  • so the technique actually worked

  • omg is he ok

  • why he didint tap ?

  • Wow... that's crazy

  • I have been chocked unconscious twice. The problem is, I am so used to wriggling out of chokes that once in while I am sure that I am gong to get out then I fade out before I get to tap. Then its like being in really strange dream and then you wake up with some dude over you really scared and shouting why didn't you tap out? The funny thing is that its like coming out of dream so you don't understand WTF the dude is talking about and how you even got there in the first place.

  • @simsonyee know the feeling its a trip

  • :50 he was bout to tap, than :51 he went sleep mode.

  • that shit is scary.........

  • Yep been there, was the example being choked by the instructor, he was going to shift position to tighten the choke so i was waiting and listening. I was starting to think i might tap now when he moved and i went straight out. Came too fine.

    Michael

  • i at least we know this tec works.

  • Seriously? Just lift his legs up and he'll wake up in a few seconds. It's nothing dangerous. I'm surprised a black belt gets scared from this. And how was not close to dying in any way. Takes ten seconds to pass out, about five minutes for serious brain damage. No one holds a full on choke for five minutes accidentally.

Obviously you should tap since ugly things like shitting yourself etc. can happen when you go unconscious, but it's not dangerous.

  • at 0:25 he goes out you can see his arms go limp

  • Damn looks like he raised his hand to tap at 0:52 but went unconscious before he actually did :S well at least he was ok lol

  • 7 seconds.. haha enough for a man to be choked out.. man good thing he was ok

  • I went to sleep from the same choke in a tounament two weeks ago lol its the craziest feeling, but it scared everyone there

  • sounds like he tried tapping the mat at 0:51 but it went unnoticed.

  • i thought at first he was faking it but then senise he was my old judo teach he told me he wasnt faking it ................ i just thought he was tring to prv a point....... anyway he did prv a point

  • I think it was more scary than dangerous, but still.

  • i dont understand why he didnt tap out lol, if he could feel he was going under, why not just tap?

  • thank goodness he snored

  • Not snoring he was trying to breath. I did this to my friend once and he had a seizure and made that noise too, he's fine though.

  • This is the real BJJ!

  • In the future, when you tap out you should try to tap your opponent and not the floor or yourself. Especially in no gi BJJ, some guys where ear protection and they can't always hear you tap. Sometimes it's not possible to tap your partner - like when both of your arms are wrapped up - but if you can tap your opponent you should. It's a great choke and good instruction though!

  • In the last second you can see him starting to sit up

  • Is it a scary experience because I do BJJ but I've never been choked out and I haven't seen anybody get choked out, well yet?

  • Hope he was Ok after that, the choke was on for a while....You starve the brain of oxygene for long enough, something can seriously go wrong

  • Blood choke`s are amazing. When you starve the wind pipe or apply pressure the opponent gets frightened and taps. Blood chokes are more stealth like and shut the brain down in an instant.

  • fuck...hope the dude is ok. this world NEEDS martials artists.

  • That is just the way some people act when they pass out. This is no emergency situation, he just went out. Train long enough and you will go out at some point to.

  • I am happy he is fine.

  • "Note: The partner came to, and was fine shortly after we stopped our camera. Very scary experience."

  • Damn... he started to snore.

  • well, we know the technique is legit now

  • brazilian* jiu jiitsu came from judo yes, but judo originally came from jiu jitsu

  • @DLJJT90 So true...First Japanese jiu jitsu...then Judo. When taught to the Gracies...there wasn´t really the name JUDO, so they learned just a small part of jujitsu, the grapple part and safe version one. Still to this day I wonder how they managed to tell everybody they invented something to able little guys beat big guys...especially when Japanese people are small (most)...Jujitsu...Ninjutsu had been around for hundred of years. They improved the grappling part indeed for sure!

  • @DLJJT90 The BJJ expertise is the ground....and only the ground...nowadays Just grappling is not enough...but of course it helps in an fight...it´s a great sport/martial art. Crosstraining would be the best option :) I too train BJJ, and love it as a sport, but I think crosstrain it with ninjutsu/ Goshin jujitsu...and then YOU are able to really defend yourself. BJJ is going the same way JUDO did, became just Sport (5 minutes sparring, million techniques, etc so on )

  • wow that scard me to

  • It looked like he did not get to follow through with the tap out,He was raising his hand to tap him on the leg but seemed to lose conciousness before he was able to.Glad the guy is ok

  • Why the hell dosent the camera man just tell him hes out ?ZZZzzzZZZzzz,,,,

  • @sprengt : Because i was focusing on the Sensei who was speaking. Had I realized, i would have said something, believe me. :)

  • @ExpertHowTos was he ok

  • @Chaos149 : Yes, he was fine after he came to. He came to within a few seconds after we shut our camera off. Thanks for your concern :).

  • At least we know the choke works lol hope he was ok

  • @Shindai Yes, the choke works very well - and he was O.K. Thanks for your concern.

