@94CHL Due to laws against removing these animals from the wild, most of these animals were born in captivity or are incapable of living in the wild and large businesses such as sea world are actually helping cetaceans, as the animals in their care help us develop ways in which we can improve the quality of life for the cetaceans living in the wild, and to learn how we can protect them from the many threats are also roaming the ocean, so yeah it is something to be proud of, and i am.
@MissKiarna I know that some of these dolphins etc, could not survive in the wild as they have been born in captivity, but telling yourself that teaching these animals to do tricks for our entertainment is educating us about these animals, is wrong. We should transport these captive dolphins too a facility that will allow them too live more like a wild dolphin, & study them there. We don't need to protect them from the ocean?! @94CHL The dolphins ears are not sound sensitive, they have brilliant hearing but use their sonar situated in the head to detect soundwaves. so noise made by crowds do not hurt the animal in any way. I have been working with these animals closely for around two years now and I know what they get treated for when in human care. You need to do alot more research about Sea world before you start pointing the finger, and learn a little more about cetaceans before you speak on here about them.

@94CHL A marine bio park has empleyed me, so i have a pretty good idea about what im on about. If these animals were in the wild they would either be killed or starve to death, these trainers are helping them stay alive and live well. There are dolphin parks that are situated in the ocean but the animals are still in human care and interact with humans, that is as close to the wild as they will get or they will die. Its like leaving a human baby on it's own, it will die. You are wrong, finished.

@94CHL They are situated in the ocean, all im saying is without human interaction these animal will die a very painful death, and they are not tricks, they are behaviours that the animals would preform in the wild ( jumps, vocalisations..) They are taught these so they can survive. Withough the public shows park would have no money and would not be able to stay afloat. Money is needed for scientific research and for food and medication for these animals.

Did you know human sewage has caused anaerobic bacteria to form in oceans that is a threat to cetaceans, thats what reseach and money is needed for. Im not arguing anymore. My only advice is to learn a little more about the parks and the animals themselves and use your passion to act against parks that are cruel.

@94CHL If you look closely in the video, this is just the show pool behind they have a much larger enclosure. Sea world are helping these animals, with out the organisation laws against killing them and capturing them would not now be in place today. The animals you see in shows were rescued, either from bad marine parks or they were incapable of living in the wild. You need to research more in depth before protesting, or write to the park for some more accurate facts.

@santo123able Before you post things like this, get the facts. SeaWorld stopped capturing from the wild 30 years ago, and they have never gotten a dolphin from the Cove in Japan. In fact, there are no dolphins from Taiji in the entire US.

Watch the movie on Netflix about how dolphins hate being enclosed in cages that die after 2 or 3 years because they rely on sonar and the clapping and whistle blowing is like torture to them and how SeaWorld was one of the main dolphin purchasers in Japan where needless dolphin slaughter takes place to make a living. But then again it's just a movie I mean those are all special effects and stuff.

Those dolphins go to the Sea Worlds and other parks like it. The rest of the Dolphins captured in Japan would'nt be left alone and free, that would give them no money. That's why they MASSIVELY KILL THEM ALL and sell the meat, as nobody likes dolphin meat in Japan, they sell it labelled as Whale meat. Neat...

The rest have half the lifespan. Those that survive live half as long. Their tanks are cruelly small. Chill out people. Dolphins in the wild are being killed from global warming, fishing nets and poluted water among other things. It's not like the wild is perfect and they don't suffer there too. Maybe some of the kids that see them in this facility will now appreciate them and help preserve the wild environment for them. If they never had the chance to observe them up close, they may never care about them.

People say crap about Sea World. I don't agree with most other water parks as the enclosures are often pretty small but sea world does great. When I visited Orlando I went to Cedar Key and they were releasing 23/24 Sea turtles. Which is more some troll at a desk will do for conservation. education?

We learn so much about them dolphins are one of the less animals where its hard to do researches in the nature cause they live in an for us untypical biotope. Did you know that we almost know everything about dolphin communication through captivity?
I just do not think the Dolphins have this kind of life. But most of the animals were born at the park and the former, I believe, that were found in risky situations and received special care. They are treated well, that's what matters

@cathavenfostermom1 sadly most captive dolphins are never able to be released into the wild, Well looking at orca that is. They don't learn how to hunt etc. The dolphins may be used for entertainment but they enjoy doing what they do. If the didn't want to do it they're clever enough to show that. They don't mind what they do and they're happy.

people who watch this pleasee watch "the cove" these poor dolphins die in captivity really fast. They are bought from a dolphin slaughter place and are always replaced. Dont be fooled by there face that gives them an illusion that they are happy and cheerful they are sad and dieing int he inside. Please don't encourage them! WATCH THE COVE... seriously!

