I always loved that intro. I would love to introduce my grandchildren to Mighty Mouse, I have looked everywhere and I cannot find any DVD's, I've checked shopping malls, Libraries, the internet, to no avail. Actually I found something on the internet but it must have been done after the cartoons I am familiar with.
The original Mighty Mouse TV show showed the old black and white cartoons of the mnvies (or so they appeared on early TV). It aired on Saturday mornings about 10 a.m. on CBS. Andy Kaufman (Taxi) had an early routine in which he would pantomine to this song.
I remember when I was really little, I used to get my hair cut at this place that a special seat for children and they'd let you watch old cartoon VHS tapes of 60s and 70s cartoons while they cut your hair, I always asked them to play Mighty Mouse, even though it was just one tape with one episode on it.
I must have watched that same episode of Mighty Mouse about 70 times as a kid.
This is NOT the same theme song to Mighty Mouse that I remember. This must be an older version for the older generation. The one I remember started off saying Zoom...Zoom...Zoom...Zoom...Booma Booma Booma Booma...Here He Comes, That Mighty Mouse...etc.?
@Thriller26 We can learn so much from both these theme songs. Everything I ever needed to know I learned from Saturday Mourning Cartoons. The loonier the tune, the better.
@Thriller26 You're thinking of the 1987-88 CBS "Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures" theme.
The great Ralph Bakshi, who'd started at Terrytoons, along with 'Ren & Stimpy's John K., revived MM in 1987; it did well until some morons in Kentucky saw Mighty Mouse sniffing flowers in an episode. They went to the American Family Association, who decided that since he was sniffing something, it *must* have been COCAINE!
Mighty Mouse was one of the earliest cartoon shows of my pre-school days-along with Heckle and Jeckle,Gandy Goose,Tom Terrific,Farmer Alfalfa,,,hey,a lot of Terrytoons productions were around during my early years!:-)
@Hi2you21 Oh yes, I know about that channel. It is one of my favorites. I love all the old cartoons they play - especially ones like Laff-A-Lympics. I also love the movies they play, regardless if they're old, like the Flinstones' movies (I Yabba Dabba Doo, Hollyrock-A-Bye Baby, etc...).
The "whoosh" you hear at the end was new animation (after a montage of Mighty Mouse's "greatest hits", literally) of "our hero" riding a rocket into space, then saying [through Terrytoons writer Tom Morrison, his voice from the late '50s through the late '60s], "Hi, boys and girls! Here we go- rocketing into a fun-filled, exciting cartoon show! Hold onto your seats, as we blast off to visit ALL your favorite cartoon stars...".
I never liked Might Mouse. Why the high pitched voice and why did he have to be a mouse? Mickey Mouse way better and he wasn't even doing anything really, he only starred in like minimal cartoons, and they stopped making Mickey cartoons after awhile, and didn't make much sense, but it was about legacy, he magical, Mighty mouse lived hard and burnt out. But he did live hard and burn though, that's what I'm saying about Mighty Mouse, Mighty Mouse new how to light up the scene and save the day.....
This is my all time favorite cartoon ever and it is dumb they dont come up with a tv channel called classic cartoon network lol cuz I would so watch it
@sabulba30 try the channel called Boomerang,,, i watch it all the time,, has all kinds of classics like looney tunes, tom and jerry (original ones) jetsons etc,,, i bet they have mighty mouse too!!! I dont know if ur able to get this channel but its worth a try right?
@sabulba30 I also loved Mightly Mouse every Saturday morning real earlly with my bowl of corn flakes back in the days like 50's. Yes, I am very fortunate to continue to live and still have all of my mental compacities to recall all of the nice good stuff from back then. Mighty Mouse was my Hero!
