All Catholics should deepen their intimacy with God through prayer, Prayer can happen at the least expected moment. God "knocks". Do we open the door, or do we distract ourselves with TV. We do not know when He might speak to our heart, and we to Him. Prayer must not be a recitation of a formula without love & intimacy with God. Merely saying "salat" does not save us or bring us close to God.

This is a great demonstration of Islam, but can someone explain to me that how can not praying result in such an unjust and unfair punishment? That defeats the purpose of a merciful "God". I was Muslim, and after the religious debates and the Sunni Shi3a arguments I realized that religion simply brings evil to close minded people. So I decided to just follow the origin of all religions, the 10 Commandments, and be morally clean, as a means to stray away from that "evil".

@GODandPEACE Christians, Jews and pagans especially the Arab used to marry more than one women back in those days aswell, they used to marry more than one, but Islam only restricted it to 4 women, only if men can treat them equally and do justice otherwise men should marry one.

Think about wasting a non-renewable resource ? How is that relevant ?

The ayah clearly states that men are guardians over women. The husband works hard daily to earn an honest living from morn till dusk and when he returns home, he expects a wife who is loving and caring, who would take care of his food and other physical needs and be affectionate towards him and in turn, he showers all his love on her and this would constitute a strong family.

All Catholics should deepen their intimacy with God through prayer, Prayer can happen at the least expected moment. God "knocks". Do we open the door, or do we distract ourselves with TV. We do not know when He might speak to our heart, and we to Him. Prayer must not be a recitation of a formula without love & intimacy with God. Merely saying "salat" does not save us or bring us close to God.

IMO God knows our ignorance & strong urge of the flesh(sexual pleasure, greed, hate, etc.). Our choices are never completely free from these factors. Only "Full Consent to & Knowledge of Sin" can fully separate us from God & neighbor! So we can reasonably hope that nobody is in Hell. A retired Catholic priest.

As I have stated God did not need to create us if he didn't want to, but he did, with the sole purpose of us glorifying him and sending thanks to him. Only a lowlife and a bigot would see that there is nothing wrong with a man marrying several women at the same time; and how would you know that women are happy in polygamy you hypocrite? Have you been talking to thousands of these women or are you just lying?
Now explain to us you poor excuse for a brain why in Islam, the testimony of two women is needed to equal that of man? And what does it mean to gender equality.

@GODandPEACE Christians, Jews and pagans especially the Arab used to marry more than one women back in those days aswell, they used to marry more than one, but Islam only restricted it to 4 women, only if men can treat them equally and do justice otherwise men should marry one.

Muslims have to decide whether Islam is universal and timeless or was it intended only for 6th century Arabia; so if all you can come up with in defense of polygamy is that since Christians, Jews and pagans practiced it too in primitive times and Mohammed limited it to 4 therefore that makes it right then you are basically just proving how blind faith can turn believers into complete idiots in defense of their belief .

In Surat Annissae (Women) Ayat 3 states that men are allowed to marry up to 4 wives if they can treat them equally and justly then it comes back in Ayat 129 and says
وَلَن تَسۡتَطِيعُوٓاْ أَن تَعۡدِلُواْ بَيۡنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ وَلَوۡ حَرَصۡتُمۡۖ
“Ye will not be able to deal equally between (your) wives, however much ye wish/try; so why allow polygamy in the first place if none can deal equally between wives?

If there was a God and he/she/it was really as omniscient and omnipotent as all religions say then what need would God have for humans, specially Muslims, to live by rules and pray to him? We would be to him as ants are to us. Do we care if ants pray for us and do we force ants to live by rules and pray to us? Absolutely not. Therefore, I conclude that religion and God is an invention of Man to control other men. This is specially true with Muslims. Peace !!

@bugzy1231 I agree about the good deeds... but not about praying and praising Allah. I do not believe in any religion and, despite this, I am a good person who does good deeds. No one NEEDS religion to be a good person. However, if you need religion to control yourself and thereby good deeds then so be it. I would rather not be controlled by the fairy tale that is religion.

@lalunette Continued - Allah is most-merciful if you make mistakes and pray and repent he will forgive you, But once we die that is not the end we will achieve paradise and will be successful in the hereafter, so all our good deeds and prayers will help us in the hereafter, , so we are just passing through this world, but it was never meant to be for ever, this is my understanding of Islam, it might sound silly to you but it's not to me, I guess it's all about having faith.

I know the truth about Islam that’s why I left it, you are the one who should read about Islam and think at the same time which you can't do.
When the Quran recommends wife beating or states that the testimony of one man is equivalent to that of 2 women or a female inherits half the share of a male or a man can marry up to 4 wives at the same time and so on, you don’t have to be a genius to see that women in Islam are considered inferior to men in many aspects.

As for your sorry defense of the primitive ways of Islam; if you pull your head out of your ass for a moment you will realize that in the real world women work just as hard as men do if not harder and women don’t have a monopoly on badmouthing, men do it to even more, so why didn’t Islam prescribe the same punishment for men? Because Islam discriminates against women and treats them as mentally inferior to men and claims that men are wiser and better decision makers than women.

c)and if that does not work, separate the bed from her and even if that fails, as a last resort he can hit her lightly that too without an impression. Practically, it is saying to the man, hey if you feel the urge to be violent, first control yourself and stop talking to your woman and then separate your bed. Without taking these two steps, you cannot hit her. It is my belief that if all the husbands act upon this verse, then practically there would be no violence at home.

b)On the contrary, he finds his wife bad-mouthed and rude and she shows no appreciation for all his hard work, then in that case there is sure to be a friction between the husband and the wife. A woman naturally uses her tongue as her weapon and it is well known that words are sharper than sword and if it hurts the ego of the man, it is his natural instinct to get physical. For such a situation, Islam is commanding the man to show restrain first and stop talking to his wife

The ayah clearly states that men are guardians over women. The husband works hard daily to earn an honest living from morn till dusk and when he returns home, he expects a wife who is loving and caring, who would take care of his food and other physical needs and be affectionate towards him and in turn, he showers all his love on her and this would constitute a strong family.

6- 24:2-3 administer 100 lashes to adulterers

Just one thing I want to point out is, people like yourself always want to make us Muslims look bad by throwing verses of the Holy Qur'an totally out of context without citing the full verses. You also do not know the background or history of when each verse was made, nor do you know the context that every translated verse is the "interpreted" view from a sheik/imam from the original arabic

1st- My native language is Arabic and I am very well educated so I am much more qualified to interpret the Quran than the charlatans who are in it for their own benefits and not likely to give an honest interpretation that might put at risk their livelihood.
2d- Is there a right context where a man should beat his wife? Is there a context where it is right to own a slave and to have sex with slave woman even if she is married to another slave?
