@PJSantryII yep, me too. and the one on sat. night there was lightning like that, too. not a whole bunch of huge bolts really, just the flashing all the time, lighting up the entire sky. that is when you know the storm is getting severe. creepy!!!!

i remember this like it was yesterday! i was all alone in my home with my dog pacing back and forth. my home does not have a basement so i called my mom and woke her up (she is actually my neighbor) and told her about it. she was fast asleep but told me to come over. i packed up some things and took my dog and bolted over to her house, almost got hit by lightning. what a scary night. we lost trees and had a lot of damage to both homes. luckily i am a night owl so i was not caught off guard.

Tornado warnings are scary!! But you just have to expect that it's going to happen one day.

I grew up in Erie. Anyone who lived through the tornado outbreak of May 31, 1985 them take tornado warnings very seriously up there. And I remember storms in 1984 and 1987 where funnel clouds were spotted right over downtown Eie.

Heh, I love the super doppler tracking rain from street to street... "ZOMGZ it's raining harder on State Street than on Parade Street!"

Yes we do have tornado sirens. I live in Sandusky county just below erie county.

clyde, this was Erie county PA. I remember the storm as we had just returned home from a cast party from a play we were in at the time, and the weather alerts were sounding almost constantly.

OMG that was rlly rlly scary and I LIVE IN GIRARD IN ERIE to just in case i went in my basement im like omg this is rlly scary AND OHIO PPL SAY U HAVE 2 LEAVE UR WINDOWS OPEN DURING ONE! (its a myth just so ya know!)

dark tornadoes.right?it will only appear when the weather is too dark and cant seen until theres lightning to see

Actually, I pretty sure most tornadoes occur when there is enough light to see them. This just happened to occur at night. Tornadoes at night are especially dangerous because they are difficult to see.

ya it's pretty "erie" lol.. there's a lot of bad weather out there now and we're under a tornado watch there's a big system south of there but will probably miss us for the most part.. and it's like 12:18 AM CST!
