's traveling All Starrs about 5 years ago. They played this and it sounded great!

  • Rock On

  • Great song by the Zombies.

  • Damn! They don't make em' like this anymore!!

  • @351jackieblu -- Ya, I they don't make men like that anymore, either! Just saying... love the Zombies & miss this kind of real music. *sniffle*!

  • @sweetgypsy100 I miss it, too!

  • @Desperada57 -- Glad we had yesterday & the music they played. There's some ok stuff today but a lot of it is just crap...IMO. Peace :)

  • @351jackieblu ..... that's why they call it classic rock.....

  • As much as I enjoy metal and newer music, I wish they made music like this still.. I was born too late I guess.

  • @Cretinhopping I love modern music as well, still the music of this era was amazingly simple and entertaining.. keep on rocking!

  • 60's <3

  • Interesting, I wondering if the Beatles were influenced by this for "Come Together". The echoed handclaps sound similar.

  • British men are so handsome!!!

  • d0pe in 2012

  • wow this was the year I was born... weird

  • @TheWonderDoc

    Why is that weird?

  • One of my all time favorites!!

  • i love this song:)

  • waxing poetically

  • @bobby77880

    Hahaha

  • yes a hit and still it is.

  • seriously, this is so freakin relaxed ;)

  • wtf .. ?

  • It was round about this time I saw Jimi Hedrix live.

  • Caught the Zombies as part of a "Hippiefest" several years ago. They were amazing, and loved performing. Other performers were Badfinger, Mitch Ryder, Felix Cavalieri, and The Turtles, hosted by Country Joe MacDonald. Great show and a perfect example of what I consider to be the greatest Musical Generation of all time. Peace.

  • @WoodstockGeorge how awesome. In August of this year they had that Hippiefest at a theatre only blocks from my home (most of the acts you mention were here) and I missed it, so sorry. But I saw Zombies, The Yardbirds and Spencer Davis at the same theatre 2 years ago (Royalty of Rock Tour) and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen, regardless that all these guys are so old, they still sounded perfect!

  • Whose your Daddy? Is he rich like me? Has he taken any time toshow you what you need to live?

  • The first time I listend to this song was 1998 in Madrid in a hostel. After my girlfriend was leaving. Since then I was searching for the music group and title. But didnt find. Until today ;-)

    I am happy

  • @sommeryoga Sorry it took you so long to find it, check out all the music from this era from before and after we had some fantastic music.

  • @sommeryoga Have you seen the more recent video of the group performing this? Still great!

  • This was a cutting edge song from of of my favourite bands of all time, I may have been born a few generations late but it's great we can all enjoy it... and almost for free! That's a bargain, the best I ever had.

  • awakening with De niro and also in forest gump. Hope that helps

  • love the crazy little 60s keyboards

  • DamM this song is tooooooo Good!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Love this song. Can't remember what movie I heard this in, haha.

  • Damn I love 60'a music but i'm so glad I wasn't around then for the simple reason of how they treated our soldiers..I would totally be in jail for jacking up some hippies,HOORAH!!!!

  • god i love this song

  • oh i never new this was a zombies song lol

  • This is a new band for me recommended by a fellow worker at my post office. Bloody brilliant, gonna by an album now!! Can anyone tell me what's a good studio album to start with. No compilation please.

  • Nowadays we tribute The Zombies by dressing up as undead creatures that feast on human flesh. I blame George Romero, and Canada...

  • @aucres Dead or undead, we Canadians are happy to simply be noticed. I cannot speak for George Romero ;-)

  • @mrwibbles1 Your national anthem kicks ass.

  • hey, when was earl in the zombies

  • ultimate organ solo!!!

  • @MyFlixxx No light my fire has the ultimate organ solo!

  • @narfozs Nah dude Magic Carpet Ride has the ultimate organ solo :)

  • This is one of those songs that defined my childhood. It would appear in countless clandestine late night sessions of listening to the signal of stations like WOWO Fort Wayne Indiana 50,000 watss of power wafting across the Great Lakes and into my 10 transistor radio held to my ear in my bed sound low enough to not wake up my brother.

