I had SRS with Dr. Brassard in Sep 2009. I am absolutely pleased with him and So were the other 10 that I was there with. Yes, I was only in the hospital for about 3 days before going to the house for the girls (next door to the hospital) but that was no problem because I think you recover quicker that way. It has been a year now and I still think I made the right decision.
If you take the same surgeon who did the surgery the first time, the price will be lower than it was the first time. If you have to take another surgeon, the price will be the same as if you've never had surgery, because for him it's a new surgery.
Whoa... That's interesting because my first surgery was covered by insurance as it was a septorhinoplasty to correct deviated septum, but he also shaved down a hump that I happened to have.
However, now, since there is scar tissue and still a bit of a hump, I want to get a touch-up to fix the problem... So it will be covered by insurance again, or maybe I have to pay for anasthesia?
I don't know, maybe your insurance paid because your operation was to correct a physical problem,e.g. breathing problems, so your insurance covered it. Here, in Canada, a rhinoplasty can be covered by the public health care system if it's considered a medical necessity; however,if you have a rhinoplasty to enhance your looks or because you don't like your nose, you have to deal with a private clinic and pay out of your own pocket, no matter how much you may hate your nose.
In your case, I don't know if your insurance will pay this time. It's possible they will since the first surgery was not done properly. I guess it depends on how your insurance company sees this surgery. Is it necessary from a medical point of view? or is it just a matter of aesthetics?
If it's true he does over 200 SRS surgeries a year, then he should reduce so he could put more time into the ones he does do, then, maybe, we would all have the results we deserve.
I had SRS in Britain with Royle in 1999, and was in hospital ten days post surgery. In Montreal they boot you to a hospice in four when you're able to get on your feet. I know two people who went to Montreal and have regrets they went there.
I'm sorry for the way he treated you, but I'm glad to see I'm far from the only who was unhappy with his services. One of the only things we can do is share our stories with as many people as possible to prevent them from going to him; that way, there will be less unhappy people, and it will hurt him where it hurts the most for people like him, the wallet. You said you had both on the same day, both what? And what problems did you have with him? If you don't mind my asking. Thanks.
I had both on the same day Jan 16, 2007 which included a rhinoplasty and a bed by the window. I saw Dr Brassard again at the BE All 2008 he said he would resolve the problems we hadand never did anything. He just did not care that I received the services from his clinic that I PAID HIM to provide. Once he has your money He doesn't care about you. In his clinic he stops by your room for 10 minutes every few days.
I had GRS with Brassard in January 2007 and live in Illinois just north of Chicago. Is it possible to contact the person in the surgery account? I have a painful story about Montreal and Dr. Brassard.
Are you talking about the info on the failed rhinoplasty, next to the video? If so, I am the person whose nose needs a touch up. I would be more than happy to hear your story. I posted these videos and stories because I'm sure many others have had bad surgery results with Brassard. You can write about your bad experience in an e-mail and send it to my e-mail address, which I will post on my account, in the comments section. I would post it here, but it doesn't work;the message doesn't stay.
Right! Also, Brassard is quite the liar. In the beginning of this interview he says that he treats 15 to 20 cases of SRS from people in Quebec a year and 5 or 6 more from abroad. That comes down to about 325 SRS operations in 13 years. Then Brassard states he's done 1500 SRS surgeries so far, for the past 13 years. Where does that 1500 number comes from?
Maybe when he says 'abroad' he means Europe (although I'm sure he does more than 5-6 a year from there. He told me he does over 200 srs surgeries a year, and that sounds about right since he does 4-5 a week. I had surgery with him 2 years ago and had an excellent experience... I've had 6 surgeries in my transition, and the one with him was the most problem-free. I understand people have different experiences with the same surgeon but my SRS with him had the best aftercare and went very smoothly.
i would love to see your before/after surgery.
