@shaveyourfingers King Scorpion might never have existed, Ancient Egypt was split into 31 Dynastys, The scorpion king was in the 1st of these, so this is VERY basic egypt, Many of the pharoahs went by many names back then, so its possible King Scorpion was never an actual king by himself, but instead just another name for a different pharoah. He was never built a mastaba (Tomb used in 1st Dynasty) that we know of, as King Scorpion, however we may have found one for one of his other identites.
The question is Why did the Egyptians, Mayans and others build costly pyramids?
There is a consistency between the Mayans and the Egyptian pyramids and why is that? Did the Mayans and the Egyptians knew about Planet X, Nibiru or the destroyers as many calls it. Did the most powerful men of old times tried to save themselves from catastrophic events consequences of Nibiru by building gigantic pyramids? If you see closely to the peak of the Egypt pyramid you can see like if there is water damage.

@SaulAlfaro Great thinker Aristotle thought that these were made to make people engaged in unproductive work,such as to worship the king without anything material gain and to keep people very poor.So that they can not organize themselves to revolt against the king/aristocracy.
I have always wanted to view the pyramids in person, hope to be doing it soon. How is the food and how do prices compare to visiting other countries nearby?
@tramchip i'm egyptian ... i recommend u come in the winter .... its a lot more fun and everybody is happier .... i hope u have fun we try to be welcoming but the problem is a lot of egyptians understand english but don't know how to speak it :D ..... not me though :D .... oh . what i recommend the most is that u have an egyptian friend who knows the place or else u won't know where to go .... there are alot of places u can go to in egypt
Perhaps we should classify History into three worlds.
World 1: The Ancient Civilizations of Afro-Eurasia (e.g. Egypt, Greece, Rome)
World 2: The Dark Ages (e.g. England, France, Holy Roman Empire)
World 3: The Industrialized-Globalizing World (e.g. UK, USA, PR China, Russia)
World 1 ended because it fell apart and World 2 ended because it evolved into World 3.