    Just one of those songs.

  • @mrwibbles1 Yep WOWO was a powerhouse! We lived

in Fort Wayne and had the station on much of the time.

Other great stations out there were CKLW Detroit, and

my favorite WLS Chicago. Great song, super memories! Rock on!!!!

  • there is a 60's-70's-80's station on 101.1

  • nope, it's not in a higher key. that's the original. there was a lot of experimentation in music in the 60s. rock and roll was making the jump from ritual dance beats to music that was just there to be experienced...

  • glad there's not a bunch of assholes on sayin "thumbs up if glee/SAO brought you here" anyways im a 80"s baby and i love this song, as well as shes not there the zombies are the shit

  • love it... always have and always will.

  • 2:35 The dude on the left his some serious vein popping going on with his arm. I would not wanna piss him off.

  • Sounds like "STAND BY ME" :O

  • Kur Lietuviai ? :DD

  • I luv that Stephen King used this as the intro in "Riding the Bullet" -;).

  • ahhh. ahhh...

  • I think if there were more cats the season would have gone smoother

  • Timeless? Damn right!

  • Sounds like stand by me.

  • @ziiik0 similar beat

  • Timeless!!!

  • Clasico de clasicos de los 60's.

  • this tune is great...check out the rapper necro...he samples the shit out of this....he calls it whos your daddy...might be the most vile lyrics about banging chicks that you will ever here...im not saying its better in an anyway, than the original.

  • been waiting all my life for .....whos ur daddy is he rich like me....zombies knew what to say to a lady

  • Bring the keyboard back dammit!.......Bring it back now!.........AHHHHHHHHHH!!!

  • Mod Crimpers! Groovy...is he rich like me?...

  • Grew up listening to this (from my Mom's time period) and now raising my kids with the same music!

  • Great song from the days in 1968

  • i grew up listening to my music which was 60's 70's and my parents music which was the 40's 50's . My kids grew up listening to the same music mine and their grandparents.

  • @faythfill yah me too i was born 3 years later then your mom but i still remember the parties and concerts. The long hair bell bottoms beads..

  • it is the time of the season

  • i wish for a place that plays this music al the time where i live

  • drugs

  • This song is the shit...just smoked the SHIT...high as shit...ha

  • very very great music

  • Comment removed

  • im 21 and i wish i was born in the 50s to experience this first hand. but if time travel ever gets invented im going to the 60s first!!

  • @killersnoogans

this WAS the sixties dude, brush up on your history before you go building that time machine.

  • @DblJacknCokewitlemon well if i was born in the 60s i would be a baby/child and wouldnt be able to actually experience the 60s but if i was born in the 50s i would at least be 10 or older so i would be able to. especially if i was born exactly in 1950 i would be 17 in the summer of love so it would be perfect.. so yea maybe think before you type?

  • @killersnoogans I was born in 1960 and I remember listening to these songs, when my older sister played them on her portable turn table and 45s. so your statement does not hold up.

  • I like the 60's !!

  • I want some LSD L25 :)

  • Odessey&Oracle was a missed classic album

  • Great song!

  • his voice makes me happy (:

  • Is this being played in a higher key than the original studio recording? Sounds good, but weird lol.

  • @ladistar Not sure, taken from vinyl compilation LP, thanks for listening.

  • @YCSMusic =YCS...some slide show improvements. Good Job!

  • @ladistar .....it;s the original as it aired on the radio......

  • @ladistar - sounds normal to me.

  • @ladistar no its not a higher key. i remember listening to this back in the late 60's when it came out.

  • @glanza58 there IS a slight difference in pitch if you listen to this 3:25 version and compare it to the version on here posted by xGoldSparrowx at 3:42. not alot of people would notice it, though.

  • @snakehunter1964 i think this one sounds different because its the regular and old one, and the other one is a more newer version...

  • @xoxoIZZYProductions could be.

  • @ladistar i think it is slightly higher. the song was recorded in E, but this is almost F.

  • @ladistar I often notice the same thing when listening to oldies in a digital medium. This seems like it's a half step higher in pitch to me. Whatever it is, you are right...it sounds damn good.