  • @ivanbugy Thats just ridiculous ! you would be Death way before that! 4-5mins!

Pleasee! , besides i said you need at least 15secs to START taking Brain Damage after you black out from a choke! dosent mean hes going to get cripple , going to sleep due to lack of oxygen to the brain is very dangerous and is just matter of Seconds before you take serious damage! the longer you stay the more damage you take! 15secs at least to start with low damage! Minutes will equal Death!

  • @ivanbugy 4-5 minutes and you will definitely be dead. 15 seconds is right. I roll BJJ and they always tell us about how you can get brain damage after they are out for 15 seconds

  • @sagittarius017 no he just went to sleep.... (snoring)

  • Try next trick:

Make 30-40 squats. On last squat take a deep breath and lean your back against the wall. 1st assistant has to cover your mouth and nose. 2nd assistant makes a constant pressure on your chest for about 10-15 seconds. You will certainly fall in unconsciousness, so the 3rd assistant must hold you.

WARNING: They MUST wake you immediately (2-3 slaps shall do). And, don't even think about this if no one is able to provide first aid or if you have ANY (hearth or lung) health issues!

  • @daracmaw -

I WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY STUPID ABUSE OF THIS.

If you're smart and if you will keep with advices, it will be funny and harmless.

If you are stupid and irresponsible, it might even end with someones death.

So, I repeat: make sure that someone of your assistants knows how to provide first aid.

    Tips:

    1. Unconsciousness SHOULD NOT be longer then 5 seconds!

    2. Once you do this, DO NOT repeat this in same day!

    3. Do it once or twice and NEVER EVER again!

  • Thanks for posting the video, it is a valuable lesson to all of us. Thank you so much!

  • Oh Shit

  • He went out at :51secs exactly and the choke was still on for 9secs.

thats a long time but not enough for brain damage, i believe it needs at least 15secs for permanent damage, so it was close, but i think i seen chokes close to that in actual fights , like the Diaz vs Marcus Davis fight that was a long choke after Davis was sleep. good thing he realize and let go right away.

Lesson to be learn , Tap Out from Chokes ! a broken arm can heal but Brain Cells don't regenerate.

  • @edgartj17 Actually, you see his foot go limp @0:46

  • @bobby2da3rd Or best sign, pupils go up...

  • .....and the tapping hand goes limp @:49 This is by far the best video I've seen in years.

  • i don't understand why he didnt tap....immediately when i start to feel myself go i start tapping out immediately.

  • at 00:38 you see that hes already at the stage of passing out, and at 00:43 its lights out for him

  • wtf! dreaming to never never land

  • Meant to say grappling.

  • He didn't "die" he passed out. That's Jiu Jitsu for ya.

  • he passed out he didn't almost die, drama queens

  • mother of god!

  • Oh Shit! This will pop in my head next time my instructor demonstartes on me. I hope I don't laugh hysterically.

  • @aircooledtx krav-maga

    Use caution, tap out..

  • you can tell when he goes out, his eyes look so weird!!!

  • This is 100% fake , and if you cant notice it , you must be really stupid.

Why would they stop filming at the moment he is talking to the man ?

I see too many dumb people here.

  • @TheBruceeta you are fucking stupid

  • @TheBruceeta It's not fake... That's exactly what happens when you get choked out. The one time I got put to sleep, I didn't think I was in danger of passing out until I woke up with people all around me. They stopped filming because they realized he was unconscious...

  • @EzMac1337 : This is EXACTLY why we stopped filming when it happened. We got scared for the Sensei, and tried to help.

  • @TheBruceeta - youre an idiot. do you train?

  • @brioplata I do , and you are the massive idiot out here.

Dont bother answering me , i wont lose time answering back to an internet moron .

  • @TheBruceeta - McDojo's dont count as real training.

  • dude im sorry thats not jui jitsu ITS JUDO .....Okuri Eri Jime thier several variations to this move from sliding lapel to chicken wing to modified clock to what you see here to also putting grape vines its basic judo the first newaza you learn

  • @sonnych69 apparently you don't realize they share several techniques because Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu came from Kodokan Judo

  • Respond to this video... several ? yes its used in both styles but its just a rename in bjj okuri eri jime in judo you can see it in here search it in youtube human weapon judo its nice if once in a while judo gets respect for its newaza not all bjj moves are original to claim as it own give respect as due thats why theres a rivalry between bjj and judo .. not all grappling is bjj its time to educate the people hats off to bjj but a lil respect to its parent art would be nice

  • @sonnych69 actually this is called the bow and arrow choke in jiu jitsu extremely popular choke at all levels from back control watch a roger gracie video big guy. this bow and arrow choke is used both in judo and jiu jitsu.

