I had to get the car dyno tuned, I would recomend getting a reputable shop with a dyno make you a custom tune. If your gonna go with that cam I would get bigger injectors too.

@NorCalLt4 Stock injectors are fine. They have proven fine with bigger cams as well.

Yes I have the same cam and when I have my smog legal exhaust on it will pass everytime and I live in CA also.

What was the idle set in this video? Did it have a tune? and was it stalled or anything? I have a 95 formula 6 speed but i see urs is an auto jw what supporting mods it had. I'm interested in doin this cam swap over the winter

who or where did you send/take to do your tune? they did a fine job... i must know rod knock= 355 in my formula =forged bottom with this cam or maybe a gm 847 @ 113... i have the aldl cable and software but would like a good base tune to work with... please hit me back

u have to get a otvc cover kit(over the valve cover) it comes with the wires and looms

oh sweet man, gotta love a 69 maro. the weather and track prep have alot to do with the traps, neither of which are desirable at lvms. you mean tmw right? ill be out there, hopefully see ya there

any chance i could hear it through the magnaflow pipes? getting an lt4 hot cam if i can get this 95 formula im lookin at and wondering which exhaust wounds the best (deep and lopey with cam) hows it sound?

yeah, im gonna try to get a vid in a few days actually. the magnaflow is fairly quiet. i am gonna be installing an x pipe and dynomax bullets this week, so hopefully that gets me the nice deep sound im lookin for. ill be sure to post up vids of both in the coming week

it shoot gas on the plug and and if you shut it off to quick after a rev the spark plugs get fouled out

Nice I like the OTVC plug wires. Have you noticed how some peoples video of the hotcam doesnt lope very much but others (like yours) lopes and chops alot. Might be others idle are set too high.

thanks man, and that vid was right after the install, stock idle at 650, then i had it tuned and it sounds basically stock, and the idles set at 800, so that is the main difference. takes off alot better from a stop after the tune tho

So after you had it tuned it made it sound more like a stock cam? Did you ask them to set the idle at 800? I will be firing up mine for the first time soon with the hotcam, 1.6 RR's, and open mac mids. I hope the cam doesnt sound close to stock . I hope it chops like yours in this video. I guess well see.

nah, i didnt ask em to set it that high, i just told em that i had the cam and i guess they just set it that high to make it easier to take off. before i had it tuned it hesitated a bit before it would go, i think it had to do with idle bein to low. good luck with your install, its definitely good bang for the buck. post a vid up when your done man

Its bad for the spark plugs to rev the car up and then quickly turn the engine off just to let you know.
