A friend of mine sent me this song as an .mp3 a long time ago, and I've only known it as 'Track 4' for that entire time. Only recent discovered this is actual name of the song, and in turn, I'm starting to listen to all the rest of Celtic Woman :O
Dúlamán means channelled wrack in the Gaelic language. Yes, this song is played in Endless Ocean: Blue World in the Cortica River in the Amazon River.
I love this song. I know of it from Endless Ocean: Blue World and then at the Dublin (Ohio not Ireland) Irish Festival I heard Moya Brennan sing it. LOVE IT!
LOVE this song! My favorite version of this song is done by Altan, though. Celtic Woman is good, but I actually understand it better and learned it from the Altan version.
@lostmansays I've heard a few different things about this song, but mainly they point to it being a seaweed gathering song. Apart from that, I've heard it referred to be a wedding song as well.
@xxTheMiddleGroundxx I saw them perform live, and it's actually about a girl having to choose between two men, and to help pick she compares each one to a piece of seaweed.
@silverhowler999 I first saw Celtic Woman do this live about three years ago in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Meav had left the group, but Lynn Hillary did a very fine job on Dulaman. I saw her do it again two years ago in Kansas City when I was in the 2nd row (about 15 feet from the stage). This year, Lynn was gone, but the newest Celtic Woman member Lisa Lambe did a rousing "new" version with a bit different arrangement and greater power than before.
@1sorryham I completely agree. I love Lisa Lambe's version - and she's a sweetheart to boot!! Very personable when we met her and easy to talk to - enjoyed our night completely!! Can't wait to see the next show!!
This is Meav singing. I've got the DVD recording. Besides, Lynn Hilary is one of the new ones. I think she took Meav's place for a while because Meav got pregnant, or she's a replacment of because Meav left to be a soloist.
@RockerSoccerChick1 Maybe now that Lynn has joined she sings it instead. But the 'original' version was sung by Meav on the Celtic Women CD A New Journey, and when I saw them when Meav was still with them, she was the one who sang it in one of her solos.
@RockerSoccerChick1 this is definitely NOT Lynn. Lynn replaced some of Maev's songs on live shows because the two of them got nearly the same timbre. But their voices are unique enough to differ between them on records.
This version is definitely the one from "A New Journey" sung by Maev
@weienell1 There is not an albulm version of Lynn singing this song. you have to see her live if you want to hear it. All of their CD's with this song is Meav singing.
this is definitely Méav singing! But if anyone has a good recording of Lynn singing this song, I'd really like to hear it. She did a great job in the Songs from the Heart tour.
aperantly its talkinging about an irish mans daugter and a a man from the outside world that wants to take her w him but instead of saying ppl they say seaweed and the ocean as the world
It's definitely Meav singing. When I first heard them on TV this was my favorite song by Celtic Woman. When I saw them live in 2007 at Radio City Music Hall, alas Meav was not there. I figured I wouldn't get to hear this song but I was wrong. It was actually sung by Haley that night and she did a FANTASTIC job! Almost as perfect as Meav.
so awsome.i am going to their 2010 tour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!i am their BIGGIST FAN! IF YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE THEN THINK AGAIN.Not to be rude.

What language is this in? My only guess is Gaelic, but that's solely based on Celtic being in their name.
Unless of course Celtic is a language. In that case, I'll feel like a fool.
