Congratulations to you and your director on a fine performance of a great piece of music. I have done this with a 5th/6th grade choir and another version of the same poetry with a select girls chorus. It is stirring music and lyrics that will stay with you for the rest of your life, I hope. A beautiful memento of an awful time in human history. I will save the performance to show to my current students. Great job.
Thank you for posting! I haven't heard this song in years. We performed it in the North Carolina Boys Choir some years ago and it has stuck with me. Beautifully performed. I'm grateful for the opportunity to revisit!
I'm signing this in April with my chorus. It gives me chills, especially "Terezin". We have a small choir singing that, and I'm honored to be a part of that Chamber Choir.
I performed this myself with a choir nearly 20 years ago, and have never been a part of any artistic experience that meant as much. Thank you for sharing it.
I think that Charles Davidson's version is much better than anything else I have heard! (This is the only recording of his work on You Tube).
I admit that I am prejudiced-I was part of a choir that premiered this work in 1971!!!(okay-I'm 53 now!). It is part of a cycle of other poems from Terezin set to music. The whole work is called-not surprisingly-"I Never Saw Another Butterfly". I know the whole thing by heart still and was singing along silently with you!
Thank you. I was wondering what version of the song you listened to and where it is, because i want to know what the different versions of it are like.

This whole set is one of my favorite pieces of music of all time. While this is not perfect, it's definitely not bad!

You were a member of Columbus Boychoir? I watched my brother perform this with the choir in 1972 or 1973 at McCarter Theatre.