If you are passionate about these animals, which im sure you are, you should be campaigning against these large business' such as 'sea world'. Keeping wild animals like this, & training them like this is not right. Please open up your eyes, i know it will be a extremely cool job to have, but think of the dolphins. They should be either roaming the ocean, or kept as wild as possible, not living in a place that resembles a swimming pool.

@94CHL Due to laws against removing these animals from the wild, most of these animals were born in captivity or are incapable of living in the wild and large businesses such as sea world are actually helping cetaceans, as the animals in their care help us develop ways in which we can improve the quality of life for the cetaceans living in the wild, and to learn how we can protect them from the many threats are also roaming the ocean, so yeah it is something to be proud of, and i am.

@MissKiarna I know that some of these dolphins etc, could not survive in the wild as they have been born in captivity, but telling yourself that teaching these animals to do tricks for our entertainment is educating us about these animals, is wrong. We should transport these captive dolphins too a facility that will allow them too live more like a wild dolphin, & study them there. We don't need to protect them from the ocean?! They've survived for thousands of years living there without our help

@MissKiarna Seaworld does not 'rescue' these animals, they manipulate them for money. These dolphins and Orca's etc,should be living in a enviroment as close too there natural habitat as possible. Do you know dolphins are incredibly sensative to sound, & hearing the crowd roar etc everyday is incredibly stressfull for them. They have to be treated for ulsours, & all sorts of other things that they get due to stress. So no its nothing to be proud of & you shouldn't be.

@94CHL The dolphins ears are not sound sensitive, they have brilliant hearing but use their sonar situated in the head to detect soundwaves. so noise made by crowds do not hurt the animal in any way. I have been working with these animals closely for around two years now and I know what they get treated for when in human care. You need to do alot more research about Sea world before you start pointing the finger, and learn a little more about cetaceans before you speak on here about them.

@94CHL A marine bio park has empleyed me, so i have a pretty good idea about what im on about. If these animals were in the wild they would either be killed or starve to death, these trainers are helping them stay alive and live well. There are dolphin parks that are situated in the ocean but the animals are still in human care and interact with humans, that is as close to the wild as they will get or they will die. Its like leaving a human baby on it's own, it will die. You are wrong, finished.

They are taught these so they can survive. Withough the public shows park would have no money and would not be able to stay afloat. @94CHL No but they jump and vocalise they hydroplane and splash with the tail fluke. The millions earned by sea world go to scientific research to help the cetaceans in the wild. Did you know human sewage has caused anaerobic bacteria to form in oceans that is a threat to cetaceans, thats what reseach and money is needed for. Im not arguing anymore. My only advice is to learn a little more about the parks and the animals themselves and use your passion to act against parks that are cruel.

@94CHL If you look closely in the video, this is just the show pool behind they have a much larger enclosure. Sea world are helping these animals, with out the organisation laws against killing them and capturing them would not now be in place today. The animals you see in shows were rescued, either from bad marine parks or they were incapable of living in the wild. You need to research more in depth before protesting, or write to the park for some more accurate facts.

It is about a dolphin named Winter who is trapped in a crab trap. The boy came across him on his bike. The sea animal rescue comes and takes him to the hospital (for sea animals). The boy was currently in summerschool, so he was going to miss a few weeks. His mom had no clue that he was missing weeks of school caring for the dolphin. His tail is messed up and a doctor cures it. Watch the movie to see them save him.

Its takes thousands of years to domesticate an animal, look at dogs, they have been house hold pets for thousands of years, & you can still see there natural wild instinct in them. I mean, I've read articles and stuff on the subject and the cages where they live are really tiny for their size, and some of them are killed before they end up in the Sea World. Watch the movie on Netflix about how dolphins hate being enclosed in cages that die after 2 or 3 years because they rely on sonar and the clapping and whistle blowing is like torture to them and how SeaWorld was one of the main dolphin purchasers in Japan where needless dolphin slaughter takes place to make a living. Those dolphins go to the Sea Worlds and other parks like it. The rest of the Dolphins captured in Japan would'nt be left alone and free, that would give them no money. That's why they MASSIVELY KILL THEM ALL and sell the meat, as nobody likes dolphin meat in Japan, they sell it labelled as Whale meat. Neat...

Sea World kills dolphins and whales. The captive whale and dolphin industry supports the drive killing of dolphins. Half of the dolphins and whales captured die in their first two years. The rest have half the lifespan. Those that survive live half as long. Their tanks are cruelly small. Look at the floppy dorsal fin on captive orcas and you will see direct evidence they are not healthy

umm, kay? 1st of all dolphins get whatever they want here? mhmm ya... andd alsso 2nd dolphins are attention cravers they want humans to watch them... they love to put on a show if yo go to look at dolphins in the ocean when the see a boat the swim around it and do the exact same thing except for here they get fish for doing it... if they were misserable they wouldnt put on a show... they just swim around and nbot do what the people want, but they doo...

