Can't believe I'm saying this, but I think this is the best live version of this song I've heard. It still makes me cry every time. Jimmy Page is poetry in motion.
Just lately after a 20 year break - I'm re discovering the genious of Jimmy Page - he has been accused of being sloppy live sometimes but when you look at the songs he has created his musical legacy is just enormous - th is is one of my favourites of his - a very haunting tune.
Great performance but look at 4:42 hoy Jimmy laughs and denies at the mistake they made. Previously Chris began the verse a little bit earlier than he had to and when he finished the lyrics the guitar still had to go on two more tempos and Jimmy had no chance and stoped playing the riff, hahaha. The solve it without any problem.
@jimmipage77 And that's what make the difference between a great musician and a mediocre one. 'The show must go on' is not just a catch phrase - it's a talent!
the black crowes are bad azz enuff butt the hook up wit jimmy is epic, and look at all the bands jimmy has hooked up with over the years ,thats passion for wat ya love,ROCK-ON!
I've have "Live At The Greek." Page and the Crowes compliment each other beautifully. They should definitely get together and make another album, live or otherwise.
saw them live at the Greek in LA on this tour. You have no idea how f'ing incredible of a show it was. 3 hours of Jimmy and the Crowes belting out Zeppelin tunes. It was pure heaven. I was blown away by how tight the band was with Jimmy for the entire show. I've seen the Crowes live 8 times and the truly know how to bring it live. Chris always sings with so much passion and soul. Thanks for posting the video. Brought back some great memories!
I was never a Black Crowes fan, but they did a great job here with Page. The twin Telecasters really thicken up the sound, and Page gets his "army of guitars" sound.
As much as I love everything Zeppelin did (up until Jonesey took over) I think this version is what this song was always waiting to be. The Black Crowes are everything Zeppelin could have been if they'd had an orchestra of guitars and Chris Robinson's vocals. Great footage.
Am I the only one who didn't know Jimmy Page toured with The Black Crows??
But then again, in 2000 I was probably zooted and missed it!!:(
This shit is KILLA!!!

Has anyone ever told the singer to stop cupping the mic with his hand?! It sounds like he's singing through a megaphone.

@kmy137 I think that's the best Jimmy Page LIVE version of this song. Still like Robert Plant best on vocals though.
