  • FORE!

  • How much pressure do you put inside the cannon tank?

  • @benut2001 No more than 100 psi in this one

  • Nice! I have built one that is working pretty much on the same principle also at 100psi. The main diference is that the piston is on a second tank and drive the main valve direcly all the way through the principal tank. The trigger is also through the tank and open a litle hole in the flange bitween the 2 tanks. Whitch activate the piston and pull back the main valve. Your cannon il great!

  • u could also trow the balls...

  • nah, that's not as much fun.

  • Thats a fail comment sir.

  • thats loud nice canon dude

so is this clear T hard to find?

    she is expensive for sure

  • Thanks.

The clear fitting is a modified y-strainer. It wasn't cheap (about $50), but it was certainly cheaper than using standard clear PVC fittings to build a similar valve.

  • Hey thanks a lot.

  • One more question, you are using a 1.5 inch barrel, but I have a potato gun with a 1.5 inch barrel and golf balls are much to big to fit?

  • There is some area exposed to pressure. If you go to the link in the description you can see that the piston is slightly larger than the area it seals against. This creates the force to move it initially, and once it starts to open there is much more area to make it open very fast.

The barrel is 1.5" SDR21 which has a thinner wall then normal 1.5". It is typically used on large sprinkler systems. So if you are looking for it try irrigation stores. It is also known as class 200 pipe.

  • I have an odd question, it just dawned on me the there is no surface area on the piston that is exposed to the high pressure where it will be pushed down? can you explain this?

    Thanks for the info

  • are you using a 2 inch T to slide over the breach?

how did you file out the entire inside of it?

  • 1.5" tee, it also has o-rings on the inside to improve the seal. I used a lathe to remove the lip.

For something easier to build you could use a 2" tee with 2"x1.5" bushings in each end.

  • k thanks for all the help man

  • i need that middle clear section. how did you make the piston? How do you store the air power inside that tube? what did you use for an air supply? please relpy, and awesome work. I will pay you for you to construct such a device for me. Thanks

  • The air pressure is held in by the piston. It is filled through a standard 1/4" quick connect with a 5 gallon air compressor. The piston was made with various PVC fittings that were cut to the proper size on a lathe. You can get more information and pictures through the link in the description. Sorry, I'm not willing to sell them because I don't want to deal with the liability.

  • probably best design ive seen

  • very nice! Now all we need is some may to make a magazine and have it auto-fill and shut off at a certain pressure and you got it going pump! =)

  • I saw your presentation of this gun on SPUDFILES. I'm glad to have seen it in action. Nice work!
