put that in front of a car door, ppl run to their car and it explodes and the car explodes killing everyone or at least most of them, and thats my strategy on how to use a claymore
Lol wow. Between 0:04 and 0:05, the dirt actually blasted onto the screen of the camera like bullets. I wonder if the face of the cameraman just instantly turned brown?
In Canada they are only Command Detonated. Nato countries are not suppose to have them as anti-personnel mines, but instead they are suppose to be used defensively.
I got a friend in the Air Force, he's doing EOD stuff. He told me a story of some people in Iraq that did just that on the front of all their vehicles. They got ambushed and sure enough the claymores killed everyone. Since claymores explode mostly to the front, the remaining frags went back into the engine of the vehicles and they were stranded. So you definitely don't want to be caught in front of a claymore, but I wouldn't even want to be behind it when it goes off. :P
Uh, physics does not work that way, if there is an amount of force going in one direction then generally there is an equal force going in the opposite direction. You would die.
Actually when i was in infantry school, they detonated a claymore skywards. The balls fell harmlessly on our heads. We were also wearing body armor and K-Pots.
Last year on x-mas eve I went downstairs to go to the bathroom but i saw a bloody evil red-eyed santa staring at me I died that night, If you don't copy and past this to 10 vidios b4 the clock strikes 12:00 A.M. you will see an evil santa killing a little girl in the same room as u!
In addition, in training you never know where shrapnel and fragments will end up. Even though the SMCT says your backblast area is 16 meters, you still might end up with a fragment of the outer shell or a scissor leg flying backwards at a high rate of speed. Safety during training is paramount. In combat, if you aimed your mine properly you dont need to watch while you fire it either. Good call jarhead!
FYI, you ALWAYS get behind a barrier or in the hole befor you detonate a claymore. Why? Because at night the gooks (enemy) may have turned the claymore around and you end up firing it on yourself. The guy in the second blast would have been dead meat.
You need a seriously big set of balls to crawl up to a line of live claymores & turn them around...a very daring strategy though & I imagine damn effective if it works. Why not bury small AP mines in front of the Claymore, exactly where the person would lie in order to reverse it?
Also, aren't Claymores armed by a pin & trip wire as well as electrical connector? Surely once its armed any fiddling with it would set it off, or can they be made safe with ease?
@Palfium66 To disarm a claymore, the safest way is to set it of... shoot it or roll a tire on the trip wire... But im not sure how to do it without the mine blowing up... perhaps cut the wire so the sprint is still in it? (I would go with the tire thing)
This is soooo much harder and longer to set up than CoD

lot of stupid people on here, anyway...
what was the name and rank of your rso and oic, ncoic?
they need to be fired, relief for cause etc.
non standard use of standard munitions etc.
totally irresponsible and negligent in their actions.
what was their plan when they had a misfire and had to call eod?
how were they going to explain a buried claymore?
eod would have reported the non standard use AND any difficulty/injuries/deaths incurred while clearing the range would be their fault.
