if this big poor beefy lad, ever stood before my "petite" statue of 155lbs id hit that poor soul 10x before he could blink his eye...he doesn't know what he's doing. real pros would never square up like spongebob...its not idealistic in boxing you know? ;-)
how would you go from slipping a jab to b&w? when i slip i just drop the weight to the foot thats on the side I'm going to but my feet are not nearly that far apart... b&w is a 'weak' party of my game... how i stills stand undefeated is beyond me
Man I need to go to a boxing school, the thing is it's too expensive and my parent won't pay for it, can't wait to turn 18 this December, then I can get a job next year summer and pay for it, then when I'm done I'll do kick boxing.
im 6'1 195 my arm span is 78 inches, i try to move like tyson i bob and weave like this but not as good obviously, still practicing, i was wondering if its a good or bad idea since im tall and have long ass arms?
You are not made to fight like tyson, try muhamed ali style, and keep your eyes on boxers with longer reach. You are slower and less manueverable than a shorter boxer. But have magical reach and keeping distance skills, focus on using your strong points.
@yoyoadriankingofgame Hey man! You and I have similar physiques. Thomas Hearns is an example of a long lanky fighter with quick hands. We could get something out of studying his fighting style. If we train the right way we could actually give guys like Mike Tyson a hard time in the ring.
@yoyoadriankingofgame Ooops! Ya know what? I sent you a message that was meant for "uros55011". It was basically an ad on to what you where telling him about highlighting his long reach and hight.
A@uros55011 Also! Check out the shoulder roll style. I've used it while sparring shorter opponents and found it to be pretty effective. Becouse what's the point in holding our hands up so high when our opponents are way down there? Still study Tyson style though. Keep it it reserve for taller opponents.
@uros55011 Hey man! You and I have similar body statures. Thomas Hearns is an example of a long lanky
fighter with fast hands. We could get something out of studying his fighting style. With the riht we could give guys like Mike Tyson a hard time in the ring.
@uros55011 the speed and head movement tyson had is originates from the core. tyson had monstrous legs and a core as thick as a redwood. start off with small, slow movements focusing on technique. then gradually speed up over time while strengthening the core.
@uros55011 you're tall so you want to fight tall even in your defense..try not to weave much especially guys shorter than you. guys taller than you, yes. you want to keep people at the end of your jab and slip punches and keep them at a distance...use your reach as much as possible
Good training but u have to throw the punches directly to the guys face not to the shoulders n the white was was throwing the right cross over the Blak guys head but ah its ok I rather actually spar n jus practice on defense no throwing back punches better for my reflex
Im really proud of myself. I came up with this workout earlier without any formal boxing training. Just TKD which we all know is worthless for hands. I dont even like it really but I pay half price and its already cheap. Oh well.
nice technique bro, I'm using it and I'm 6' 160 pounds.. I know I shouldn't because of my reach advantage most of the times but I find it devastating if used right.. Plus it comes natural to me to slip under the punches rather than staying centered.
@wubs23 I wasn't teaching that class. I watched back and noticed one women was dropping her hands. She probably a begin and her shoulders were more than likely fatigued. You must remember beginners don't have the mind to muscle connect more advanced strikers do. So it takes some time for them to develop their technique. Thank you for your insight.

If your smaller than your opponent, its best to stick close to them as their long reach will out-do their opponent from far range.
