@flymarvin Ok, seriously? I'm a drummer as well and although a very standard sounding solo, I wouldn't go so far as to say a caveman can do it. That takes years of practice even to play what he did. I appreciate Pasillas' drumming more for his actual studio work. Listen to his drumming on some Incubus songs and you'll appreciate him a lot more, that man can kill a groove.

This is at Red Rock, Colorado i think is the state. any way its a MASSIVE natural rock formation that allows for perfect acoustics so its great for live performances.

Yes, there has to be a comparison of a drummer compared to everyone else because you are a Peart-A-Holic. If drumming could be relevenatly compared to other people who drum, of different genre mind you, then we could compare math or english grades to whatever the hell you want. The point is, Peart has a different style, and his solos are pre-perpared before he goes out and plays. Whislt this drum solo was meant to get the crowd going. Have you heard some of the songs he even does? They are great

EVERYONE who solos on stage, whatevever instrument, has prepared solos, or least a combination of rhythm techniques they've palyed many times in the past. Three of them together is simple & weak. Jose's solo is only OK (6 on a scale of 10). He just starts a paradiddle rhythm, then speeds it up, Stops. Then starts a new rhythm, speeds it up, Stops. etc...

But NEIL PEART gives you a story in his greatest solos (although Neil needs to leave them damn keyboards alone). I'm an accomplished drummer.
