"I'll stop when it gets boring"

    People in audience: "NEVER!"

Thom acknowledges this with the flicker of the head.

  • Celestial....

  • Like Lotus Flower, you would never have thought it'd end up so funky

  • Staircase

  • I swear that man can do anything lol. Even HE is strugglin a bit to play that song and sing it at the same time! Still doin it though. Quite well in fact haha.

  • radiohead ripped off coldplay and muse.

ha, yeah right. radiohead is filet minion, coldplay is a styrofoam cup. which makes muse a doodie.

  • @Banged147Chicks Holy christ man! Did someone actually say that? Which idiot said it?

  • @Banged147Chicks Muse and Radiohead comparrisons are so retarded. there is no point anymore, Coldplay are terrible though, so therefore you cant compare them to good music

  • Why are American audiences so disrespectful?! I'm even American and I'm not ashamed to say that. JUST SHUT THE HELL UP AND LISTEN TO THE BEAUTIFUL MUSIC!!!

  • @perfectupper90 I know i'm Canadian and i think the same thing from America in general.

  • @perfectupper90

I thing saying 'wooohooo' makes people feel part of something...

  • @perfectupper90 dood i can dig listening to bootlegs of rh you kinda think "shut up im trying to listen..im paying to hear them sing not you!!" but when i saw rh live i became one of those morons....seeing them live is the closest you can get to seeing the beatles perform...simply put its magical experience( something you can tell your grandkids "yeah i saw them live back in __) shared by the band and audience..you cant help but scream in pure amazement and gratitude..

  • Wow this song recently came out in the studio version. This was the very first incarnation of the song a year earlier,

  • i gotta get myself a semi-hollow. just lends itself to more soulful music.

  • love both versions. thank you for the music Radiohead. ILY <3

  • You could always tell with how simple yet moving this song was that it had potential to be much more. Reminds me of how Thom said he comes up with the skeleton of the song and the rest of the band fill in the gaps and make it sound like a complete song..

  • I've been loving them for the last 18 years!!!!

  • I will always love this version

  • @1005MYBABY Both are amazing to me.

  • thom yorke rocks.

  • IT'S CALLED STAIRCASE!

  • How do I buy this track? Does anyone know?

  • @EmJuDol It's not avalible for purchase yet.

  • staircase <3

  • amazing song ....make me cry

  • Oceansize - Music For A Nurse

  • Chords?

  • can anyone tell me what guitar it is that Thom is playing here?

  • @ChristyBobs Pretty sure it's a Gibson ES-339.

  • @ChristyBobs

its a ES 330 td ... p90 pick ups... hallow body

  • @ChristyBobs

its a ES 330 td ... p90 pick ups... hallow body

  • Is there anywhere i can get the tab for this?

  • @ChristyBobs Check out Warren Lain's tutorial video

  • he's hotter now than 10 and 15 years ago....

  • @birkwin Indeed he is ;)

  • it must be hard indeed.we live in times that do not deserve thom for most of the people are too mainstream to understand him and the true beauty of his music.even as renowned as he is, I still think he is underrated.

  • this makes my nipples erect

  • @winduonline we can hear this song all day together :)

  • i like it

  • Could someone tell me who Chris Hodge is plz?

  • Comment removed

  • do anyone knows the exact name of the guitar he's playing ?

  • @R1cc4rd00 I'm not 100% sure, or even 50% sure,(maybe like 45% sure ? :))... but it looks like a Gibson ES-335 to me.

  • @gratslogic Thank you ;)

  • @gratslogic This is a Gibson 330 in fact. (mid 60s)

The 335 is a semi hollow body, the 330 is a completely hollow body, not normally useful in loud situations due to insane, uncontrollable feedback. This is a quieter show however. You can tell them apart by the pick ups. The 335 pickups are sort of recessed into the body whereas the 330 pickups appear to he screwed on the top of the guitar.

  • @djangolad Yup your right, I was almost thinking it was an Epi Casino, but then I realized the obvious lack of the white pick guard, besides the logo doesn't look right, and yeah the pickups are p90s, as far as I know 335's have never had P90s, which is the one of the differences between them besides the full hollow. You have to remember that Thom liked to use a 125T a lot, including on There There to get the feedback in the beginning and the end, Which was also full hollow and had P90s

  • Thom is God

  • He played this on my birthday :D !!

  • As he starts playing guitar, closes his eyes, he is 300% concentrated, invested in his music, and then it's pure magic, this man is a living legend

  • And what has "Atoms for Peace" to do whith this??

  • Comment removed

  • Never what you would expect, always better each album :)

  • loving it...

  • at 'Let me take control' and 'And I always will' I get hardcore chills. It seems to happen every time I listen to it.