  • @ladistar Actually, it sounds just a hair fast to me, which would raise the pitch slightly, too. Since it's from vinyl, I wonder if the uploader has a control on his/her turntable to change the speed of revolutions per minute. The proper speed can vary just a little bit from record to record. This one might need to be slowed down, but just a bit. It still sounds great.

  • @ladistar The electric current in England is diffrent from that of America, so the turntable spins a tad faster hahah thats why the frequencies rise :)

  • @ladistar It's in exactly the same key...it's just the changing times, my friend!

Happens to me all the time...

  • @ladistar I think its being played too fast. too high of rpm

  • @ladistar it's not being played in higher key. it's being played faster. personally i think it sounds better. in the original, the bass is off beat.

  • @ladistar Good pick-up. The clip uploaded by RiuDoamnei sounds like the original, and the key's a half step lower.

  • @ladistar it's the same recording, but it's played in a faster rpm (probably a mistake)

  • @ladistar I`m an old fart..and nope..that`s right...

  • man i was born in the wrong era unlike crap these so called people call songs these days -__-

  • You did a fantastic job!

  • love this song :)

  • fun time was had by all...really it was fun..i was there..

    Nowadays everyones stressed out...Bummer man.

  • love the music, hate the generation

  • i wish i waz in d 50's nd 60's with a nice oldie car with my luv at my side and weed ,,, ill call dat my heaven

  • used to love when this came on the oldies station (101.5) as a child in the backseat of my parents' car. Of course I kept it inside, as growing up in the 90's it was uncool to like your parents music.

  • I was in ninth grade and wondering what I was going to do for the rest of my life....

  • muy bueno....

  • not hit uk???? really ??? why? cuz the beatles?!?

  • I was working at a western USA radio station in 1968 and this song was really big at our station and with our listeners.

    wikipedia says he following:

" made its breakthrough in early 1969, over a year after the band split up, reaching #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 in Canada. It did not chart in the band's native Britain, although in mid-1969 it peaked at #2 on the South African hit parade."

    People really liked it.

  • whats your name? whos your daddy? lol yea thats right..

  • "What's your name? / Who's your daddy? / Is he rich like me?" Possibly the best lines in music history.

  • Im only 28 but ive loved this song since 7th grade!!!!!!

  • LOL

  • Whose your daddy?

  • GREAT song, love it

  • What a voice - great song. Who's your daddy!

  • wish i had some weed...

  • @Bladerunner93 mm, shared feeling: booze simply doesn't do the trick for this.

  • @Bladerunner93 I'll smoke this mound of hash in your honor....

  • @Taud yeah man, melt it up. Lookin' at leprechaun's snakebite in my old faithful. Y

  • @Bladerunner93

    wish i had some acid

  • @Bladerunner93

wish I had.... some more than I do

  • youtube " Sunset riots of 1966" thats how it was back then.

  • The Zombies recorded November 1968 Time Of The Season Recorded Abbey Road Studios Odessey and Oracle Released April 19, 1968 (UK) June 1968 (U.S.)

  • i was born in 87 and have total respect for this, grew up to it...but also got to see what was music before it died 5-10 years ago

  • a chick sitting behind me in my math class did this pck pck ahhhhh in 1971 - she liked this song as did i

  • hell no i dont want to ever return to the 60,s.america was a very sick and hypocritical society then. why do you think people were turn on to this kind of music because it made you forget the world outside.living today is a wonderful time you have more freedom and a better standard of living.

  • @rigoberto565 Today is a wonderful time? What planet are you from?

  • @Prayingbear777 Today's a wonderful time for those who enjoy real music.

I think that's what he meant.

  • @rigoberto565 i was about to say "but what about all the free "love"? (sex) ya- the only problem is its all gone - there was a lot of bullshit going on back then , as today- 4 dead in Ohio, though we had cutting edge music

  • @rigoberto565 More freedom my ass.....Umm...you were here for the Bush administration right?? I'll take the 60's anyday...

  • @cichlid16 You're an ignorant ass. Wake up mother fucker... those poor bastards were sent to war by a Democrat and they weren't a volunter army back then.