  • @carlsongracieteam yes its used in both styles but its just a rename in bjj okuri eri jime in judo you can see it in here search it in youtube human weapon judo its nice if once in a while judo gets respect for its newaza not all bjj moves are original to claim as it own give respect as due thats why theres a rivalry between bjj and judo .. not all grappling is bjj its time to educate the people hats off to bjj but a lil respect to its parent art would be nice

  • @sonnych69 dude of course it is originally judo, jiu jitsu comes from judo... lmao count koma a judo black belt and expert in ground grappling, tought the original gracie brothers most famous carlos, and helio, carlson son made (gracie barra) and believed in sport bjj, helio believed in the self defense aspect. I know my bjj and everything jiu jitsu branched off from judo, but the bow and arrow choke is used in both martial arts, jiu jitsu has modified the bow and arrow choke and made it better.

  • @MrSandmanTv you're stupid..

  • @305gabriel1 I'm stupid because I thought something was funny? U Jelly?

  • @MrSandmanTv lmfao, why would i be jelly of you? lemme guess, you didn't tap out in time so you ktfo? yeah i think soo :b

  • @305gabriel1 -_- Lettuce Be Cereal

  • "Ohh shit!" he passes out at 00:50 lol, you can see his hand fall.

  • He was out for about 10 seconds or so. That was close... Hope he didn't lose any brain cells.

  • looked like the tunnel closed in on him just as he was about to tap. his hand was up.

    But yeah.. TAP!

  • @MasterOfCornflakes lol yeah you're right, he was just about to tap. He waited a little too long!

  • looked like the tunnel closed in on him just as he was about to tap. his hand was up.

    But yeah.. TAP!

  • well at least we know it works lol

  • He went out at 0:49 get let go at 0:59...

  • I guess he passes out around 0:50

  • According to forensic pathologist, Michael Baden, it takes between 15-20 seconds *after unconsciousness* for brain damage to occur due to a choke hold. That was too close for comfort, but he's probably 100% okay.

  • 1:00 "Oh shit! Jimmy!" I think everybody in the room was think the same thing. Glad the guy is alright, but like a lot of others have already said before me, he should have tapped. I feel bad for the guy's wife or girlfriend, the dude's a snorer. LOL

  • This happens to me to XD I was like mam I want TO stay sleeping 0.o boy are you alright I was like wtf just happened XD

  • Good news. When the guy is snoring...he's not dying; he's sleeping. You let go in plenty of time. But he really should have tapped. LOL really funny though.

  • The guy was freaked out

  • There were times I almost passed out too for not tapping out while rolling, always tap out if you know they've got you. I

  • At 0:25 I thought I had accidentally hit rewind

  • gece gece işedim gülmekten, umarım çabuk iyileşmiştir bjj ci !

  • wow, talking about a sensationalist title... that's very common, not even close to death. Chokes are tricky because it's not always obvious that you're about to go out. I think he just thought it was too early into the choke so he didn't tap. It's an important reminder to people training jiu jitsu though, lose your ego and tap. I saw people get hurt in training just for not wanting to be tapped out by someone they consider inferior or something like that.

  • i know the senseis in the video dont want to kill each other and it is not a street fight but in street fight is lot of extra unnecessary force produces for calming someone down.. so i suggest.. train yourself and you ll be able to think clearly in street fight situations..some fuckers train mma because they want to fight in streets.. do it... but dont harm the people.. its bad for them.. and for you.. when cops get a report of what u did

  • every stupid fucker who provokes people having fun to have fight or idiot who does not know when to stop beating someone in fair fight or in fight caused by nothing serious should watch this!!! if somebody tries attack you with a weapon...go ahead and tear him to pieces. sometimes you need to give someone a lesson for insulting etc. but that doesnt really mean broken jaw, nose or ribs.. some people for example outside a bar dont realize they can seriously hurt you or even kill you

  • he doesnt die he is just OHNMÄCHTIG

  • did he died?

  • good ko held it on for a LONG time made sure he was properly OUT well done that how I love to KO pple x

  • Considering it was just a demo, why was such a level of force used? I wouldn't like to imagine how much force he'd use in a real situation....scary!

  • @pgjr00 You don`t really need to use a lot of force to choke someone out with proper technique. This move has a lot of leverage involved. The guy didn`t even know the other one was out, because he wasn`t putting much pressure.

He just took a nap though. It takes longer to actually kill. He should have tapped...

  • I think he goes out at around 51 seconds, watch his right hand.. so wasn't out for too long but still pretty dangerous!

  • It looks like the blood supply to his brain was cut off for @ 17 seconds - yikes!

  • @nathanwilefrazier In a real fight, presumably less oxygen & more CO2 in the bloodstream would have starved his brain of oxygen to an even greater degree.

  • I dont do jujitsu

  • He probably tried to hold it off long enough for the guy to show the whole technique, and he miscalculated.

  • wow, he held that longer than babalu

  • great example of a choke, and a great thing for people to realize in a class situation

  • It must be hard to remember when you're in the process of defending yourself. But this proves that you really must, no matter what. Great vid!

  • Now THAT is scary. Vitally important to tap out.

  • Such a valuable lesson to learn. Thanks for posting!