  • utterly beautiful, can`t wait to see you at the big chill Thom

  • wow, haunting in all its beauty, as usual

  • Those first lyrics he spits out make the hair on my arm fly towards the sound. "I walked down the stair case, magnetic pull..." the way he sings it is beautiful.

  • At about 2:17 you hear some stupid girls scream... If you listen super closely I think someone says "Shut up" Haha... I hope

  • Magnetic pull...

  • I refuse to die until i see this man live

  • @jirdimaster I'm right there with you dude.

  • I WAS THERE!!!!

  • Mrs Yorke, Flea, Godrich & Waronker, why don't you come this summer in France to the Rock En Seine festival? Last year, another super supergroup played there: Them Crooked Vultures...

  • Its obvious the song is still in the developing stages but its clearly the best of all the new songs so far. Vaguely reminds me of bullet proof/ weird fishes melancholic types of songs. It will be much better as a full band song. This is going to be good.

  • @pleasenononsense I double dig that with the whole band.

  • why do people call it chris hodge?

  • spontaneous, improvisation, live on stage, nice work Thom

  • I live in Betchworth please come and do a show there XXXXX

  • 着てるシャツがクールすぎる(笑)

  • Imagine the world without Radiohead...

  • @osek07 a very scary thought.

  • @osek07 i don't want to...

  • not impressed :s

  • @cricket0503 seriously?!?!?!??! :O

  • I have to say, I was at this performance and it was phenomenal......It wasnt showy, or flashy. A very simple stage with a very simple set up. The focus was the music. This, everything in its right place, and harrowdown hill were three of the most perfectly put together live pieces I've ever heard. The man has such talent.....It really is breath taking.......Flea was the icing on the cake.

  • I was there and very underwhelmed.

  • It must be so hard to have the best voice in the world and the most songwriting talent the 21st century has ever known. So hard.

  • @warrenmusic

    don't exaggerate, please

  • Comment removed

  • @shera152031

that is purely subjective and highly exaggerated nonetheless

  • @LfunkeyA about warren's comment: He wasn't. He said 21st century, not of all time. Besides, all time wouldn't be far off itself.

  • @Conacostock

both are far off. that's like ignoring every musician on the planet. he's just popular because once radiohead was a commercial band (still are to an extent). there are so many great lesser known or unknown musicians. he's a great musician, but greatest? that's just pure bias.

  • @warrenmusic Oh come on, let's quit with all the elitist bullshit. Radiohead are fantastic, and Thom is genius, but we can say the same for thousands more, many of which most of the world likely doesn't even know. They are among an infinite landscape of great music as I see it.

  • @skullface89 Hey people, try not to take what I said too seriously... it was completely tongue-in-cheek. A grand, sweeping statement like that is impossible to back up.

  • @warrenmusic Ah, I see, fair enough. We do need to find ways to express appreciation for the music we love. I'm just too used to Radiohead fans making those kinds of statements as fact.

  • @skullface89 Radiohead fans are an interesting breed. Rarely have I met a Radiohead fan is not obsessed on some level. Either that or all they know is "Creep" and therefore, aren't really fans in the other fans' eyes. So yeah, I'm not surprised people state stuff like that as fact.

  • @warrenmusic But you know, you have to admit - Paranoid Android is one mind blowing, incredible journey. It puts me in a place few other songs can get near.

  • @skullface89 I most certainly concur.

  • @warrenmusic wow that is so true. yes. im one of the obsessed fans.

  • @warrenmusic There's a few different types of Radiohead people... People who understand them & like em that goes both ways for a dislike... People who don't understand them & like em. Finally you have people who understand enough who know when music is good.

  • @skullface89 tru dat

  • @warrenmusic haha yea it must be hard to be genius. he probably wrote that brilliant melody in ten minutes taking a shit that morning

  • @warrenmusic he doesnt have the best voice or the best songwriting, but he creates the best sound

  • @warrenmusic so hard, or so easy?

  • Comment removed

  • @warrenmusic i've been stabbing myself in the eye lately to be more like him, but so far it's only given me pain.

  • @warrenmusic ha, yep.

  • @warrenmusic no, it must be fucking awesome

the only truth is told by him allready; about songwriting:

"once you start doing it you're fucked"

    now I know he's right

  • @warrenmusic dont forget elliott smith

  • @warrenmusic he's amazing guitarist to!

  • @warrenmusic EH WARREN UR THE MAN!

  • @warrenmusic i m totally agree with you, but your guitar version is better, thanks for all your cover

  • if lp8 was radioheads last album, and this closed it, i think i'd be ok with that.

  • i am still so sad that i was not able to attend this show

  • Is the last line "I walk down the staircase, I head for the pills"? Am I hearing that right?

