I have the 9100, haven't beenable to fly it much to get it trimmed right. It doesn't like the wind. Even a light wind. You need a VERY calm day but I like and will wait for that day.
@mYfLASK I guess because it is missing collective pitch on the rotors? How does that make a heli more manuverable for acrobatics? (if it can be explained in simple terms in this setting..b.c. the google results get kind of complex for the layman)
@perryinjax In layman terms, blade pitch is the ability for the blade to travel through a negative and positive position while maintaining a constant head speed, the DH-9100 has one servo to tilt the blade in a forward direction.
@2012SpecialForces Thank you for your comments, I would love to take credit for my flying skills, but I was only re-correcting this helicopter position from the way it decided to fly at that particular time.
@youngkid1021 Yes you can replace the canopy if you don’t want to get the original, you can go for a 200 size, the 250 size will fit, and you may have to re-drill the fixing holes.
@leefuji About seven minutes with the 7.4v Li-poly Battery, if you can keep it in the air for that time, as this 3ch helicopter tends to be a little unpredictable.
Hi. Got my dh 9100 for just 2 days. I haven't crashed it yet but my servo is making a weird sound when i push the controller stick backwards or forwards. Does anyone else has this problem or is it normal? Thanks in advance...
@callofdutyfreak39 These are very nice looking helicopters also at an attractive price they are not easy to fly and would not recommended this for a beginner sorry. ThePatjofski, not crashed yet I am impressed, I would love to see your video. your servo arm may need altering as its sounds like it is bottoming out.
@callofdutyfreak39 I am not saying you shouldn’t get one, but think you will find a coaxial easy to fly, or you could consider building your own 250 size helicopter but it’s your choice at the end of the day.
@mYfLASK ok but i already know what im getting im getting a 9104 which is single bladed but i still want it because it looks great and am very fond of it and it will be very hard to pull me out of it

hi myflask and nice video, ive had my 9100 for a few months now and it is a little too light for flying against wind, to help forward flight try removing the decorative bars on the tail boom. i found a difference without them, also after many flights i noticed the swash plate was coming apart and just needed pressing back together maybe this is something other flyers so look out for on the 9100.
Hi helimadlee thank you for these tips, but unfortunately I no longer have my DH9100, as I have moved up the ladder to a 450 size, but I am sure this will help other 9100 users.

@4GMAN88 Single servo pitches blades forward and backward, Left movement was due to slight breeze as these are very light and hard to control in zero wind.

@mYfLASK I was mistaken, most 3 channel (at least here in the US) are mode 2 or 4, not 1 or 2. The way you described this heli (throttle left stick and turning right stick) I think it's actually mode 4. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but either way thanks for the input.
@jefferyjay01 You could say it was mode 4, without the Ailerons on the left stick or Elevator and the right. I refried this to Mode 2 only to indicate the throttle was on the Left.
Hello myflask - I've removed the training wheels and have graduated from the garage to the great outdoors. I've posted a video of me flying my 9100 after some major repairs (replaced canopy and soldered on a new system board after a bad crash). I also have some other videos of an outdoor flight with my 9101 and some garage flights with my 9053. Check them out if you'd like.
After almost 20 years out of the R/C hobby (Associated, Losi trucks), I've found a new love last few weeks. It started with a cheap Walgreens heli, then a Syma S107G, Alloy Shark, and this is next on the list. Once I get used to the faster flight of a 9100 it's on to a 6 channel.
@MisterUnconcerned same boat : ) and just got my 9100 couldnt take it out today cause its sprinkiling i dont know if there water proof tryed to fly it inside but way to powerful and fast for me to try my first flight with a such a beast indoors lol
@503TD I don’t think the rain is ever going to stop Lol. Would not advise flying in the rain, but there is an alternative to flying indoors, tie pieces of string to the four corners of the skids, tethered down with weights to practice your hovering.
Hi luminouspc thank you for the complement, to be honest these are not the best to learn on, they look great fly very fast, but poor gyro from keeping it stable, it’s not a training video you need, it a large field, and hope for the best.
Hey thanks soulkiss31, these are not easy to control due to the gyro, but on the plus side they look stunning and are very fast, good luck with yours.
Looks like you were flying in a decent amount of wind there. Can't wait for summer time & "no wind" conditions to fly mine outside, right now it's just too windy, I want to be in control, & not have the wind move me backwards as shown in your flight.
Hi phiskah1, there was a little wind, but think TBA effect contributed to the backward movement, as the swash plate was perfectly level, try hovering indoors with no wind you will see wait I mean, don’t get me wrong this is a fantastic helicopter with just a few teething problems.
Thanks semidios1968, yes very lucky with the weather, trimming basically hand launch and grab, then adjust the trimming until I got a decent fly, if that makes sense. Your description of a paper plane is not that far off as you don’t fly these you re-correct the drift, and appears like your flying. LOL.
Hi mYfLASK,,, great video mate. I also have a DH 9100 but mine is now 4ch, much better. The dh 9100 is a great heli and i enjoyed this video.
Many thanks

Can the 9100 do acrobatics? Like loops and rolls?
Please advise, Over...

@perryinjax Possibly but not intentionally as it rotates out of control, realistically no 3ch helicopter can perform 3D manoeuvres, sorry :)

All Double Horse helis are Mode 4. This makes it very easy to jump between models.
When I was setting up my Walkera UFLY I had to set it to Mode 4 to make it work the same.

can anyone tell me what the tx mode for this heli is?
jefferyjay01 9 months ago
@jefferyjay01 If you are talking about the receiver there are two 27mHz and 40mHz that comes with a three channel transmitter to match.
mYfLASK 9 months ago
@mYfLASK Thanks but what I meant is the mode of the transmitter. I assume it is 1 or 2. Basically, which stick do you turn left and right with?