It doesent matter how much you love animals. You're never a truly animal friend if you support this. Doesen't matter if they are treated like kings, animals belong to the wild. So, don't visit zoo's and similar places.

everyones talking about how the dolphines need to be free and all that, and yea its partially true but think of the alternative. they are endangered animals and if they were out in the ocean instead of places like sea world they could be killed and there would be none of them at all. and i really hate how in the last minutes of the performance, its about the PEOPLE not the DOLPHINS and i dont get that

I have been to Sea World & Aquatica and the shows are amazing. However that doesn't mean i agree with Sea World breeding the dolphins into that, forever working, life! Thanks! Please reply. I would really love to know!

Chill out people. Dolphins in the wild are being killed from global warming, fishing nets and poluted water among other things. It's not like the wild is perfect and they don't suffer there too. Maybe some of the kids that see them in this facility will now appreciate them and help preserve the wild environment for them. If they never had the chance to observe them up close, they may never care about them.

@metaxakis80 then why are the dolphins enjoying them selves. I went swimming with Dolphins in Discovery cove (belongs to Sea World) and the dolphins were so happy, they get proper care and love 24/7. People say crap about Sea World. I don't agree with most other water parks as the enclosures are often pretty small but sea world does great. When I visited Orlando I went to Cedar Key and they were releasing 23/24 Sea turtles. Which is more some troll at a desk will do for conservation. education?

@mrdreamboy "The Cove" has nothing to do with SeaWorld. No North American facilities EVER get dolphins from the drives, it is illegal.

We learn so much about them dolphins are one of the less animals where its hard to do researches in the nature cause they live in an for us untypical biotope. Did you know that we almost know everything about dolphin communication through captivity?

I just do not think the Dolphins have this kind of life. But most of the animals were born at the park and the former, I believe, that were found in risky situations and received special care. They are treated well, that's what matters

What a sickish life. Forced to perform hours a day and when not performing confined in a small space. Why do people feel the need to own everything? It's an animal not a machine! They take them from their homes too. So cruel. Animals are living things they don't need to entertain us

I wish People should stop going to these kind of shows and stop supporting things like this... It's so sad that so many people just threat animals like a toy for their own amusement!!! Just because they can't speak it dosen't mean we can threat them like we want to... We don't threat children like that cause. We tried them after their needs.. What about the needs of the animal? What about freedom? Why do people have the need to possess everything?

@theicebabe, I would like to get your opinion on a different way of keeping dolphins.
Keeping them in a large bay with plenty of room to swim, no boats allowed.
It would be a place for injured wild dolphins.
No tanks or confinement, you can keep dolphins in a bay without them leaving and not
confining them, they will stay voluntarily. it would be for rescue, bringing back rare species,
and eventually releasing them back into the wild. Not for intertainment, but to actually help them.

@cathavenfostermom1 sadly most captive dolphins are never able to be released into the wild, Well looking at orca that is. They don't learn how to hunt etc. The dolphins may be used for entertainment but they enjoy doing what they do. If the didn't want to do it they're clever enough to show that. They don't mind what they do and they're happy.

@deebeefalconry, but they aren't happy, they are constantly stressed out from
the extreme confinement. Also, the sound of the crowds and the pool equipment
causes them stress. Dolphins have very sensitive hearing, all the noise causes them
to pretty much go insane. You just think they are happy because they are smiling, well,
dolphins can't make any other face. The dolphins are under such bad stress, they have to
be given ulcer medications constantly in their food.

food deprivation as a reason to do as they are told. Dolphins are self aware,
but the only way we communicate with them is through sign language, they don't
have hands, they can't talk back. Dolphins in captivity have been known to commit suicide
by choosing to not take another breath and not opening their blow holes.
They often kill themselves because of stress and depression.

@cathavenfostermom1 most animals are trained by using food, I do the same with my birds but that doesn't mean I'm cruel. The dolphins also get plenty of food regardless to training, if they're full and don't want more food then they still perform.
Dolphins in the wild are also known to commit suicide so saying captivity does that to them is false. They do it regardless to where they are in the world

least expensive way to train animals for commercial purposes.
A lot of times, they won't feed them unless they perform well.
Dolphins in the wild are capable of living to be 50, dolphins rarely make it past 10 in
captivity. If a dolphin is born in captivity, they keep it a secret until they know it will live
because of the high mortality rate of captive dolphins.

which are a result of stress because of the noise of the crowds and exteme confinement.
Dolphins in the wild commit suicide if they lose a loved one, in captivity, its because of depression.
Most captive dolphins, except in America, are taken from the wild and only live a few years.
A lot of captive dolphins are used for invasive and painful research.
The dolphin industry is connected with that research.

When u guys say that you hate sea world, maybe it's because you have never been there.
It's an amazing place, with amazing performances, and we can see that the animals like there.
I cried like a lil baby on believe (shamu) and on the doplhin show.
So, don't say anyhing that you are not sure about it. I love Sea World.