  • @hinder90 I think it may be "a magnetic pull", but I'm not really sure either

  • It's pretty mediocre.

  • you are so mid 80's

  • This sends shivers down my spine, can't quite believe I'm seeing this tonight, it's just too amazing to comprehend. I could almost cry with happiness, how geeky is that?

But I gotta say, if those idiots who shout during lovely quiet songs like this are anywhere near me, there are gonna be some fistfights are the Aragon Ballroom tonight!

  • AMAZING!!!

I Could listen to Thom for ever..

  • Its so melancholic, I love it.

  • it's titled Let Me Take Control

  • Amazing song... so deep.

  • his voice is fucking spectacular!....proper pulls on your heart strings!

  • @sashalovesderek

There's a reason he "pulls" on your heart strings.

He's one of GODS special elect to wake up those still sleeping :-) Us, who have been following for years have enjoyed the growth, maturity, clarity, beauty, godly sound of voice and instruments.

  • @robbiek77 too true there :) iv been who of those 'followers' ever since I was born..and I am 18 years old now... Radiohead and Thom Yorke will never get old...and anyone who tells me their music doesn't touch them, must have hearts of concrete, in all fairness :)...completely agree with your comment there mate! peacex

  • I am a happy person who makes animations and music; just trying to get the word out there.

  • tracks on in rainbows (video tape, faust arp) hinted at a more stripped down approach in music that may start utilizing. I'd love to hear a radiohead album with simple arrangements like this, backed with some percusion (a la reckoner) with some electronic sounds.

  • I got the whole song on video too! Check my channel.

  • Absolutely beautiful. Does anyone know the name of the song?

  • Thanks for uploading this video. It brings me right back to Monday. I really enjoyed when Thom came out to perform alone. What a great show!

  • sounds like modest mouse a little.

  • ghedtynuetyumwtyumwe65m6ed6d56=,w56,56,d5mn6tred56mne5m56,me56me56me56m65m,e56m56me....thanx

  • this sounds like a radiohead song than a thom yorke song

  • what guitar is he playing with?

  • @satof1 Gibson ES330. Similar to an ES335 but completely hollowbody, with P90 pickups, and a few other small differences.

  • Yawn.

  • Holy smokes !!!! Some one hand me a razor blade. Stop.

  • I'm gonna sleep....

  • I'm gonna see this Saturday and Sunday!!! and saturday is my birthday heck freakin yes!

  • @Absolute258 cu there - happy birthday! so freaking excited.

  • @barefootbob75 thanks man! yea, i'm so freakin excited! i'm not nearly as big a fan as my cousin who's going with me, but i mean, someone as amazing as Thom Yorke on your birthday, it's so awesome! ^^ thanks again!

  • i hope he release this sound.. it was so beautiful that night!

  • It seems like he's not trying hard enough or something. But it was different, and interesting, and although he's no Satriani, he has a very melodic voice.

    Thumbs up.

  • I can't stop watching this video!!!!

  • like, nice song!

  • : Shh Yeah Shh :D

  • проклевывается приятная мелодичность

  • I think he just made it up and came up with it on the spot. GENIUS!!

  • it sounds very similar to the full band Present Tense as well... i like it though. Not my favorite of the new material though

  • great !

  • The new songs all sound sort of samey. What happened to all his Paranoid Androids, Knives Outs, Wolves at the Doors, and Myxomatosises?

  • Word from Rolling Stone says the new song is called " Walk down the staircase "

  • @BahaVII Apparently that's what he wrote on the setlist, but he told the audience it's still untitled as of yet.

  • @MiniDJBeirne is there a new album out?

  • Comment removed

  • Around 1:22 Thom says "yeah shush" after hearing a lot of shhhh's, although after that, it was dead silent.

  • At one point I thought he was going to play "Reckoner" based on the similar sounding riff, I like how the crowd quieted down for it. Anyone on the left side of the stage? There was an annoying redhead girl who wouldn`t stop screaming, thankfully she stopped when he started playing this. Awesome show!

  • @solidnadz I was next to that chick... tell me about it

  • Love the vocals! Thatta boy, Thom.

  • he was awesome!

  • I think it's "A head full of pears" which makes sense cause thom's just crazy about pears

  • standing 20 yards from this was inspiring

  • I was there, and it was awesome to see everyone so serene and Thom playing this new song.

    Amazing!

  • wow, he is amazing, just to think i was there......

  • LOVE IT!!

  • That last lyric...if I heard it correctly. "I walked down the staircase, I head for the pills." That just got me. I love Thom and everything he does. ♥

  • @blasphemied a head full of pills? thats what i heard last night
