watched all your videos now.... you are an excellent player, and your instructions are very knowledgeable and informative. Well done and I cant wait for more.
Looking at the momemnt at/around the first critical position: are there tricks along the a2-g8 diagonal? I see Bb3, Qf7, Kg8 lined up, and White has temporary control of the e6 square.
I saw that too, but I couldn't to come up with any means of using this feature to turn the game to White's advantage. The problem is that Black's Nb4 and Qf7 support d5, so tactics involving c4-c5 are usually met by ...d5.
Hey Matt, long time watcher first time commenter. I was wondering if you could do some more videos on some basic king and pawn endings. I bet if you went on Fics and used the endgamebot you could cover several situations in one video. just a thought
Yeah, those endings are good for people of my rating (1550-1600) basic ending principles. And the blocking thing is something I did but never knew I did, if you see what I mean.
But can I ask you to do another live blitz. The one where you sac queen and then win in the last seconds was the best live commentary I ever saw. You can think and talk at the same time - thats something! And just listening to your thought processes in the games is really instructive.
Yes! Please more blitz games! You really have a gift for it. You and krakkaskak are the only two on youtube who are really good at giving lucid commentary while blitzing, and krakkaskak seems to be doing other things now, so it's all up to you. You must carry the torch! It is your destiny!!!!
good stuff!

Another nice video Matt, I don't know if there is one opening you prefer most, but if there is what is it?

First! Hell yeah!
Thanks for the videos, Matt Pullin, I would totally want to be friends with you but I respect your no-friends-keep-it-real posture.

This disturbed me until I realized you were talking about YouTube 'Friends'.
I have no problem with friends, they are swell; the YouTube implementation of friendship is kind of pointless IMHO.
